Normally, I like to be present for inspections, but because it didn't work out this time, my wife was there. After several estimates, she settled on Bug Baron for their clear explanation of the treatment, professionalism, and willingness to get their hands dirty and be thorough in locating termite activity. I had The Termite Guy come out since they did the last service over 5 years ago, and they were not as thorough. Not to mention, they focused more on selling me on the company, yet were not willing to do anything that would give me the impression they had identified the issue, so I went with Bug Baron. Simon, my point of contact, is a pro. He was always responsive, willing to answer my questions, and patient in dealing with my schedule. Given that I had received so many estimates, he price matched what i had been quoted. I got some humane "mouse motels" that capture them live, and then released them. But, when one scampered up on the sofa next to me to say Howdy, I decided it was time to take care of the problem! Jason, the owner of Versa-Tech came to my home to inspect and evaluate the problem. I told him I didn't want to use poison or glue traps. He recommended a 4 to 6-week "rodent abatement" program. They laid traps in the attic, the house and the crawl space, and meticulously inspected the outside of my house for every possible entry point, securing them with foam and mesh wiring to block entry. They also replaced one of my crawlspace doors. The company then sent their guys out 4 times at weekly intervals to check and reset the traps. They did such a dandy job of sealing my house against rodent entry that they only found two, which were in the crawl space traps. And I had no more little visitors in the house! Today, they collected the traps, leaving two in the attic and two in the crawlspace just in case, and I have a one year warranty. These people are true professionals. They know their field. They were friendly and nice to have around, respectful of my property, and showed up when they said they would - all the things you want in a company. I doubt I'll ever have another little mouse greet me on my sofa, but if I do, I'll call VERSA-TECH!!

During the process, I came in contact with about a half dozen team members, all of whom were friendly, professional, and personally concerned with our wellbeing. That was important because I found that ridding a home of rodents is not easily achieved. The initial step was to survey the house, seal potential entry sites, then set the traps. The HS team completed the process and set up an appointment to check the traps. after a couple visits, we still heard the vermin scratching around. So, HS brought in a senior inspector who found a few open areas I never would have thought to identify (openings between the outside wall and the foundation that were tucked up underneath the visible area). Those areas were sealed and within ten days, we no longer heard anything. I check of the traps today revealed a large intruder had been eliminated. Home shield performed like partners in our quest to eliminated rodents from our home. They came back as often as needed without complaint and escalated appropriately to assure our problem was solved. And importantly, they never once questioned our reports of hearing critters.
