Went here for a consultation for my son. The front office people were trashy and rude. They told me that it would be $6,000 to continue his invisalign treatment. This after he had already done it for an entire year. They wanted me to pay for something he "might need". The doctor barely stopped by and that was only after waiting in some room forever. This place is about the money and not the patients. The doctors have pictures of themselves giving speeches and meeting Tony Robins everywhere. Self involved much? Don't waste your time. read more

They have given us thoughtful, professional input and service throughout- even prior to becoming a patient. My daughter needed some periodontal work prior to getting her braces removed; Dunn educated us about this at the initial consultation, so we knew it was coming. I recently attempted to see Dunn orthodontics due to my permanent retainer coming unglued. I reached out and historI ally they've been nothing but good. I informed them of the issue and the fact that the metal retainer has now begun to dig and cut into my tongue. I was told that since I have an outstanding balance that they cannot reglue my metal retainer. This was extremely disappointing and disheartening as I feel they are now leveraging my oral health and safety over money. I have been paying my outstanding balance via a creditor and informed them of this but they stated they themselves would have to be paid instead of the creditor which does not make any sense. I'm in extreme pain and feel that my health and wellbeing is being dangled due to money that is already being paid. this is not what I believe Dunn to stand for and very sad and also I'm not sure what to do with my issue with retainer stabbing I to my lower mouth. read more

I first found Dunn orthodontics online when searching for somewhere to get braces in Phoenix. All in all, my treatment took 18 months and I had a really great experience. This office is located on 16th st and Bethany home. There is lots of parking and it's right off the freeway. I didn't even get any quotes at other offices because I was so comfortable after my initial consultation. We worked out an 18-month no interest payment plan. I got porcelain clear braces on top and standard on the bottom. The technology was also really impressive, as everything here is state of the art. Everyone here is so nice, from the front desk to the doctors themselves. They really take the time to make you feel special by putting your name on the board for your appointment. Even when I broke my brackets, they were always happy to see me. Especially Melissa, the sweetest girl. I would definitely recommend this place to any other adults or kids in need of braces. read more

If I could give minus 1000 stars, I would. Their office on Bethany Road was disgusting! They kept touching instruments, then patients, then other items, then patients mouths again! Dr. Matt argued with me about that they did not have to be sterile. I said I understood but that does not mean he and the staff get to touch all of these unclean objects then put their hands in patient's mouths! It was more like a factory and were not even greeted. We were also overcharged for services NOT rendered (currently going through an insurance investigation and will file a complaint to the Attorney General if we are not reimbursed by June 10th, 2022). We decided to end care with them after only the first visit because it was so bad. They actually charged us to keep the braces on AND to transfer to care to another orthodontist! There are SO many other wonderful doctors out there that will treat your loved one with cleanliness, respect, and not overcharge you. ANYWHERE is better than at Dunn. The whole point of me getting braces and paying that large lump sum of money was not just to get straighter teeth but to to have great communication to what will be happening during my journey and that didn't happen. I was told before placing the beaces on that I wouldn't have to have any extractions but what I was NOT told was that after everything is taken off that my top and bottom teeth will be extremly flared. when it comes to my smile I wanted everything perfect (which is why you get braces) and the flaring was just something that was not communicated now Ive paid all this money and have to live with it. I had to go back and ask why my teeth are pushed out. she says it's because I didnt have any extractions. as the doctor, you told me I didnt need any. read more

After initially consulting on teeth straightening many years ago, I was told that having my jaw broken and reset would be part of the process. Matt and Courtney said otherwise. I give this office one star just because they weren't straight forward as being contracted with United Concordia. When I called to make appointment, it was the first thing I asked if they were contracted with United Concordia and lady that answered the phone told me they were contracted with United Concordia. Fast forward few months, I find out they are not contacted with united Concordia. I called Dunn Ortho and they said they accept United Concordia and they work with all PPO and give good pricing. This is not what I was told initially when i made first appointment. I dont understand too much about insurance policies etc but I believe most people don't understand much either. Ultimately, its my fault for not veryfing if United Concordia was contracted thru their concordia's website. Now , we still have a balance and I already paid more if I would have gone to an ortho that was indeed contracted with United Concordia. It doesn't make sense that a consumer would want to pay more out of pocket for same ortho service with another ortho is contracted with United concordia. I explained this to the man that answered the phone today and I was told that they can't help me and I still owe them. The office manager is supposed to call me back. All this could have bern resolved if this office would have told me up front on initial call for first appointment that they weren't contracted with my insurance and I would have not been dealing with this. Hoping for the best once the manager calls me. read more

Being 26 braces were scarier than well everything. There's a fear that comes with adult braces and I wasn't totally sure, or prepared to make that journey. I unfortunately have not had a good experience. COVID brought some challenging times to our family financially and even though I paid them what I can each month they were going to refuse to see my daughter (who was still in braces) unless we made an additional payment. I send them payments twice a month with what I can but that is not enough. It is really a shame that even though I spoke to their office, told them my situation, they said "you signed a contract". Life changes unfortunately. It would have been nice to know they weren't in my insurance plan but they never mentioned that. If I wasn't paying them and ignoring them.... I would get it. But I do pay each month. I received a threatening letter and now just want nothing to do with them. read more

Very attentive when I sign up for Invisalign's After receiving my first tray, wasn't informative on what I should do or even showing me how to remove them. Very impersonal sorry I went with them. Sit you down open your mouth and poke around and not say a word!!! What a waste of money and time. After I went in to get my retainer they tried to sell me a lifetime retainer for $850. Really after spending $6300. Very unhappy with both Mr. and Mrs. Dunn. Do not recommend them to treat adult patients. Maybe kids don't see what I saw. read more

I usually am not the one to do reviews on Yelp but felt the need to on this occasion. I had gotten braces put as a 24 year old and had them for several years. To be fair on my behalf I had missed several tightening appointments due TO being a full time employee from 9-5 which made it hard to get time off to do so. During several of my tightenings I had asked how much time I had left on them(obviously do not want them as an adult.) but was brushed off constantly and told that "it was hard to tell" My braces towards the end were giving me many issues including bleeding gums and pretty bad pain. One day I noticed my tooth began to turn gray and went to see my regular dentist who recommended to get the braces off immediately due to the dying tooth. I asked very nicely to get them off as it is my choice. They were extremely reluctant and fought me on taking them off even after ALL of that. They finally agree and I sign a waiver to get them off. The day comes to get them off and the orthodontist comes and says NOT ONE word to me. I was also expected to the pay the full amount of 6K even though I did not finish the course of treatment. I understand I could've have done better on maintenance on my behalf but was really unhappy with how I was treated(not so much like a human with emotions). I would highly not recommend them. read more
