I was once a happy customer, but unfortunately my experience with Advanced Car Stereo has gone downhill. I had a system installed in my Polaris Slingshot about a year and a half ago, and since then I've had to return to the shop at least 6 times for ongoing issues with the equipment. I don't live nearby, so every visit meant arranging and paying for an Uber after dropping off my vehicle, which has been extremely inconvenient. I also want to be clear--I spent a lot of money here. Not just a small amount, but a few thousand dollars. For that kind of investment, I expected quality and reliability. Instead, I'm now being told my equipment is basically no good anymore. So what does that mean--I'm supposed to spend thousands of dollars every year and a half just to keep a working system? That's unacceptable. The biggest issue is the quality of the equipment. I was told I was getting aqua/marine-grade products, but that clearly hasn't been the case. The system has not held up the way it should, especially for what was promised. Customer service was also disappointing. When I asked to speak with the owner/manager, I was given multiple excuses before I was finally able to speak with him in person--and even then, it was excuse after excuse. Instead of solutions, I got no real accountability. On top of that, the initial inspection and diagnosis were not thorough. I was told over the phone that they would "call me back again after doing a more thorough inspection," which raised concerns about how carefully things were being handled in the first place. Lastly, the warranty they promote doesn't seem to actually exist in practice. When issues came up, there was no real support or accountability. Overall, I'm very frustrated. What started as a good experience turned into repeated problems, wasted time, and added expenses. I would not recommend this shop based on my experience. read more

I bought my system from there three years ago and the amp was installed under the passenger seat. I get my car detailed regularly so everything so and water damaged my amp and was told it needed to be replaced. i was very upset because that was thousands of dollars down the drain. The owner gave me a great deal and even gave me free items to make up for the headache and aggravation and even installed for me the same day. I have been to this place several times. I got a subwoofer installed in my dodge charger and was pleased till the speaker blew 3 months later. Then I requested a quote for a speaker underneath the passenger seat of my truck and the quotes were outrageous. Lastly I referred my gf here to get speakers installed in her slingshot Polaris. I can honestly say I truly respected the little guy with glasses who I no longer see anymore. Anyways, my gf got her speakers installed along with some amazing lights. It was a blast... till the speakers blew a couple months later. Not to mention they requested not to exceed a volume of 30 which we completely abided by. I'm beginning to think their equipment is trash. She spent A LOT of money on marine grade equipment being that the slingshot is considered a motorcycle and will be driven in all weather conditions. Unfortunately after a year the radio and speakers have all gone to shit. Since the warranty is only 1 year she has no choice but to get everything replaced. Basically their hardware is crap, if you want long lasting bad ass speakers, this is NOT your place to go. Trash Trash Trash is all I can say. The amp and small sub recommendation were all Advanced Stereo. Please don't don't try to insult my intelligence. Second, the $50 refund you issued was for the crappy work you performed on my Jaguar, and my time you wasted. I was told the car would be done that same day, but you didn't have all the required pieces, so it should be done on Monday. It was not a big deal. But then I received a phone call on Monday late afternoon letting me know that the car was still not ready but would be ready on Tuesday. Again, no big deal. Tuesday came and went, and I didn't hear from anyone at your shop. I called on Wednesday afternoon to find out my car was ready to be picked up. Mind you, no one can give me a straight answer to when my car was completed because each story I'm told is differed. Not only is your installation work horrible and lacks pride in workmanship, but you guys lie and can't get your stories straight. So I went to retrieve my car and get home, open my trunk and IT IS IN SHAMBLES because your shop lacks pride in its work. The photos of my trunk are below so your potential customers can see how you operate and run in another direction. And the credit you speak of was supposed to be $100 from your original offer since you would make it right. I told you I wasn't trying to come up on you after you offered me money and subs and, as you put it, "whatever I want" to make me happy. My only request was to be reimbursed for my wasted time. Over the course of 4 visits, my approval went from being absolutely disgusted with this place, insisting never to return, to being overjoyed with the work that was done. Virtually all of the credit is to be given to the owner, Ramin, who from a place of humility and great responsibility, recognized a problem and did everything to take care of it. Kudos to Ramin for getting his team back on the right page and doing a great install job! After spending approximately 12k or more there to fix up my Jeep and I am very very disappointed... I bought a complete stereo system in addition a $700 woofer, bumpers, grill, inner fenders, spacers, a lift, wheels, XRC body, upgraded headlights etc. (after they worked on my jeep it got the "death wobble which cost me another $2000 to fix). The first pioneer stereo malfunctioned and stopped working , bought another and it went out too, They supposedly sent the second one back to the manufacturer to get fixed because it was still under warranty. Meanwhile I put in a Sony while I waited for my stereo to get repaired by the manufacturer... I never got it back from the manufacturer.. no word on it, nothing. So I've been in the shop several times to check the status and nobody knows anything about it. I went in AGAIN yesterday to have the owner call me back to check on the status and got a blank stare and NO RETURN PHONE CALL..."I asked for the owner to call me... I got silence. They just do not care...I've bought 3 stereos. The third was under the new owner and Robert helped me but he is no longer there and my stereo that I spent over 300 for that malfunctioned has vanished.. I think that they just do not care since I bought a 3rd stereo and I'm upset.. I got not even a return call after personally going in there to request a call back and I got NOTHING. DO NOT GO HERE! Very bad service. Uncompleted a stereo installation. Wanted to charge more to finish the job. New owner will not work with you. Couldn't believe a simple stereo installation would be such a hassle. They broke the original vent housing around factory stereo and missing screws.edit as you can see no apology for the broken vent cover. They will take your money first with no refunds or exchanges because 9 times out of 10 the customer will be unhappy with the work provided. Save yourself time and money, go elsewhere. Quoted 150 over the phone. Got there now it was 250, to finish the job another $150. read more

I called the store to asked to be removed from their promotional texts for services etc. I called three times for the last month to ask to be removed but an employee or the manager (Jason) ignored my wishes, called me a "FUCKING PUSSY!" then hung up the phone. I called back to ask for the owner of the store but was hung-up on again. I called another location for their corporate number and was told that this location is no longer apart of the company chain, they are independent and have that, "We can do and say whatever we want to out customers." Several months ago I brought in my pickup truck to purchase and install a complete sound system. I worked with salesman Jason, he was actually great to work with on coming up with a plan, and although costly, I had high hopes of this being a great experience. Unfortunately the nightmare was about to begin. The promised install time was 1 day but turned into 3...not that big of a deal. The problem began when I brought the truck home. I went outside one morning a few days later to go to work and the truck wouldn't start... dead battery. I jump started it and replaced the battery later that evening as I assumed it was just an old battery that had reached its lifetime. However, over the next week I would come out every other morning to a dead truck, having to constantly call and use all of my available AAA service calls for jump starting as the truck battery would be so drained that not even my portable jumper box would suffice. I brought the truck back into this shop and asked them to go over the installation to see if something might have been wired wrong that keeps draining the battery. They told me that a technician looked at it, and determined the battery was leaking acid, that was why it would go dead. I was shocked to hear this, as I personally just replaced the battery. Well that ofcourse was a total LIE, the battery was in perfect condition. Frustrated, I replaced the battery once again just to make sure. Once again, the truck would be dead after a few days of sitting out in the driveway. Out of mistrust of this company, I hired an outside auto shop to diagnose the problem. They charged me $180 and determined the cause to be an amplifier that Advanced stero installed that is "stuck on" even when the truck is off. I took the receipt/invoice with me and returned to this shop to explain the diagnosis and request their resolve. They promised to look into it and reimburse me. After a few hours the technician called me and denied any problem with their installation. He told me that the battery was being drained due to construction warning lights that are installed on the truck. Even though these lights aren't on, he said that is the problem. I informed him that I'm an electrician and that its impossible for lights to drain a battery if the lights are not on. (Infact its COMMON SENSE). He rudely replied that if I'm an electrician I should have wired the warning lights better! No reimbursement for me, and no acknowledgment of wrong doing on their part. I picked up the truck and went home to endure several more weeks of dead batteries resulting in being late for work and other inconveniences. I then took the truck to a third shop for a diagnosis. Surprise! They found the problem again to be the amplifier provided and installed by Advanced Stereo to be the cause of battery drain. I am no longer trusting Advanced Stereo to resolve this situation and have instead paid out of pocket over a thousand dollars to replace this faulty amplifier by another shop, including the cost suffered to replace several batteries and shop diagnostic fees. I encourage everyone to take this experience into consideration and look elsewhere for any work done to your property. This company clearly does not stand behind their work and has no problem lying to their customers. read more

I am a 71 y o woman with limited computer skills. I had lost my car keys, the Locksmith changed ignition & door locks. As a result, my radio was disconnected from the battery. I had no idea how to reset my radio stations, sound, and etc. Mike at Advance Stereo in Riverside took over my problems. He had the radio reconnected, after the radio was reconnected properly I saw instruction/info I had not saw before. The service included setting the device to open and lock my doors, and every else I couldn't reconnect. Mike, did me a great service. The job was quick and charged very little money. My original review was for 1 star. However, Jason, the general manager, reached out to me to ensure me that they would make everything right. They offered to give a full return for any components that were not right, to throw in line converters, to correct the signal coming out of my stock head. As a bonus they added sound dampening to the doors to help with the sound. Also, they would not charge for the labor on this project until I was satisfied. They ended up swapping out an amp for a better one, and added a dsp to fine tune the sound. To my amazement, they even installed tweeters three different times to find the ones that sounded best in my car. I also decided to add a sub. My system now sounds amazing. I drive around with a huge smile on my face because the music is incredible. now sounds amazing. Thanks Jason. I was skeptical after my original experience, but am now a satisfied customer. Anybody can make a mistake, but the way Advanced Car Stereo fixed the problem is the mark of a good business. I will definitely use them again. Original Review: I came in to get my 2019 civic stereo sounding good. I was sold an Audio Control component set for the door and coaxials for the door and a JC Power amp. With install about $1200. Seemed a little steep but I was excited to get some good sound. I was told it would take about three or for hours. Eventually, I was told they would probably finish by closing. I waited about 8 hours in over 100 degree weather. When I finally got my car, it sounded pretty bad. But I needed to get home. When I called the next day they said to bring it in and they would retune. 2 more hours in the shop there was a slight improvement, but still bad. I noticed the speakers they installed in the rear were different than the ones they sold me. I paid for 6x9s they installed 5.25" The car fits 6.25. To their credit they did replace with the correct speakers. This was visit number 3. Still sounds disappointing. Now the front right tweeter is crackling badly and the front left tweeter only works sometimes. They told me to bring it in again and they can fix it. So for $1200 and about 10 hours of installing I'm left with a system that is a downgrade from stock. I'm reluctant to bring my car back in. read more

So disappointed I've been a long time customer for over 20 years. I drive 2 hours because Tony was trustworthy. Today I tried to make an appointment to just have my stereo looked at and a few wires moved back up in the dash. I was told by the new owner that there's only a 2 month warranty! WTF? I spent nearly $10K and now the new owner says read your receipt. I was told numerous times oh if you have any issues bring it back in. I had two different installs and the wire issue is from the last upgrade less then a year ago. Not to mention that they wired my amps directly to the positive and had to have that rewired by the dealer and a new battery. I didn't even bother contacting Advance Stereo Riverside for either screw up. Things have definitely changed .I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. To many issues and terrible customer service. Walked in this place Friday to surprise my son (who just had his wisdom teeth removed, which is neither here nor there). We recently purchased a vehicle without AppleCar play and I was hoping this place would be helpful. Damien was heading out for lunch but let me know the items we had were not compatible and we needed their supplier's wares. I was rushed through the paperwork, my own fault I missed the fine print. I completed the purchase and upon reaching home my son explained he had already purchased a system elsewhere and installation is to be done Monday closer to his home in Los Angeles. I called to cancel the transaction not even 2 hours after the interaction and was told I needed to contact the owner Monday because all sales are final. Ok, so why wasn't that pointed out before running my card? Why wasn't it made transparent and made clear before you rushed me through paperwork, so you could go to lunch? I usually avoid businesses like this due to poor business practices. From reading the reviews, there's nothing I want from this store, a store credit was mentioned but I would prefer my money back. We'll see what happens after I speak to the owner. It's a shame that things like this still happen. Update: 4/1/24 for the Riverside ACS. I called as requested to speak to the owner at 9:00 am. Hello everyone I bought new door speakers for my Tahoe because the old ones were blown out. I walked in on 6/23/24 and got greeted by three salesmen but the manager Jason was asking me questions and how I use the stereo and really knew a lot about the different speakers. I bought audio control door speakers and they were a decent price and it wasn't expensive to have them installed. They were really fast with the insulation of the door speakers and when they were finished the installer helped me tune them to my preference. I highly recommend everyone to come here. Bought new speakers for my car and used their financing because they said there was no interest and it would be paid off in 4 months. 8 months later I am still making payments and Katapult, the finance company, does not respond to any attempts at contacting them. The speakers cost me double because of this! As far as the service at advanced stereo... the installers left the old speakers all over my car, and greasy finger prints on my window. I will not be returning to get a new stereo installed I would rather pay a little more somewhere else. In reply to the business owner... I tried paying it sooner and tried contacting them but never got a single response in 6 months or trying! The additional payments I sent just sit there while I continue to pay a 100% interest rate!
