My friend highly recommended Advance Dental Health, and I'm glad she did. I've had appointments with both dentists there and they have great bedside manner and I don't feel like they try to nickel and dime you. The entire staff is so good at what they do. I had gums that needed to be repaired and my last dentist told me I wasn't a candidate, they encouraged me to get a second opinion with a periodontist and the periodontist fixed it. If you can't foresee the future don't go to this dentist!! I had to cancel in less than 48 hours, because my grandson was in the NICU and needed to focus on him rather than my teeth. Well, I got a text stating "that's unfortunate but the doctor put aside 2 hours for your appointment and it's $75 an hour. There are NO exceptions not even if your like dying in the hospital. Also, this dental office failed to tell me that they moved when I made my appointment. They prefer texting and they sent me a text an hour before my appointment that they moved. Well, I already confirmed my appointment and I didn't check my messages until I saw that their suite was empty. After checking my text from them an hour before my appointment, they sent me a text that they moved to a different office. I was already late for my appointment and I had other obligations afterwards and I told them I can't come in today. I got a response "oh that's unfortunate the doctor has been sitting here waiting for you and in the future you can only have a same day appointment" This Dentist is all about the needy greedy!! He only cares about the money and there is no dental plan for people like me who don't have dental insurance. This dentist said I had $15K in dental work and he wanted to do a filling on one of my molars. He said it was a priority or it will become a root canal. So when I called to make the appointment for a "filling" the front office lady said that "it's a root canal not a filling" WTF?! She suggested that I come in to talk to the dentist about the "dental" plan free of charge. Well, I just got a bill for $75 for being late/canceling my appointment, when they failed to notify me that they were MOVING when I originally made my appointment. I found my new long term dentist! I went to ADH to have a crown repaired that fell out completely after less than 2 years. When it was initially put in by a different dentist I kept saying it didn't feel right. It wasn't laying evenly and had rough edges. But they told me that it was normal and after a few days it will get better. Well it never got better and quite frankly I'm glad it fell out after LESS THAN 2 YEARS (other than having to pay again). My new crown is perfect. It felt perfect the moment the dentist asked me to feel it out. Not only was there almost no discomfort, the staff was very friendly and easy to work with in every aspect. They got me in immediately and after a couple hours I was leaving with a new crown and dental plan for the next year to keep my dental health on track. Finding a new dentist is never fun or easy... I'm glad I found Dr. Holton and the entire ADH team. Highly recommend. read more

As someone who is new to AZ, it's often difficult to know where to turn to schedule an appointment at a new office. The front office staff was extremely friendly and helpful when setting up my appointment and I was taken back right on time. My hygienist, Jenna, was great! Most certainly the best dental work and staff. They make going to the dentist and getting a crown almost an enjoyable experience (let's be honest, it's still the dentist...). The little touches help the experience - lip balm application mid-procedure, bottled water on arrival, superb magazine selection (but minimal waits mean you'll likely not get far), pillows, post visit calls to make sure everything has gone well. Scheduling is also super easy. They've always been able to fit me in very last minute for whatever my needs are. Words cannot express the gratitude I have for Advanced Dental Health of Phoenix, particularly to "Dr. Todd" Holton and to April Peyer, Hygienist-Extraordinaire-turned-Dental Assistant-Magnificent! We were privileged to receive care from these two consummate Professionals years ago at a previous practice, and we are BLESSED to have found them again!! I'm an airline pilot and suffered an open fracture/loss of filling on a molar while at my crew hotel 1,000+ miles away from home. I was able to schedule an emergency appointment with my previous practice, but my flight home was delayed by 45 minutes, and sadly, my old provider cancelled my appointment. And then I remembered that April and Dr. Todd were now at Advanced Dental Health (conveniently right across I-10 from our house even!). I had been meaning to make an appointment for (literally) more than a year, but you know how time flies and procrastination endures. I called Advanced Dental Health, and WOW! Both April and Dr. Holton went FAR above and beyond the call of duty. They brought me in, assessed my situation, then immediately treated me. I was in and out of there in just 2 hours; no longer in pain and with a beautiful custom made crown, perfectly and expertly placed! I would NEVER voluntarily go to ANY other dental clinic again! A Re-Cement for Under $100 or a Post & Crown from Dr. Snider for Only $2000.00? - Choose! Dr. Snider intended to save my crown by pulling it loose but could not get it out. He said that he'd then have to drill it off instead and put a new crown on. He told me the post that I had was not strong and couldn't be used again. He suggested drilling up further up into my tooth for better anchoring. When I wiggled my crown at home, it slid right out with the post fully in tact. I was thrilled that I could save it and use it again. Next appointment: When Dr. Snider came in the room, I proudly showed him my tooth with a complete and in tact post. His exact words were, "Now what did you do that for?". I was stunned! I responded by saying that I thought he'd be glad because we could now use my own crown to put back in. He then said, "Well, now we need to go to plan B, whatever that is." Everything became surreal after that. I thought for sure that he was going to use my current crown and just cement it onto the new post. Dr. Snider returned 15 mins. later and told me that he couldn't just put my crown back in my mouth because it's not done that way. He said that I didn't understand and that it is not possible to do what I'm asking. Instantly upset, my entire body froze as I felt his inauthentic response to my wishes. My blood pressure spiked as a result of fear and distrust. I don't know why I couldn't just get up out of the chair and leave, but I couldn't. The next 2 of the 2.5 hours in this man's chair were spent in great discomfort. When he noticed that I was uneasy he asked if I was OK I told him that my blood pressure was going through the roof. He then said, "Why? All you need to do is lay there". I was insulted and poorly cared for as he continued. When I couldn't open my mouth any wider he breached my comfort zone by shoving a wedge in-between to keep it open. This was the most brutal treatment I've experienced in 57 years of going to the dentist. I felt his anger and frustration coming through his hands and into my mouth. He said little and I was left not understanding what he was doing. Somehow I became a problem for him because I attempted to alter his plans, his procedure, and his income. He went to take pictures of my teeth and needed to repeat this process three times because it wasn't coming out as he wanted. This was a painful process for me. His assistant was nice enough to spray water into my mouth many times because my tongue was sand paper. He put a temporary crown on without drying or sterilizing the area. Every tooth in my mouth is crowned, so I have a good level of awareness of what this process looks like. Dr. Snider sprayed a toxic spray onto my teeth multiple times before taking the photos which made me about half sick. Dr. Snider glued in the temporary - it was very rough, gritty and unpolished. Returning from the bathroom, I apologized for anything I may have said to upset him. He quickly changed the subject and then told me that there was no way to match the color of my tooth exactly and that he'd need to stain to get it to match. Had he told me this during the consultation, I would have never agreed to it. Arriving 30 minutes early for my final appointment, I became clear of what to and say. I was instantly upset by being there and my decision was to get my old crown and post along with the new crown that was made in it's place. I had arrived with all good intentions, and quickly realized that I no longer trusted this dentist. I immediately informed his office staff that I was very upset and would not be going through the procedure because the last experience was very a unpleasant one. I said that my mouth hurt for four days. I wanted both of my crowns before leaving. I also made it clear that I did not want to see or speak to Dr. Snider because I was afraid that it would get ugly. I promised that if she honored my request, I would leave quietly. Two weeks following this ordeal, I found a new dentist to finish the procedure. He confirmed that all I had needed was a re-cementing of my old crown and post. He would have given me the option of putting in a longer fiber post had I wanted, although it wasn't critical. The dentist was saddened to hear my tales and agreed that Mr. Snider was clearly looking out for his own financial interests. When the new dentist tried to fit the crown that Dr. Snider had made into my mouth, the shape and color wasn't even close to what my old crown looked like. It was pathetic. The new dentist made use of the existing metal and put my old crown back in. The procedure literally took minutes to create a clean hole in my old crown, and cement it onto the metal post. I am happy to say that there are dentists who do care more about the care of their patients over their own financial gain. read more

When to Advanced Dental health very clean and nice people but then Dr. Howard wanted to put a crown on a tooth that had no problems just had a lot of metal in it from the Army. I said I wanted another tooth to be worked on, he insisted. Then the crown got abscessed and has to be pull out now so all my insurance money is gone and they will not call me back. Great place as long as nothing goes wrong. If something goes wrong it is all your fault and you will get no help from ADH!! read more

Unfortunately the integrity of this practice has been compromised. I will not be returning for so many reasons. My favorite dental hygienist was let go and I'm honestly still in shock. I wish people would realize that providing for a family is so hard. This hygienist was nothing short of amazing. I know any practice will be so lucky to have her.
