I received my very first facial from Ish today! Gina was so wonderful and kind, she knew exactly what to do and how to help me. I've had bad rosacea and acne for years now and nothing seems to help. I was nervous coming in because of how bad my skin is, but she was very gentle and kind with me. She had great products that felt like heaven on my face! The only place for hair! "David" the owner, and a close friend has been cutting my hair for over 20 years! I have impossible hair, and Dave knows just how to do it. Overall this salon is great but there's one hair dresser there named "Maya" that is super unprofessional. I had got my hair done by her and I would never recommend her to anyone . I went in for a cut and color. While my haircut is fine, I am disappointed because I did not feel listened to. My haircut and color are not at all what I asked for or showed my stylist pictures of. I asked for a v cut, long layers and light brown color. I left with a ton of short layers including face-framing layers (I have naturally curly hair and this does not work) and a dark red/brown color. It will grow out and can be fixed down the line but I am disappointed in my services that I received here. I will not be coming back. read more

My hair was damaged from the last hairdresser I went to and I've been desperate to find someone, anyone that could help me fix it. I called and they got me in immediately. I'd have given 5 stars but my stylist was late. However, he was just awesome! We clicked right away. He spent a few minutes listening to my issues, evaluating my hair, asking what I wanted, explained the steps we need to take. I really wanted to like this place. I have used Yelp as a fairly credible resource in the past and this place had great reviews. New to the area, I came to Ish to get my hair cut and styled. The person I originally scheduled with had to cancel, but I went in and got a cut and style with another stylist. Shortly after, I returned to the salon because I was not satisfied with how the layers were falling in my long hair. I wanted them blended more. When I called to schedule the corrective cut, I was told that the owner could fit me in later in the week. I was very grateful. However, when I arrived, I was not in the books, but he did squeeze me in before his next appointment. We went over what needed amending and I felt heard. He was very friendly (so was the rest of the staff) and the atmosphere was pleasant. His next client came, however, and I could feel the urgency to finish with my cut/style. From here, I am honestly not sure what happened, but I left the salon with what is the worst haircut since my childhood. Though the layers were now blended in the back, a far worse problem was created. My front left side was SEVERELY uneven (see pictures). It's as if the scissors slipped and a huge chunk was cut out. When I saw my hair before I left, I was in shock and hopeful that it was just a wave/curl that was making things so uneven. I was extremely upset and could not bring myself to go in for a THIRD time. Ultimately, I had to find another salon (where I will go from now on) and pay full price for yet another haircut and style. Much to my despair, I have lost at least three and a half inches total off my length and paid for two haircuts. Again, though everyone was very nice, the final result and lack of professionalism are unacceptable. I am only writing this review with the hope that someone else can be spared from a mishap this large and costly. read more

One of their stylists screwed my hair so badly that I complained to the owner. He offered to correct it so I went back and had the owner cut it . He said he wanted to show me they could cut men's hair correctly. He must have been trying to do a payback for my complaining because he could not have screwed up my hair this bad unless it was intentional. Two out of two cuts deserve a -5 stars. I was intimidated when I walked in but it didn't take long for the front desk person to ask me if I needed anything. Very nice people here! But before I go on I would be remiss not to mention Frank! First of all not all reviews on here are accurate. ANDREW IS AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. I came into the salon for the first time today, really wasnt feeling so good about myself and left feeling like a million bucks! Andrew picked the color and was very attentive. I let him know my hair was like ruined but I still wanted the length and he still managed to do just that. The salon was comfortable and welcoming everyone there was friendly and funny. June was absolutely Fantastic and really put a nice vibe on my whole experience. I had so much fun and that's wierd for a salon but so true. Andrew was super knowledgeable about the whole process and you could tell he has tons of experience. Turns out 10 years of it and it truly shows. He was funny and sweet. AMAZING!!!!!! I needed to have my hair fixed due to a previous attempt at some highlights. I am super picky about who does my hair and thought it couldn't get any worse. I called and spoke to Kandice and she suggested I come in for a consultation and then we can work from there. I came in and she said it wasn't as bad as she initially thought (I described something horrific on the phone) She said she could actually get me in right then. I think she could tell I was extremely nervous. She kept assuring me that she would not let me leave without being completely satisfied. She did more than deliver. She fixed my hair better then I could have expected. I absolutely love her and will definitely be a client of hers forever. The Salon was very upbeat and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Almost all of the stylists spoke to me in some way or another. When the owner left he personally thanked me for coming in and wished me a good night. After a number of BAD experiences with salons/hairdressers, it was incredibly refreshing to have found a salon that I can trust. Not only was I made to feel welcomed here, I was treated like a person not a dollar. Ryan cut my hair...he understood exactly what I wanted and though it was pretty abstract he followed my vision and did a phenomenal job. I believe if you're out looking for the "affordable" stylist rather than the stylist who knows what they're doing, much luck. I don't hate my hair after going to Ish Salon but I definitely don't love it. And hey, that shit grows back (what I've heard more than "your hair looks so good!" after my appointment.) I saw X Monday for a cut and color. She informed me that I was only booked for a cut, no color, but would check to see if there was someone else who could do the appointment instead of her. Okay, fair enough I guess. After staring at the appointment book for a while she must've determined there was no other stylist to pawn me off on. We concluded she would be able to do the cut as well as the color since I just wanted one color in my hair. I showed her a sample photo of the cut and color I was looking for and the length I wanted to keep my hair, which was just about below the bottom of my shoulder blade. Of course I allot about an inch and a half as cuts always seem to turn out shorter than you request. I'll admit my hair was a mess, it'd been nearly a year and a half and my hair was down to my lower back. I wouldn't be excited about cutting and coloring my hair either. She pulls over half my hair to one side, chops it off to mid shoulder blade and asks if the length is good. Well I suppose it had better be at this point right? Long long story longish, it didn't get much better from that point and I'll be wearing my hair in a ponytail for a while. I felt like an inconvenience during the appointment. I believe phones should be on silent while at work if not put away, and if you're so busy or distracted that you can't focus on your client you may as well just go home. I'm all for a relaxed work place but there's relaxed and then there's unprofessional. I wouldn't not recommend Ish, and X was friendly enough when she wasn't checking her phone. There were loads of people in there who appeared to be regulars getting great work done. I'm giving X the benefit of the doubt and assuming I caught her on a bad day, but I won't be back to test that. read more
