Adam Pink is a genius with scissors. For years I've been struggling to find a hairdresser who could find a suitable style and cut for my fine, thinning hair...Adam Pink is the first stylist I met who actually gave me a cut I really liked. While I did pay slightly more than I'm used to paying, I didn't mind. My hair was easy to style in between haircuts, which is something new for me. (He's also a really nice man who has done a lot of pro bono work for cancer patients). The shop is small, with an intimate feel. He also works with a colorist whom I'm going to see on my next visit. I went in with my hair to my butt and yes it has been 3 years since i cut it. I said 4 inches! They cut off 14! I asked for long layers I got none. My hair looks like someone cut my pony tail off. It's straight across. They said my hair will be at my bra line. It's 3 inches above. If you can't cut long hair say that. I haven't stopped crying. I kept it together until I stepped out of the salon. I can't even put my hair up. Now i have an uneven none layered hair cut i have to let grow out for 6 months before I can get it fixed unless I want a bob. So upset. I can't get over this. I don't understand how I said over and over long layers 4 inches and don't even try to say I had more than 4 inches of dead hair because I have pictures that prove otherwise. Don't come here is you have long hair. They have no idea what they are doing. read more

I've never been happier with my hair!! I went to Adam/Alma around May for the first time. I told them I want something different because I'm bored with my hair. I talked about a strawberry blonde color; they immediately agreed it would look amazing on me. Adam suggested cutting off quite a bit (again, I wanted different) and blunt bangs; I decided to go for the chop, go strawberry blonde, but keep my curtain bangs. I've gone back 3 times for trims and touch up color. This most recent time I decided to try blunt bangs and I couldn't be happier! EDIT: It's genuinely disheartening to have to make this change to my review, as I initially had a truly wonderful experience, but my most recent interaction with the salon completely ruined all positive impressions. :( My partner is nonbinary however extremely male presenting, so gets men's cuts everywhere they go. They originally got a cut at the same time as me, where we later noticed they had been charged for a women's cut. We thought that could be changed later, until now trying to schedule a new appointment. Adam says that the men's vs women's cuts are solely based on gender, not cut or style or length, and that he will only allow my partner to be classified for women's cuts. Even though we've specifically told him that they are NOT a woman. Coming from a salon team of trans and queer folks, this is extremely disappointing. On top of that, if the styles can be any complexity or length, why should women be charged $20 more simply for being women? Misogynistic and transphobic ownership won't get you loyal customers :( before this, I was willing to fly across the country to have my hair cut here. Now I will tell everyone I know to avoid this place. I hope the $20 you were trying to squeeze out of us was worth it. -- Original review: Do yourself a favor and come here for your next haircut!!! I was looking for a salon that specialized in cuts and based off of yelp reviews I had a feeling that Adam would be the guy to give me exactly what I was looking for. he exceeded my expectations. The salon itself is adorable and inviting, I was welcomed warmly by the entire staff with a mimosa. I felt like I had been there hundreds of times. I showed Adam a few pictures of what I wanted and he took them and gave me a cut that is so sexy and trendy and perfect. He's been in the game for years and knows exactly what he's doing. I was trying to figure out how I could edit my prior review, but unfortunately cannot so. I need to add this. I would not return back to the salon because the haircut is not what I requested and having lived with it a few weeks I am unable to style it to my satisfaction. It is inches shorter than my request and quite frankly was shocked at the result. While the haircut was cut, well, this was not a style that I wanted and requested that it not be done. It will take me at least a year to grow my hair out to the length that I really wanted it to be cut too. read more

Today was a magical experience! I went to get my first hair cut in over a year. Life has been busy with work and covid and well teenagers, need I say more. So after rocking the same boring cut for more than 10 years, I decided to take a risk, a gamble a big step outside of my comfort zone. I went to meet with Adam Pink, and all I can say is wow! From the minute I walked in to the minute I left everything was perfect. The salon is exceptionally clean and the two chairs are divided by plexus glass. They take tour temperature when you come in and they do not over book so the place is not packed at all! The owners have done a great job to manage covid risks. On to the shampooing. I'm a sucker for a good shampoo and this was like no other truly an experience and I would go back just to get my hair washed. Adam really listed to my thoughts and offered the most perfect suggestions. Through out the cut, Adam explained what he was doing and how I could easily maintain the style when I went home. I get my hair cut & colored by Alma, and I can't say enough great things about her! I've been going here for a couple of years now. One time I was in the mood for something different, I just told her to do what she thought would look great. That's how much I trust her styling. (BTW, it was a dramatic change, and I got a zillion compliments) It's a nice little, two chair salon. They have snacks and some beer or wine when I arrive after a long day at work. And they're both very welcoming. Adam has never cut my hair, but he remembers who I am every time I come in. Excellent place, where they treat you like family. I had a real hair emergency. I decided to 'save' money and bought a boxed color and proceeded to destroy my hair. That was last night. It was so bad I didn't want to show my face anywhere. I called this morning and left a message and he called me as soon as they opened. He went out of his way to get me in today, I was so relieved. As I waited, I was offered a variety of beverages, I chose the white wine. Alma, the color specialist was fantastic. She was not only talented at her art, she was friendly and reassuring. She was able to get the color to a level that I actually liked. After she did her magic, Adam gave me cut and style.. He spent a lot of time with me just telling me what he wanted to dand why he chose a certain style. . He gave me two options; one was have a change in style (which is really huge for me) and the other was just trim up the split ends. I decided to go with the change. I LOVE IT. He too, is an artist. My hair is different than I would normally choose, but it is fantastic. I loved my experience at Adam Pink Salon...and I'm picky with my hair. If you are looking for your forever hair artist...this is the place! I absolutely loved the atmosphere and their relationship...it made it a joy to just be there! And that is the environment...now to the color and cut. Oh my oh my! Just love it, the utmost professionals and the passion they have for their craft gets you excited also. I have to honestly say that Adam destroyed my hair. I had a consultation with him a week prior to the appointment. Showed him pictures, stated several times that I did not want my hair short but shoulder length. The day of the appointment I showed him the same picture, repeated numerous times I wanted it shoulder length, not short. He starts cutting, and cutting, and cutting. Throughout it I would repeat that I did not want my hair short. Well I now have a very bad short haircut. It's been about 6 weeks and my hair just has no form. It just sits there no matter the products, styling I do to make it look half way descent. I'm not a youngster and have never in my life had such a horrible cut. I have asked myself the same question over and over again as to if I offended this person for him to have done this to my hair. Or maybe he thought that 60 year old women had to gave short ugly cuts. I got Adam's card from a recent client of his and decided that I would check him out. Finding the place was absolutely horrific because it's in a large office-style building with little indication that a salon resides in it. However, I found his one-room salon where he, his wife and (at times) another stylist work. The salon is energetic and welcoming and very personal due to the small size. I was only coming in for a haircut from Adam, but as I understand his wife does all the coloring for the salon. So I finally sit down with Adam and he talked to me for a long time about what I was looking for, the condition of my hair, my job, how long I took to do my hair, products I used, and everything in between. It was the most comprehensive consultation I have ever had, so needless to say I was very comfortable about letting him at my hair. The haircut was just as amazing as the consultation! As he cut he told me exactly what he was doing and what it was going to do for the shape of my hair. He used a variety of techniques and tools that were personalized for my texture and, thus, I got an incredible style. The pricing is reasonable, as far as I'm concerened, at $70 for the haircut. I purchased some products from him as well, but it did not feel like he was trying to pedal them as some other stylists do. Overall my experience was excellent and I would highly recommend him to anyone. If you want a stylist who listens to you and your needs, but also gives his own creative input, Adam is the man! read more
