Super friendly guys that were open to lots of questions while we did our taste testing. Ended up getting several bottles of goodies. Vodka- Great flavor and extremely smooth Wheat Whiskey- Bold yet smooth Another whiskey that I can't remember the name of. No it's not because it was the 3rd shot I tasted that I couldn't remember the name hahaha. Also bought a real cool Whiskey Kit that comes with everything to make your own whiskey! Very cool and can't wait to give it a try. We will be back

The guy working today was delightful to talk to. Tried everything but vodka and gin. My favorite was rhubarb but they were sold out for purchase. I understand why it is delicious I would buy a case! My husband's favorite was coffee liqueur which they had and we have happily taken home a bottle.

Finding Absinthe is rare, but Pilot House has it, and it's the real deal with the wormwood. They even have the absinthe pour tap, so they can do it up right. In addition to the absinthe, which I absolutely had to get, I also ordered a gin flight. My server, John, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The patrons there were all friendly. The atmosphere was comfortable and they had plenty of swag. I bought a tiny bottle of absinthe and a sweatshirt, so I would have fond memories of that fine establishment every time I wore it.

We ended up doing a flight of their Gin and the regular was still by far our favorite. We saw them at the market that weekend a purchased a bottle to bring home! Truly the best Gin I have ever had! I would also like to say as someone who runs a non profit animal rescue Pilot House Distilling donated towards our auction. I put two and two together later. Just goes to show how much they support local.

Walking in we were greeted with friendliness and seated in an area that we liked. The hostess steered us to a talk that wasn't cold - since that was the one thing I mentioned. I hate being cold. :) I was lucky enough to order their cheeseburger from the happy hour menu. I think it is the same as the one on the regular menu. I had expected just a burger and was pleased to see it came with fries. Our server was prompt, helpful, and nice... the whole team was. The burger was a smash tyupe burger and I found the texture of the meat pleasing and tasty, just a bit of crust as some many people love on a smash burger. The condiments we fresh enough and had good flavor. When I say fresh enough I mean that the lettuce and onions didn't have a crunch to them, but they weren't mushy. Overall one of the better burgers so far. This venue would be good for anything from a family meal to some afterwork laughs or even a romantic dinner. The only reason it didn't get the fifth star is because of the condiments not being nice and crunchy. Solid place to eat and I would recommend.

John & Jennifer had a dream and they have made it reality with their passion, hard work and dedication and it shows! We came to Sandstone Distillery through Harvest Host, a membership program that offers unique overnight stays for RV'ers. We arrived on a day the tasting room wasn't open however John & Jennifer graciously opened their doors for us and gave us and evening we'll forever remember! My husband and I each had a different tasting, one was amber spirits and one was clear spirits. The tasting also came with some premixed cocktails they offer. With each spirit and cocktail, John told their story which created a genuine interest in the spirits! We sipped each one and learned so much about the process and passion that it takes to create amazing spirits. We walked away with three different bottles and returned two days later for 3 more!! Jennifer has also created some utterly amazing sipping vinegars, Wild Heart Sipping Vinegar, and will offer a tasting of those as well, make sure you taste them, they're phenomenal! We had a great time at Sandstone Distillery and will definitely be back!

But we do like to change it up and go to a distillery or a winery frim time to time. Stopping at Sandstone was just the perfect stop for this change of pace. We had a small taster set of a few of their different spirits which were great. Everything we had was wonderful and Steve bought a bottle of vodka I believe to take home. The staff were wonderful as they were very friendly and took us around on a small tour going over the distilling process and the history of the equipment there. This was a great stop and one worth making stops at whenever you are nearby. I also believe you can get their products online or at select stores.

"Dam Good Whiskey!" -- A Beaver's Review of Westward Distillery…read more Well chew my bark and call me industrious--Westward Distillery has crafted a whiskey so fine it made my tail thump like a drum on spring thaw! I waddled in skeptical. After all, we beavers know a thing or two about craftsmanship: sharp teeth, strong wood, steady paws. But the moment those folks poured me a sample of their American Single Malt, I realized I was in the presence of fellow artisans--humans who build with barley the way I build with birch. The aroma? Like sniffing a warm cedar log at sunset, with a hint of orchard fruit drifting downstream. The taste? Smooth as a freshly planed maple branch, with a delicious grain character that made me contemplate abandoning dam construction to pursue professional sipping full-time. The finish? Long, warm, and rich--lingering like the satisfaction of placing the final stick on a perfectly engineered lodge roof. And don't get me started on the place itself. The distillery is polished, welcoming, and smells pleasantly of oak instead of predators. The staff? Delightful! Not one of them tried to trap me, and they spoke about their whiskey with the passion of creatures who truly love their craft. Westward, my whiskered friends, you have built something remarkable. If I had opposable thumbs, I'd raise a glass. Instead, I'll slap my tail in tribute: THWAP THWAP THWAP! That's beaver for "EXQUISITE WORK, KEEP IT UP."
