I received my very first facial from Ish today! Gina was so wonderful and kind, she knew exactly what to do and how to help me. I've had bad rosacea and acne for years now and nothing seems to help. I was nervous coming in because of how bad my skin is, but she was very gentle and kind with me. She had great products that felt like heaven on my face! Her massaging felt wonderful and her room was very calming. 10/10 highly recommend! Gina rocks you guys, go treat yourself to a facial from her! read more

I paid $50 for this hair cut by Christina that was not what I asked for. I made sure to explain exactly what I wanted because it was for graduation, but ended up getting my hair razored off. No because they sold bad hair products that they both knew the owner and person who did our hair to dry our hair out. Horrible experience and she spilled hair oil on my pants. I asked for a label because I live far away and they ignored me and ripped me off 99.90. They are the worst company ever. read more

I love this place!!! I was referred here by a friend, and had the pleasure of meeting Shannon. She has done a fabulous job both cutting and styling my hair. She has also helped me with a style that helps my curls flourish. Today I did have her straighten for me, and I love the different look. One other important thing I would like to add is that she listens to what I ask and does not ever cut off too much (even if I need it) I am a forever customer, thank you Shannon. read more

The only place for hair! "David" the owner, and a close friend has been cutting my hair for over 20 years! I have impossible hair, and Dave knows just how to do it. On a few occasions, in an emergency.....I have had to go elsewhere. BIG mistake! My wife also gets her hair color done here by Josephine, a veteran colorist with 25 yrs experience, and it shows! Absolutely worth the drive to Ahwatukee! Oh .....did I forget to mention great prices, clean, professional environment, and the vibe in this place always makes you feel like family! Great products selection too! You feel good when you know you look good. Life's far too short to settle for looking "ok", capiche'? read more

Overall this salon is great but there's one hair dresser there named "Maya" that is super unprofessional. I had got my hair done by her and I would never recommend her to anyone . We had an issue with my service and instead of being a professional and resolve it . I couldn't even get ahold of Her . I had to seek another hair dresser there to fix it . It was a bad experience and I just wouldn't recommend Maya . Everyone else at that salon does amazing. read more

I went in for a cut and color. While my haircut is fine, I am disappointed because I did not feel listened to. My haircut and color are not at all what I asked for or showed my stylist pictures of. I asked for a v cut, long layers and light brown color. I left with a ton of short layers including face-framing layers (I have naturally curly hair and this does not work) and a dark red/brown color. It will grow out and can be fixed down the line but I am disappointed in my services that I received here. I will not be coming back. read more

I went to Ish yesterday on a whim. I read reviews on here and every one was pretty positive. My hair was damaged from the last hairdresser I went to and I've been desperate to find someone, anyone that could help me fix it. I called and they got me in immediately. I'd have given 5 stars but my stylist was late. However, he was just awesome! We clicked right away. He spent a few minutes listening to my issues, evaluating my hair, asking what I wanted, explained the steps we need to take. When I left I was smiling, I enjoyed the time I was there and loved my cut and color. See you in 4 weeks Ryan! read more

Ish Ish Salon is exactly right. If your hair stylist is constantly looking at him self in the mirror instead of you run like crazy!!!Andrew was the worst hair stylist Ever!!!!! My hair felt like mozzarella cheese after he finished!!! He burned my scalp & he calls himself a fine hair specialist... the color has no panache, let's talk about the hair cut! He didn't even know how to pull the hair up to cut layers, all the time just staring in the mirror looking at himself!!!! If you want a nice scalp massage or shampoo I recommend you pass he barely put any shampoo in my hair, you could shampoo your own head better than he does...know idea how he received his cosmetology license. LOOK NO FURTHER!!!! I moved here from Chicago with high expectations and had several bad experiences with local salons in the area. My search was over when I found this gem, tucked away in Ahwatukee. This salon is one of the best ones I've been to, ever! My stylist, Volila Belle is as cool as they come. Fun, and current; if you are looking for someone who stays on top of the most current trends and hair techniques, look no further!!! Volila nailed it with a beautiful balayage, straight out of a Pinterest page. Their prices are very reasonable and the setting is intimate enough you feel like you're getting your hair done by your best friend and the attention you deserve, no rush. Appointments required. (I even came back and had her do my hair for my wedding day!) Do something cool for yourself and check it out! read more

I really wanted to like this place. I have used Yelp as a fairly credible resource in the past and this place had great reviews. New to the area, I came to Ish to get my hair cut and styled. The person I originally scheduled with had to cancel, but I went in and got a cut and style with another stylist. Shortly after, I returned to the salon because I was not satisfied with how the layers were falling in my long hair. I wanted them blended more. When I called to schedule the corrective cut, I was told that the owner could fit me in later in the week. I was very grateful. However, when I arrived, I was not in the books, but he did squeeze me in before his next appointment. We went over what needed amending and I felt heard. He was very friendly (so was the rest of the staff) and the atmosphere was pleasant. His next client came, however, and I could feel the urgency to finish with my cut/style. From here, I am honestly not sure what happened, but I left the salon with what is the worst haircut since my childhood. Though the layers were now blended in the back, a far worse problem was created. My front left side was SEVERELY uneven (see pictures). It's as if the scissors slipped and a huge chunk was cut out. When I saw my hair before I left, I was in shock and hopeful that it was just a wave/curl that was making things so uneven. I was extremely upset and could not bring myself to go in for a THIRD time. Ultimately, I had to find another salon (where I will go from now on) and pay full price for yet another haircut and style. Much to my despair, I have lost at least three and a half inches total off my length and paid for two haircuts. Again, though everyone was very nice, the final result and lack of professionalism are unacceptable. I am only writing this review with the hope that someone else can be spared from a mishap this large and costly. read more

One of their stylists screwed my hair so badly that I complained to the owner. He offered to correct it so I went back and had the owner cut it . He said he wanted to show me they could cut men's hair correctly. He must have been trying to do a payback for my complaining because he could not have screwed up my hair this bad unless it was intentional. Two out of two cuts deserve a -5 stars. Ish Salon in Ahwatukee is top notch! It's not very often you find an upscale salon that is still down to earth. I was intimidated when I walked in but it didn't take long for the front desk person to ask me if I needed anything. Very nice people here! But before I go on I would be remiss not to mention Frank! What a great guy! I received an awesome haircut at an affordable price. Not only is he talented but he is available. He will work extra hours to make sure his clients are taken care of. Call him! First of all not all reviews on here are accurate. ANDREW IS AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. I came into the salon for the first time today, really wasnt feeling so good about myself and left feeling like a million bucks! Andrew picked the color and was very attentive. I let him know my hair was like ruined but I still wanted the length and he still managed to do just that. The salon was comfortable and welcoming everyone there was friendly and funny. June was absolutely Fantastic and really put a nice vibe on my whole experience. I had so much fun and that's wierd for a salon but so true. Andrew was super knowledgeable about the whole process and you could tell he has tons of experience. Turns out 10 years of it and it truly shows. He was funny and sweet. They really made me feel special. If your looking for a place to lift your spirits and make you look fantastic than this would be the place. Highly recommend. After a number of BAD experiences with salons/hairdressers, it was incredibly refreshing to have found a salon that I can trust. Not only was I made to feel welcomed here, I was treated like a person not a dollar. Ryan cut my hair...he understood exactly what I wanted and though it was pretty abstract he followed my vision and did a phenomenal job. I believe if you're out looking for the "affordable" stylist rather than the stylist who knows what they're doing, much luck. If it's a salon and stylist with great energy and skill...this is where you need to visit! Kudos Ryan and family! read more

I don't hate my hair after going to Ish Salon but I definitely don't love it. And hey, that shit grows back (what I've heard more than "your hair looks so good!" after my appointment.) I saw X Monday for a cut and color. She informed me that I was only booked for a cut, no color, but would check to see if there was someone else who could do the appointment instead of her. Okay, fair enough I guess. After staring at the appointment book for a while she must've determined there was no other stylist to pawn me off on. We concluded she would be able to do the cut as well as the color since I just wanted one color in my hair. I showed her a sample photo of the cut and color I was looking for and the length I wanted to keep my hair, which was just about below the bottom of my shoulder blade. Of course I allot about an inch and a half as cuts always seem to turn out shorter than you request. I'll admit my hair was a mess, it'd been nearly a year and a half and my hair was down to my lower back. I wouldn't be excited about cutting and coloring my hair either. She pulls over half my hair to one side, chops it off to mid shoulder blade and asks if the length is good. Well I suppose it had better be at this point right? Long long story longish, it didn't get much better from that point and I'll be wearing my hair in a ponytail for a while. I felt like an inconvenience during the appointment. I believe phones should be on silent while at work if not put away, and if you're so busy or distracted that you can't focus on your client you may as well just go home. I'm all for a relaxed work place but there's relaxed and then there's unprofessional. I wouldn't not recommend Ish, and X was friendly enough when she wasn't checking her phone. There were loads of people in there who appeared to be regulars getting great work done. I'm giving X the benefit of the doubt and assuming I caught her on a bad day, but I won't be back to test that. read more
