#THANKYOUTHURSDAY On…read morethe way home from our Cannon Beach overnight trip last weekend, we decided to swing through the Seaside Outlets. I mean, what kind of Washingtonian are you if you don't stop at at least ONE outlet mall? No tax, people... We mainly came to the outlets for Nike, Bath & Body Works, and Carter's. Being wine & beer lovers though, the name of this spot intrigued us. We were pleased to not find anybody else in the store except for the older gentleman working. The store is laid out nicely and is spacious. They've definitely got more wine than they do beer, but they've got a lot of both. The wine selection is phenomenal. So much! They've got wines from Oregon, California, and Washington. So many different kinds. I had a blast looking over all the different bottles and making my selections. My husband was also really happy with the beer offerings here. If you want to enjoy something in the store, you're able to do so. They have both wine & beer on tap available for consumption in the store. I didn't get the gentleman's name who was working, but he was so sweet and so helpful. I was having troubles picking between a few certain wines, and he helped make my decision and it was clear he was super passionate and knowledgeable about the products. Going further on that, he noticed my husband's beer selections and suggested a handful of other beers for him based off of the flavors he seemed to like - aka, we bought more beer than my husband intended ;) Even after grabbing two bottles of wine, and quiiite a bit of beer, after discount we only spent $60! There was a discount for a certain amount of cans (15% off for 8 I believe) and on the wines I snagged apparently too, which saved us $12. Highly recommend stopping by The Wine & Beer Haus if wine and beer is your jam. Outside of the wine & beer we got, the service was spectacular and I can only hope all the employees who work here are like the older gentleman who helped us out the day we were in. They were about to finish tastings for the day so he told us to let them know he sent us over. We went next door and told the woman working that we'd like to taste. She was not super friendly or welcoming. Maybe because it was the end of the day? I can understand that. The guest winemaker poured our wines. He didn't take time to greet us or explain any of his wines to us. Just poured, said which one we were on, and walked away. Our second to last tasting left so much sediment in the bottom of the glass, which we know happens with reds. But we thought surely he would give us a fresh glass for the final pour. Nope. We planned to head back to the shop to buy some of The Wine Shack's label, but we were so disappointed by the tasting experience that we did not. I wish everyone there had had the energy and spirit of the man in the shop. It certainly would've changed our experience.

The atmosphere was comfortable and they had plenty of swag. I bought a tiny bottle of absinthe and a sweatshirt, so I would have fond memories of that fine establishment every time I wore it.

The Willapa Bay oysters were served with a tangy mignonette, which was pretty darn good. I can say the lobster roll was good too, as they tasted crunchy and creamy. All in all, great seafood! My main critique is that portions were considerably small for the amount I paid for the food. I left satisfied but not full, so I would not come here if you're craving something more satiating. The restaurant is formatted to be more of a sports bar, good for socialization, drinking and having small bites.

We've been a couple times, most recently for a Jazz on the River night. It was actually a Blues night with Lloyd Jones, who has shared stages and spotlights with Albert Collins, Cray, Raitt, McClinton, Taj Mahal, B.B. King, Dr. John, John Hammond, Junior Wells and Buddy Guy! The drinks are always excellent at Pacifik Distillers. The ambiance is great, sitting in a 125+ year old brick building on the waterfront. The tables are beautiful, and the chairs are really comfortable. A great place to relax and shake off the cold air. The food options are limited, but you're choosing quality over quantity when you head over to Pacifik Distillers. The prices are a little high for what you're getting, but the food sure is tasty! The service is great, and everyone is really friendly! We plan to make more regular trips to Pacifik Distillers.
