Adele's has been my husband's go to restaurant for decades. Lately we have not been in Wheaton so have not experienced Adele's in its present "form". It was my son's 56th birthday this past week so we took his family there. We were a bit surprised that there was so few people in the restaurant on a weekend evening..until we noted that the prices were high . No soup or salad, not even bread, came with the expensive menu. The food I ordered was so bad, this woman who can eat almost any thing, had to take it home . My dogs would not touch the meat so I gave it to the crows who were grateful for the calories on that snowy night. We won't be back . read more

What a great time I had. Atmosphere was nice and the food was really good. I got the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and garlic beans. The meatloaf had a small amount of something on top of it that was tasty. Loved the mashed potatoes. The beans had some kind of seasonings on them that was good. I did not really taste the garlic. Of course I LIKE garlic so maybe that is why I felt that way. No room for dessert. I drink brewed ice tea. I am always hesitant to order it. I have to say it was tasty too. The true gem of the evening was Amy our server. She was so friendly and down to earth. More important helpful and a great server. The night at Adele's was a winner! read more

We ordered a ton of delicious Thanksgiving sides for our family celebration and Adelle's didn't disappoint. Too many great things to mention because they all tasted homemade just like Mom used to make, but I think the highlights were the mashed yukon potatoes (so buttery) and probably the best fresh pumpkin pie we've ever tasted. They boxed them up for easy pickup and provided clear instructions for heating. Thank you for helping make this holiday super convenient and special with delicious and fresh ingredients. read more

We came here for dine in the 1st night they allowed it during Covid. It wasn't our intention to eat inside but it was monsooning outside so it was a huge plus that it was offered. All the staff was amazing and properly donned in PPE. Everything was cleaned and the table were properly social distanced. AFter the rain started, they accommodated the people on the patio so they could eat inside and not get hit with sideways rain. The food, wow! We both ordered hangar steak and wow, amazing! Just had another fresh cod dinner with the delicious cole slaw and fries. It was just wonderful! I can't make it this delicious if I did it in my own kitchen! My dessert was a slice of heaven in Flourless chocolate cake covered with mousse and fresh whipped cream with a cherry on top with a mint leaf. The attention to detail is refreshing! My husband and I tried them and just wasn't impressed with the food and felt it was over priced.

We we have been coming here since 2018 and have never had a bad meal until today. They must have a new chef and we were disappointed to say the least. My pregnant wife ordered the Halibut and the center was raw. I ordered my duck breast medium rare and it came out blue. My wife sent back the Halibut and initially the waiter offered to waive the dish. The waiter came back and let us know that chef claimed that it was only slightly under and was willing to offer free desserts. We reluctantly accepted the offer but should have asked to speak with the manager. We also heard the table next to us complain about their Salmon being under. We will not be returning. As a side note they make a great dirty martini but the old fashioned is made with Maraschino cherries so that should tell you all you need to know. read more

Recently had a bridal shower at Adelle's and it was a huge success. The West room was perfect. Group event contacts were amazing and super-helpful with planning the room setup, accommodating special requests for the menu, helping with decorating suggestions, and attending to every detail both before and on the day of the event. Wait and bar staff were wonderful. Food was spectacular-everyone commented on how much they enjoyed it. Plenty of parking and easy for ADA. All-in-all a great experience. Dined there prior to booking just to try the food and everything we tried on their regular menu was so good that it made our decision easy despite the banquet selection not on the regular menu (it should be). I highly recommend this restaurant for normal dining and special events. read more

We had dinner at Adelle's Fine American Fare for a special occasion and had an enjoyable meal. Given that it was a nice night, we sat outside on their patio. Aside from trying to dodge the sun (which is out of anyone's control) the patio is very serene and peaceful. There is a nice balance of tables and decor (plants, etc.) and it feel semi-private and is rather quiet. The service reflected the same no-rush feel, which we enjoyed just as much as the food. Between the appetizers and the entrees we had a little bit of everything, but what particularly stuck out to me was the fish entrée that was on special - I highly recommend giving the specials a try, it was delicious! The prices are a bit on the higher side but you expect that given the crowd they are shooting for here - more upscale but not super fancy. It was a treat and we'll certainly consider it in the future. read more

Adelle's is one of the top restaurants in the suburbs of Chicago. A scratch kitchen that provides you with large portions and food made with fresh ingredients. This was my second time back and I decided on the Meatloaf. The meatloaf are two heaping slices of tender meat and can easily go down as the best I have ever had. The house made chipolte ketchup perfectly complements the loaf and the mashed potatoes and green beans really round out the meal. You really can't go wrong with what you order, as everyone in my family loved their meal as well. The dessert menu changes every week as well and provides numerous options that are excellent. If you are ever in Wheaton, this is a must try. Reasonable prices, great atmosphere, spectacular food. read more

We were looking for a nice spot to listen to music and enjoy my husbands birthday. Being a Thursday there weren't many spots with live music during dinnertime (to my surprise) but I did find a couple and settled on Adelle's. I made the reservation and informed staff it was my husbands birthday. We arrived and seated ourselves at a table in the bar (which we had requested to listen to music) we were greeted fairly quickly by the bartender/staff and ordered our drinks. When time came for the dinner we were asking questions about two dishes and the server answered the questions but was very dry and to the point, even after my husband made a minor joke, the server just looked at him like 'make up your mind'. That was a bit of a turn off. I ordered the Salmon,which I will say was cooked perfectly and delicious! My husband ordered the Cod tacos and was disappointed. With the mango sauce, cucumber and all the toppings he expected flavorful seasoned tacos and he indicated they were bland and the tortillas were cold and hard. When the manager walked by and asked how things were, my husband told him his tacos were bland and among the other missing flavors the jalapeno flavor was also missing. The manager did try to remedy the fault by bringing out fresh and pickled jalapenos and the server also brought out Tabasco sauce - cuddos for their effort-. We were never offered another drink and finally my husband asked the busboy for a to go container and the bill because the server did not come back. Finally the server came back and I mentioned it was my husbands bday, than he dryly asked if we wanted a dessert menu ( I wondered if he heard me). We opted out of dessert, he brought us our bill and we paid and left. Not horrible service but not exceptional or even good for that matter. At best they just took the order and put the meals on the table, we didn't feel serviced. One good meal one not good meal and two mediocre drinks (nothing fancy we ordered vodka and ginger ale) $80+ later ....we would have expected to enjoy and have a better time. We were looking forward to this experience, but we will NOT be going back. read more

Written as a vegetarian - the latest version of the menu here lists zero vegetarian entrees, which is a bit surprising in this day and age. ("We have several salads," noted the woman who took my reservation.) They are very accommodating at helping you modify existing entrees to make them vegetarian (try the vegetable risotto) but you'll be paying the same price as the people getting duck, sausage and scallops in their dishes. And while the food is pretty good, it's not good enough to pay meat prices for vegetables. The vegetable pasta features a nice sprinkling of asparagus, but is otherwise fairly unremarkable; the vegetable risotto is creamy, generously Parmesan'd, and again features a nice amount of asparagus. The adult root beer float was tasty (though the chocolate chip cookies with it were cold and crumbly); the chocolate mousse spoke only mildly of chocolate, though the raspberry coulis it was served with was tasty and well-balanced. As I recall, the key lime pie is also pretty good. As my dining companion said, "You knew what you were getting into when you came here." He's right. So come here if you've got a gift certificate, or if you're with a group, and pick your way through the side dishes, or try the salad. It really is pretty good. read more

Our friends and family hosted our baby shower at Adelle's a few weeks ago, and I don't have anything but great things to say! Obviously, I cannot speak to what normal dinner service is like, but our experience was wonderful. Remarkably, there is no room fee to host an event. They do have a 25 guest minimum, but we had a few people cancel last minute (cold and flu season). Rather than not letting us use the space, they just charged us for the three fewer people, but we got to take their meals home so it wasn't like we were paying for nothing. I will also say that I was worried about possible train noise because the restaurant is right on the train tracks. I'm sure trains went by, but I didn't hear or notice anything at all! They also have their own parking lot on the side and there are metered spots in front, so there was more than ample parking for our guests' needs. My best friend said that working with the staff at Adelle's was top notch from beginning to end. They made everything very easy for the shower. My mom dropped off decorations the night before and the staff put everything out for no extra charge. There was no fee for cutting the cake for us. The wait staff was attentive but never overbearing. The event room is beautiful and cozy - it was absolutely perfect for our shower! They have a very generous menu of meal options to choose from, and you get to select a soup or salad and an entree (which also includes entree salads, quiche, or more traditional meat and pasta options). Everything comes with warm, delicious bread and butter. For our first course, we chose the salad with field greens, strawberries, oranges, goat cheese crumbles, toasted almonds, and raspberry vinaigrette for the salad. It was so tasty! For the entree, we selected the parmesan crusted chicken breast with grilled asparagus, cheddar mashed potatoes, onion strings, and tomato butter sauce. The chicken was tender and juicy, the asparagus was cooked perfectly, and the mashed potatoes were anything but flavorless. All and all, if you're looking to host a small get together in the western suburbs, I would highly recommend Adelle's. I'm excited to visit again sometime for dinner the next time I'm in town visiting my parents! read more

Heard good things about this place took my fiancé there for a nice romantic dinner and was very pleased. We sat outside in the nice cozy patio. Service and food were exceptional. One of the only places any more that uses U10 shrimp. I love good shrimp in my pasta but not the little tiny ones. The menu is good you can also get certain things on the menu as sides which is a nice thing. They also had a nice warm loaf of bread with honey butter which was excellent. A very nice wine list and a good drink menu. Great place to take your significant other for a nice romantic dinner. Or if you just want to go and have some good food that's not crazy expensive. I haven't been here since they moved from their College Station location.. boy have I been missing out. I was surprised by the atmosphere, it's much nicer inside than I expected.. I was thinking it would feel more "strip-mally" (Is that a thing?) The menu is excellent, The food was 5 star quality.. service a touch sketchy, I was -thisclose- to 5 stars... I'll go back and try again **A "small plate" is an appetizer, right? Well in my world it is. There were four of us and about 7 different small plates that we wanted to start with... we negotiated and whittled the list down to four: Duck Confit Gnocchi - OMG light and delicious! Grilled Meatloaf Sliders - Loved them, I traded a little Risotto for a little more of this Chilled Thai Lobster Spring Roll - Just the right touch of thai and you can still taste the lobster. Risotto (I think it was shrimp) Light and creamy, consensus was that this was some of the best Risotto that we have had. For dinner I ordered the Filet.. Boring you say? Well let me just say this: Pesto Mashed Potatoes. The steak was delicious, cooked perfectly and I loved, loved the potatoes. My wife, Lisa ordered the Andouille Crusted Scallops, she loved them.. but got to love them the next day too... **because apparently the small plates are more than just appetizers. Janet ordered the Pork Tenderloin Schnitzel, loved it! She said the braised red cabbage and lemon butter sauce set the whole thing off just right. And Adam got the Grilled Blue Cheese Crusted Flat Iron Steak, came with fries. and he thought it was delicious. We eat out together a lot and this was one of the best all around meals that we've had in a while. My companions shared the Turley Howell Mountain Zinfandel Service slipped on my initial beverage (he forgot my diet coke.. no biggie) but then I sat empty for most of the meal and had to ask for more. We ordered coffee and a couple of cold desserts (pecan pie and some sort of mousse thingee, see pic) The desserts were excellent, it was too bad that by the time they finally showed up, our coffee was long gone. I remember when they opened at the old location.. I was bummed that Cochon Sauvage was gone (a little french bistro) but we were pleased with Adelle's and felt it a worthy replacement. They were very good and we visited several times, somehow they got lost in the shuffle as we kept trying new places. Adelle's, we've been missing out. You are back in the rotation. read more

If you like risotto (and if you don't what the heck is wrong with you??) you NEED to get to Adelle's NOW! Okay, maybe make sure they are open first...or just camp out on their patio with a lawn chair & sleeping bag as I intend to from now on. Oh, and homemade soups...if you like those, then this place is simply WOW. And bread pudding...one of my fave desserts & the chef here hits it out of the ballpark! And, and, and...!!! The ambience & decor is beautiful (more on that later). We've been quite lucky to visit a number of restaurants lately which look fancy, taste fancy, give incredible service, but don't have that stuck-up attitude - and I'm happy to report Adelle's fits that description. The hubs had the risotto of the day & I kid you not, I wanted to shout, "Hey! What's that over there?" so he'd be distracted long enough to switch plates. It's not that my pistachio/honey/shallot crusted salmon wasn't good...it's just that I think anything else pales in comparison to their risottos. We've also tried 2 of their soups at some foodie fests (the corn chowder & the cream of mushroom were both swoon-worthy). The only disappointment in the food category was our calamari appetizer - it wasn't in the fryer long enough so the breading was a bit soft & came off very easily. It came with a tasty dipping sauce & a little salad which were both good. We finished off the night with two desserts, the Pistachio White Chocolate Bread Pudding & the Salted Caramel Gelato. The gelato was darned good but the bread pudding was the definite winner in the dessert death match. It was even damn good cold this morning for breakfast. Yes, I actually managed to NOT devour the whole thing the night before. ;-) Yes, they do have wine by the glass, it's just listed on the specials menu your server will give you & not on the big regular menu which does have all the bottles of wine they have. I like how they have a variety of wine & food price points as well. The glasses of wine ranged from $4 - $12. I tried an $8 Chenin Blanc from South Africa that was wonderfully crisp with nice fruit notes (sorry, that's about as descriptive as my limited wine knowledge goes...I just know what I like!). It was a bit too humid to dine out on their lovely patio so we sat inside & were pleased to see a whole wall of large windows so we had a perfect view of the patio. Once it became dark outside the little twinkle lights outside on the shrubs & trees looked so romantic. They do a fine job with perfect mood lighting inside, too, and I saw a few fireplaces as well. They have a room off to the side for larger groups and parties (there was a wine tasting dinner going on in that room while we were there) and they also have one big inset booth with screens that close for even more privacy. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE here was genuinely friendly. The hostess, the gentleman who filled our water (and those water glasses were never down more than a 1/2 cup before he was refilling them again), the busser, our server, all the other servers, & the chef - they all said hello, answered questions, when they saw we had the check and/or as we were walking out some would said thanks for coming in or have a nice evening, etc. - it was just a fabulously pleasant experience. read more

We really want to like this place, but we go only occasionally although its only a few miles away, because we've had uneven experiences: sometimes ok, sometimes not. Tonight we visited and I was very disappointed. I ordered the duck. It was way too salty and the accompanying vegetable stir-fry didn't go well with it. My wife ordered the scallops with grits which seemed better. The fried green tomato appetizer was nothing much. The waitress was very all-business, not very friendly which made things feel awkward. The patio is very pretty but the chairs they use are very uncomfortable which detracts from the experience. The patio was only half full but they kept us all cheek to cheek on one side while the other half was empty. Seemed unnecessary to corral us into one section. read more

It's been a while since my lovely wife and I had a nice dinner out as we are saving our sheckles (and calorie counts) for a big vacation trip, but last night we spent a beautiful summer evening with our friends on the outdoor patio at Adelle's. Our table was seated quickly after we arrived, water glasses filled and some wonderfully aromatic bread appeared. I was ready to order my usual Negroni when I saw something on the cocktail menu that I haven't had in quite a while, a Sazerac. It was a lovely rendition, served up, with a lemon peel. Very cold and refreshing while trying to decide on our meals. Our friendly server was great at explaining the dishes and, since this was our first visit, suggesting a few of the "shareables", noting that two of them would be more than enough for the both of us. The grilled romaine called out my name with Boursin cheese, grapes, quinoa, sunflower seeds and a red wine vinaigrette. It was excellent. My wife chose the fish tacos and I chose the mini-burgers. When they arrived, I was certainly glad that our server made note of the portion size as there were four tacos and three burgers with a large serving of french fries. Both dishes were very, very good, though I wish I had ordered my burgers medium rare as they were just a bit dry. To counter the dryness, I asked our server for a glass of Rosé, which was the perfect accompaniment for a nice meal al fresco. The only negative I could come up with was the noise level on the patio. Between the trains going by to the rear of the restaurant, the sounds of which were amplified by the apartment buildings across the street, and some police sirens blaring as they went by several times, it was sometimes a little difficult for conversation. A beautiful summer night, great friends, and wonderful food on the patio at Adelle's. Life is good. read more

A foodies delight, I go to this place to be inspired when food is just tasting the same everywhere and I am tired of everything. Always something new to try and an all around strong menu. Carefully selected wine, craft beer, and cider... And this is one place we always stay for dessert. Prices are reasonable, service is great, what more do I need a few miles from home?! read more

These guys are back strong despite Covid. Last night we enjoyed dinner outside under the tent with terrific live music. Service was prompt and courteous, food was excellent and served hot despite a long trip from the kitchen. Also wine was good and prices were reasonable but pushing elevated for the portion. Others were on their front deck which was full, and some were inside, although the weather was so perfect I was only inside to check in upon arrival. Many other restaurants have not figured out Covid service but Adele's has. We will be back. Also, the tent they have put up is really well done including some upholstered chairs. This I appreciate as sitting in a parking lot while dining is soooo 2020. read more

Great food, ok service!. We waited 10 minutes for the waiter to take our drink order! For appetizers I ate like a king: -Meatloaf Sliders -Chicken & Waffles I recommend both of these very highly! For dinner I had the Scallops with Andouille sausage and sweet potatoes. I could not find the Andouille so my guess it was probably crushed. We sat outside on a saturday night which was probably a mistake because of the mosquitoes and the slow service. It was packed! Next time we will probably sit inside! The hostess was very friendly and the parking is pretty easy. There is a parking garage down the street which is safe to park in, the machine is confusing since no parking spots show up. Everyone just parks here anyways. I'm willing to give it another try since the food was really good and the waiter did bring out a free dessert for my wife's birthday. Always a nice touch! read more

Debbie is a treasure who worked with them to get everything exactly the way they wanted it. The food is by far the best we ever had, the chef is five stars and personalized the menu for us, the servers were courteous, attentive and helpful. Everything was superb in every way. Wonderful food with a great ambiance. I had the Salmon which was awesome. Owners are very friendly and attentive. The Malbec was smooth and great. Definitely coming back again this week to try other items on the menu. I came back on Friday with my family and tried chicken and waffles appetizer. It was so delicious, we considered ordering it for dinner. I had the Penne chicken with spinach and sun dried tomatoes. I am usually not an Pasta lover, however I made the exception based on a recommendation, and I was not disappointed. In fact this dish is now on my list of favorites at Adelle's. read more

Bacon wrapped scallop small plate was amazing. Pear and date bruschetta delicious. Shrimp/crawfish risotto wonderful. Also tried a little of the short ribs and skate special. The short ribs were like butter and I cut off a piece with a spoon it was so tender. I highly recommend Adelle's. You really can't go wrong. read more
