Dr Metz and his team have been taking care of my teeth for 2 yrs now. I had a lot of aging fillings and inlays that needed replacement. They have me on a treatment plan to slowly work through getting everything taken care of. They are also extremely gentle with me as I have bad anxiety with being in the dentist chair. Everything is explained in as much or little detail as I want. Dr Metz is really accommodating if I need a break and I like that I can wear headphones and listen to music. I'm not saying I enjoy going to the dentist, but I no longer dread it. And as my teeth and bite improve, I am much more proud of my smile. read more

I went to Vibrant Dentistry in 2013 when I was visiting from Europe and desperately needed routine/American dental care. I ended up needing a crown, amongst other treatments and it has now been 12 years (12!) and my crown is still going strong. Probably the best dentist I have ever been to with high quality work, so much so that I am writing a follow up review to recommend after my dental visit today (my dentist couldn't believe how long my crown has lasted and what great shape it is in)!! read more

Dr. Metz and his team have been great to have for dental work and cleaning. Been going there for a number of years (feels like 6-7 now, but I forget the exact year I started), and everyone there is always nice and easy to get along with. I think it also helps that everyone there seems interested in doing the best job they can for each patient, and that can be seen in the way they work and the technology they use. They seem to be on the cutting edge of with cleaning, between the 3D mouth scans to watch the movement of your teeth and jaw, to the colored dye they use to highlight problem areas in your gums and teeth, and be able to really clean those areas out. This helps, as a patient, to be able to see this and find areas where I might not be cleaning as well as I should, and better focus on those spots. In the long run, I believe this will lead to better mouth hygiene, and hopefully less work for the hygienist :) They are a great office, and I really cannot recommend them enough! read more

I've attached a Facebook conversation that corresponds to this post. Dr. Metz is the literal epitome of everything you'd hope a dentist could be. He is kind, honest, gentle, precise, fast, methodical and meticulous. He works quickly yet thoroughly, he pays attention to minor details, provides you with an overall agenda and focuses on the most important things first. Case in point, he advised me to get a crown on our first visit and I felt I couldn't afford it so I put it off. It had already been patched by another dentist, so no big deal, it was fine. So I put it off for about a year and a half. BIG MISTAKE. On August 15th, 2018, my fiancée and I were at Buffalo Wild Wings. I was enjoying some of their Korean BBQ wings, chewing right along, and *crunch*... "what was that noise?" I thought to myself as I stopped chewing. Clearly it came from inside my own head, but it was loud. My molar felt warm in a weird way... I finished the wings and went home. We left at 5:03PM (thanks Google Maps Timeline!) By 6:00PM, my molar began to tingle By 7:00PM, the tingle had turned into an ache By 8:00PM, the ache had start throbbing By 9:00PM, the throb was now POUNDING By 10:00PM, the POUNDING was now a JACKHAMMER By 11:00PM THE JACKHAMMER WAS A WRECKING BALL LODGED INTO THE SIDE OF MY SKULL The pain was paralyzing. The blindsiding migraine of this cracked tooth had me on my hands and knees because it was so disorienting. The pain would go from a skull-cracking 11 on the 10 scale to a 7 and back again. I got on Google and started calling endodontists at 11PM. Nobody answered. But the last call I made at 2AM was the first call returned at 615AM. It was Dr. Metz. He apologized profusely for not answering the phone at 2AM & not calling me sooner. He wanted me in the office in 45 minutes for tests & treatment I got there at 7AM. He quickly identified the tooth, explained I needed a root canal to fix the tooth that originally just needed a crown because my root was jacked up by wing sauce now. He moved his entire schedule to treat me right then and there. It was like a miracle. By the time I realized he had numbed me up, he had already gotten his scheduled pushed back to take care of my extreme pain. I had never been so happy to have a needle in my jaw. He worked swiftly and diligently. He got that tooth opened up like a kid and a cookie jar. I knew as soon as that nerve was out because the pain was gone. I was so relieved. Google maps timeline said I was out of there in 3 hours from my arrival time. That's INSANELY FAST for all the work he did! I left with a temporary crown that fit like a glove and ZERO PAIN. He got me in for the permanent as soon as it was completed and it's been a year since then and it's PERFECT. Look - obviously there's a lot of people that have reviewed Vibrant Dentistry and you get the mixed reviews. As of this writing, he's got a 4.5. That's a solid rating, but if you want to know the truth, look at the reviews that aren't 5-star. "he told me I needed all this work", "it took longer than expected", "I went somewhere else and got it fixed without a crown" Yea, guess what. The dental industry is full of a bunch of Dentists that want you to feel welcomed, keep your costs down and make quick money on doing quick work: cleanings, fillings, whitening... There's nothing wrong with it, sure. Get the filling. Let them seal the cavity that's so deep it's going to crack some day, like mine did. Go through what I went through. All three of the teeth he said I needed crowns on were fillings done by different dentists (two in Texas, one here). I have a bridge and some fillings that he noted were done quite well. He didn't say I needed those changed. He said I *needed* to get three crowns, and he told me which one I should get done first. I saw him for two cleanings since the first visit to the time my tooth cracked and he gave me the root canal. Lesson learned. Dr Metz is by far the best dentist I've ever had. I said 10/10 earlier but really he deserves 11/10. He's above and beyond any and all expectations. He's trained his staff to match, too. They are all compassionate and fantastic. Sure you can go somewhere and let them give a second opinion on something he said should be crowned. NEWS FLASH: MOST dentists will say "yea, we can just fill this in". Of course they would! Why wouldn't they? *snaps finger* just like that they "saved you money", "earned your trust" and got a "customer for life"!!! *facepalm* Don't get suckered into it! ANY second opinion you get from another dentist is going to be that way. Unless Dr Metz is your second opinion, in which case I guarantee you're getting the truth. Don't let these people that get second opinions from "dentists" that get their degrees out of Cracker Jack boxes and Clown College sway you away from one of the most honorable dental professionals in the industry. I am looking for a good dentist and my husband found Dr Carl Metz's name. I saw Dr Metz last week for my first appointment/consult. When he asked me how many times daily do I brush my teeth and I said once in the morning. He said point blank to me that he didn't think "we are a good 'fit!'" I was stunned! I felt like getting up and walking out of his office! He made me feel like shit! I know a lot of people who only brush their teeth once a day. As a DOCTOR, it's his job to HELP people since he's so "very passionate" about teeth--not to cut them down! Dr Carl Metz is very arrogant and needs to acquire a friendlier and more helpful attitude. I scheduled a same day dental cleaning appointment and was booked right away. What they receptionist failed to disclose was that this "cleaning" would take 2 hours, yet not one tooth would be cleaned. What happened instead of the cleaning I scheduled was a "tour"of the office, an interview with the hygienist (about dental likes/dislikes, my budget), X-rays, and about an hour long oral examination. This led to a list of about $1000 in dental work. Then after all of that, which literally took 2 hours, we were informed of a cleaning that we could get that would take another 1.5 hours! What the hell?!! Picture taking your car to the dealership for an oil change that you scheduled over the telephone. But, when you get there, they take your car for two hours for testing, while they give you a tour and offer you water and coffee and a free gift. Then you get a diagnostic bill... with a long list of what's wrong with your car. But, no oil change. That cleaning is all we wanted. Now, I honestly think it's great they're so thorough, However, when a person takes time off from Work to get a dental cleaning, you schedule 1 maybe 2 hours. I talked to the front desk lady and told her that they need to be upfront with people and let them know that it can take 3 to 4 hours for an initial visit. I'm a lawyer, and I've reviewed Medical malpractice and pharmaceutical class action cases. I know what they're trying to do here. Basically find everything they can that's "wrong" and see how much they can get out of you and your insurance company. I know dentist's have to make money. But I requested a damn cleaning, that's it! Then, after my cleaning, and if I even like you, then I'll schedule appointments for other dental work to be completed. Not, the other way around. Like they literally scheduled us for future dental work in July and August and we didn't get a cleaning. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because the staff is nice. My stepfather is a retired dentist. He was the elected lead of his State Board of Dental Examiners for much of his career. Long story short - I know a lot about dentists and dentistry. What makes a good dentist, what makes a good assistant, what makes a good hygienist, what makes a good office, what makes for quality of service and most important the quality of the dental work itself. Dr. Metz is, absolutely, the best dentist I have ever had the pleasure of working with. His office and staff are professionals of the highest level. The care I received and the quality of work at his office was the best I have ever had, bar none. When I first arrived I was immediately and politely greeted by name and offered a wide variety of cold drinks. The waiting room is comfortable and immaculate. I was shown the dentists diploma and many other certificates of excellence. I was given a full and thorough tour of the entire facility before being led back to the waiting room. I sat for no more than 5 minutes before I was brought in for my service. I went to Dr. Metz for a great deal of necessary work over a short period of time and never waited for more than 5 minutes to be brought in for my work. That is a first! The staff are beyond compare. They clearly describe what they will be doing, why and how. They ensure your comfort. They offer a wide variety of items to ensure you will have the best and most comfortable dental service. There is an actual "comfort menu" in front of you where you can choose from Bose sound cancelling headphones, blankets, music and many more. These people took my comfort in to great consideration and I can tell you that I was extremely comfortable, never experienced ANY pain for any of my services (cleaning, crowns and fillings!). Dr. Metz is an absolute professional. He greeted me with warmth and respect. He explained in clear terms what he would be doing and ensured that there were no questions at all. He repeated the assistants questions about comfort and my need for anything to make the experience easier for me. His communication with his staff was professional. He asked them for what he needed and they knew exactly what they were doing. Everybody at this office was a serious pro. There were no noobs here who were in training and confused about what was going on. Nothing but experienced professionals who cared about what they were doing, clearly enjoyed their work and very clearly enjoyed working with Dr. Metz. At the end of my service all of my charges were explained clearly. I was told what my insurance covered and what it did not. I was told clearly what my copay was. It was crystal clear and in no way confusing about my payments. I did not haver to ask any questions. That is a first! I live in the North Valley. I drive 45 minutes to see Dr. Metz because he is the BEST dentist in the valley. Bar none. If you are scared of the dentist, scared of the pain, worried about bad service - this is the dentist for you. Loved this office! I went to Vibrant Dentistry earlier this week for an exam and a problem with my retainer. The office staff were wonderful (they even brought me a blanket for my legs when I mentioned I was chilly) and the office is beautiful. Dr. Metz was wonderful and did a very thorough exam of both my teeth AND head, neck and jaw- something I can really appreciate as a chiropractor. My favorite thing was that he actually takes pictures of your teeth so he can show you what he's talking about. I've never had a dentist do this before, and it was great for someone like me who wants to know exactly what's going on with my body. He showed me the problem tooth and what he wanted to do, got a price quote for me, and was able to do the procedure right then and there. I also give him credit for telling me that he'd rather not mess with the retainer himself and he referred me to an orthodontist a few miles away (Curtis Orthodontics). I give people a lot of credit when they are humble enough to know what they can and can not help with. Oh, and for dental weenies out there, don't worry. I think I made a review a long time ago, but wanted to thank and complement the staff at Vibrant Dentistry! Today was the first kind of "emergency" incident when my crown fell out after 7 years. When calling Vibrant dentistry to ask for guidance they did not hesitate to get me in same day. They are so personalized to everyone's needs such as blanket, music, various drink options. I have been going to Vibrant Dentistry since I came to the valley almost 7 years ago. Before coming to Arizona, my family had a family dentist in our small town since I was young and coming to Vibrant Dentistry had a very similar experience. I came to Vibrant Dentistry for my first dental appointment and just never left! Metz is an extremely professional and caring dentist that makes you feel you're getting the care that you deserve. They have an entire list of "comfort items" that you can choose from including noise canceling headphones which help immensely when getting fillings. Novocain shots are mostly painless and easy with him - which is saying a lot for someone that has a huge fear of needles! He runs a very tight ship at his practice and it's evident with the way that all the staff behave. I'm typically out of both cleaning and filling appointments in about 40 minutes. The front desk staff, specifically Trish, are warm and friendly. They handle the paperwork well and get you into and out of your appointment efficiently. Crystal, one of the hygienists, is very thorough and efficient with what she does. She is gentle and genuinely wants to talk to you and make conversation. She always remembers what we had talked about last even though it was around 6 months ago. The other hygienist, Brittany, used to be a little rougher and more painful a few years ago and since then I had started booking all of my cleaning appointments with Crystal. However, since Crystal was recently out, I booked my appointment with Brittany instead and she has greatly improved with her technique and is now much less painful. I'd feel comfortable booking my cleaning appointments with either of them now. Beginning with my very first visit, I was impressed by the personal attention the staff paid me, from getting to know my fears, concerns and goals to ensuring I was comfortable when in the chair by offering a blanket and noise canceling head phones. I had two nearly 3 hour procedures done (many cavities filled :-( plus a regular tooth cleaning). Each time, Dr. Metz or his staff took their time with me, asking if I wanted high level overviews or elaborate explanations of what was going on with my teeth. I liked seeing x-rays on screen and close up pictures of the treated areas, plus learning from detailed explanations of procedures and future prevention. To my surprise, I received a call from Dr. Metz himself asking how I was recovering after my first procedure. I was still sore and grumpy but hearing from him made me feel cared about. Vibrant Dentist Office was close to the neighborhood so my family and went and scheduled the standard dental hygiene appointments. First impression: the place is clean and the staff; from front desk to dental assistants to Dr. Metz himself were all very kind and attentive to how I felt as a patient etc. Fast forward to recently when I called in for tooth pain (admittedly ignoring my 6 month check up) the staff worked with me with the same, and got me in for another check up to which 3 cavities were found (2 upper left molars, bottom right molar). That day I was able to get the top two filled my Dr. Metz and within a short time I was out of there. Quick, easy, painless, and most of all, professional. The Dr and assistants really do care about and look out for your well being and piece of mind. This held true to when I went in for the last filling I needed on the bottom right molar. Overall love the work and peace of mind I get coming into the office to get work done. The office always feels like a great atmosphere to be in pre- and post- "op" if you will. Also, Dr. Metz (sorry for any misspelling btw) knows what he's doing and truly cares about your condition throughout the whole process, dental hygienists as well I gotta give them credit too. Negative: I agree with the comment below. Very aggressive treatment. They made a comment on how high my annual max was every time I went into the office. Was told I needed 6 crowns. I got 5 but my mouth was just aching all of the time so I ceased treatment. My last check up there, they told me I still needed the one I never got and another. Needless to say I started seeing another dentist and they told me I did NOT need additional crowns. Positive: cool toys, fancy dental equipment and friendly staff. I would not recommend unless you are extremely wealthy or don't mind your mouth aching for almost a year after treatment (and sporadically two years later). read more

This man is very aggressive when it comes to treatment. $10,463 worth aggressive! If it were up to him you'd have a crown on every tooth in your mouth. He told me I needed 12 fillings, and 4 crowns. I immediately told him, nope, I'm not your guy. He then told me I wasn't brushing my teeth right, I thought to myself "There's only one way to brush your teeth." I immediately jumped on the phone with two other dentist to get second opinions, without mentioning that I had already seen this dentist. The two other dentist I saw didn't top $1,000. I just left my last dentist, and he said I need 4 fillings, no mention of 4 crowns, or the other 8 fillings this dentist said I needed. At the end of my appt. I pointed out to my new dentist what this man said I needed filled. The new dentist looked at me as if I was stupid, and said "those are stains why would he want to drill into healthy teeth?" I know he's going to come back with a rebuttal reply, hence he's done it to most reviews. But I have nothing to lose here, only the $10,000, he tried to scam out of me. read more

I found Vibrant Dentistry when looking up dentists on google maps and I'm glad I picked this one. They treat you very well and are extremely polite. I'm very fond of the "comfort menu" that they offer which makes your visit to the dentist a lot more enjoyable. I feel very comfortable and relaxed when visiting Dr Metz at his practice and trust that he knows what he is doing. He is extremely professional and his bedside manner is excellent. He is extremely details oriented and will do what it takes to make sure your teeth are healthy and looking good. I have always been the kid that was scared of the dentist till i came here. My first visit was with Dr. Metz was really comfortine. After doing xrays, he went though exactly what he expected to do. I asked so many questions, he even has a book to help explain, if you are a visual learner like me. He definitely pulled out the "kid" gloves on me and it was much appreciated. My Husband Also came here and Dr. Metz recognized that no baby gloves needed for him and was able to seamlessly switch gears to what his patients needs were. I've been going to Dr. Metz for about 3 years now, and the astounding efficiency and professionalism exhibited by himself and the entire staff is in no way diminished by the personable, caring conduct that has reassured me every time I climb into the hot seat. My roommate from college is a Dentist whom I've gone to since getting out of school back in the late 80's (he's out of state). I must say I never knew what I was missing until I had a dental emergency and was referred by a friend to Dr. Metz. Their office cares, are empathetic and appreciative of you as a person and do everything within their power to comfort you in an otherwise difficult situation. Blankets, headphones, massage/touch to distract you from the challenges psychologically for some, the Dentist office brings, are what you can expect. I've read a few of the other recommendations here and agree Vibrant is proactive in their approach to your teeth...I have had no problem saying "no"..."I'll fix others when they become needed". I will say that they've been right more than wrong...each of the teeth they've commented are troubled have since broken and have needed capped. If telling you what you don't want to here is a concern, then they may not be your place of choice...it's not THEIR fault your mouth is challenged (at least I can accept that)! read more

I heard really good things about Dr. Metz, so I decided to go in for a consultation. Several years ago, I had a root canal done on one of my upper incisors. It turned dark over time and I was embarrassed to smile. My old dentist wasn't willing to fix it. I like how Dr. Metz is upfront when he gives patients information. He gave me two options to choose from, so I chose option A which was internal bleaching. I am very happy with the results. There is a noticeable night and day difference and now I am much more confident about my smile. Dr. Metz even calls to check up on patients after treatments. I also love the front office staff. They always have a warm smiles, and kind words. Dr. Metz is very honest and informative. I personally have been so impressed with Dr. Metz and his staff that I have recommended his services to close to a dozen friends and family. They have all been just as impressed and referred others as well. I had a sore tooth and need to find a regular dentist. I found Dr. Metz and was impressed with his office and staff. I received a tour of the office and was shown the machine they use to make tooth caps/crowns right in their office! It is so cool that they can do that. No longer waiting a few days for a tooth to come in and no return visit to get the cap put on. I also saw the Dental Hygienist and received a good teeth cleaning. It was about as comfortable a cleaning as one can be. Overall I was happy with my visits here and I will be recommending friends if they are in need. read more

Dr. Metz and his amazing staff have single-handedly converted me from an ani-dentai into someone who looks forward to his dental appointments and has healthier teeth today than at any point prior in his life.
