I had a consultation here last week for braces (I am 25 and have been putting this off for forever) but the moment I walked in, Kelly, at the front made me feel at ease and made sure we had all of the paperwork handled properly and made me feel super comfy. I usually get nervous coming into the dentist but she made those nerves go right away. I was then taken back by Brooke who did the X-rays and took other cool photos with my teeth with their high tech machine (it was super neat to say the least) since it made a 3D mold of my mouth! After pictures, I then met with Susan who took her time to walk me through what my plan would be and really helped me understand what my next steps would be. We were cracking up over some personal things and it made me feel like I was talking to an old friend. I was also able to meet with Dr. Murphy who is so smart and was able to even give me some recommendations for how to help my TMJ pain before getting braces on. I have been blessed in the teeth department I guess. I have never had an Orthodontist before. My dear daughter however has not been so lucky. I blame her father and it's possible my family for skipping a generation w my siblings and I but my child will be needing a little help to get that perfect smile. The staff was very friendly and put the child at ease from the start. Warning to new patients though they use a digital fingerprint for signing in. While some kids might get excited about it and pretend they are Agent Cody Banks or a Spy Kid of some sort this doesn't bode well with all parents I'm sure. I mean is it really necessary? I'll answer this for you and the answer is a big fat NO. I'd deduct half a star if I could so 4.5 stars more like. They have special programs for the kids where they earn coins and can buy things w the money. They also have other perks for the kids which I think is really nice. It looks like my little one will be going here for quite some time we'll see if things will stay the same or if the newness of it all will wear out it's welcome. P.S. They take adult patients as well. Now if I could only mess up my teeth enough to get in a chair and have the hunky doc take a look at my chops. read more

Now that it has been three years since I've had my braces off, I think it's time for a review! ;) Dr. Murphy's office may be rad, but what makes he and his loyal team awesome is the personal and efficient service they've been providing since even before they moved in to their swanky new digs. We started out with my bottom front teeth so crooked that they were starting to overlap. With Dr. Murphy's recommendation of going for metal braces, my teeth actually moved into place in about three months, and then the braces were on to "maintain/enforce" that straightness for six months after that. How awesome is that? Dr. Murphy's undergrad degree is in Engineering, and you can easily sense the technical perfectionist that he is. You are in good hands here. I recall braces being painful when I wore them in middle school, but I never felt any pain this (late 30s) go around. The team gave me a "braces orientation"; including reviewing each item in a package of supplies they gave me. This really contributed positively to my overall experience, and I don't know what I would have done without the ever-important "wax"!! What I recall is a completely professional and totally put-together team; especially Rhonda, who seems like the superhero of braces. Now, three years later, my (crowded) teeth are still straight. I wear a retainer when I sleep only, and my teeth have stayed perfectly in place. At one point, maybe 1.5 years ago, my retainer "chipped", and Dr. Murphy fixed and fitted it back and said "it will still work perfectly". He was right. Thank you, Dr. Murphy and team! read more

My daughter has been going here for several years. . When we are here we feel more like we are family than clients. They set it up to put the kids at ease and even make it fun for them with toys and other incentives.. In addition to that they often host special events for the kids to enjoy, such as movies, pool parties, Halloween parties etcetera. Best Ortho in AZ! I had the same orthodontist back in California from the time I was 8 years old until I graduated high school who I thought was great at the time. When I moved to Arizona my teeth needed some correcting from not wearing my retainer, so I sought out a local orthodontist that did Invisilign. I was not that happy with the results. About 4 years after that I met Dr. Murphy, and he convinced me to try it again. I am ecstatic about the results, and I get compliments on my teeth & smile weekly. He provides a great service, got me the results I desired, his staff was wonderful to work with, he provides a fun environment, and the whole experience was excellent from beginning to end. read more

He seemed very nice and knowledgeable, but ended up leaving me bent out of shape (including my teeth!). I paid in full at the start of treatment in order to qualify for the discount. I asked if I moved before treatment was finished, would they reimburse me for the amount remaining and was told by his staff that, yes, I would be reimbursed AND the contract also stated that. As it turned out, I did end up moving and, as soon as I told him our plans (about halfway through my treatment), he started telling me I would be ready to get out of my braces before then. Luckily, I went to my dentist and he told me that there was NO WAY I was ready to come out of braces yet. My dentist actually called Murphy and talked to him about it, and Murphy hemmed and hawed but agreed, and left me in them. Clearly the reason he wanted to get my braces off while I was still in Arizona was so that he could say that my treatment was "completed" and keep the full insurance and personal payment amounts! He still submitted it to insurance and, despite my requests, refused to refund any of it to me, even though I had to pay out of pocket and continue treatment with an orthodontist in another state for ALMOST ANOTHER YEAR! Obviously, I would NEVER recommend him. read more
