I had a great experience getting my hair cut here so I decided to go back for color. I asked for a root touch up and balayage. I showed a picture of how I wanted my hair which was just a grown out balayage. After the toner and wash, I said my hair looked orange. She put me back in the bowl and it wasn't much better the second time. Every time I said this is not what I asked for, my statements were ignored and masked with "it looks soo good!" After 4.5 half hours being in that chair I cried because my hair looked terrible. No one offered to fix it or make the situation better- just collected payment. I could not get out of there fast enough. The technique was definitely not balayage... It was a messy job at highlights. I now have an appointment somewhere for a correction. read more

Will probably come back but noticed that conditioner wasn't used in the wash which was really strange. I've never had a salon not use conditioner in my hair with a wash. Then was quoted $30 over the phone for a haircut and trim (which I was thrilled about) then the owner charged me $40 because she styled my hair without asking me if I wanted her to. I wouldn't brush this salon off completely, I'd just be specific on who cuts your hair. The woman who cut my hair was older (older than me, at least). I asked for a long bob, showed her several pictures, and made a gesture that I wanted it cut to my armpit. Maybe she didn't see it. I should've said so, that's my fault. She asked if I wanted it cut at an angle, and I confirmed that I did. She also split my hair in the middle, and I told her I part it on the left side. She nodded but kept cutting with it parted in the middle. In the end, I got a pretty blunt cut that was to my shoulders. As I was standing up to pay, she had to cut a bit off while I stood because it was off. I knew I didn't like it right away but paid, tipped, and went on my disgruntled way. read more

I have a love hate relationship with this hair salon. I either have had a great experience or terrible one and it always has nothing to do with my actual haircut. My hair has always been cut great here and that is probably why I return but the only reason. The first time I stopped in the manager/owner was berating one of the stylists in front of everyone. The 2nd time however was great. This last time, it was a ghost town and the two stylists working were both sitting on their phones and didnt look up immediately when I walked in. I am horrified at how badly Corrine did my hair. I got my hair cut yesterday and I left with soaking wet hair so I couldn't see what it really looked like. Now that it's dry, I truly am staggered by how horrible these "layers" look. It's completely uneven lengths, and looks like it was done with a pair of children's scissors. I've been going here for a little over a year now, and I always see Corinne. She's friendly, knowledgeable, and does a great job with my cut and style every time. My mother saw her a couple of months ago for a major cut and color overhaul, and it turned out beautifully! I can not recommend her highly enough. Saw CeCe. Nice and attentive to detail. It took an hour for a basic haircut and shampoo w blow dry. This seems long but it's better then feeling rushed or feeling like no time was spent. Good haircut. First time visiting as my regular stylist was on a leave of absence at my normal Salon. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for another option. This was the worst experience I've had in my 40 years of going to salons. I was referred to this salon by my mother. She sees Corrine, who always does a fantastic job on her hair. I was excited! Corrine was not available for me to book so I just picked a stylist online. I picked Josie. I got a bad vibe as soon as I walked in the door. No smile, no introduction. I asked if Josie was in, and she said "I'm Josie." as if I were an idiot. Bad vibe starter. I showed her a picture of what color I wanted along with the highlights. I asked her to please get as close to that as possible along with the easy cut. She said "Well that's a picture." 2nd bad vibe. I said, "right, please just get as close as you can." She then proceeded to tell me what the total would be. $185. I about fell out of the chair. Shampoo, cut, all over color, and partial highlights. Oh and there was an added $25 charge for 'toner' and another $15 charge for the 'chromematic.' 3rd bad vibe Having been in salons all over the country for the last 40 years, I was stunned. If we were in downtown New York or even Scottsdale, I wouldn't have even blinked an eye. But Gilbert? Come to find out Josie is the owner. Ahhhhhh. I was not impressed with the entitled, spoiled brat, snotty CeCe, who was working with her. She was THE rudest stylist I'd ever seen. The only time she smiled was when she interacted with her co-workers, not her customers. She was so mean to an elderly lady, 4th bad vibe, that came in as well as a man who walked in for a cut. 5th bad vibe. She was very short & snotty to people as if she had better things to do. Hey CeCe, when you're in the service industry it'll help you and especially your tips to at least act like you're appreciative of your customers. EVERY ONE of them. I felt so bad for that elderly lady. By the way, you blatantly opening the door after I got some food, because my appointment was going on 5 hours and I was starving, was pretty rude.Then you have your mom go & get Taco Bell. 6th bad vibe. I love my cut and my hair is super smooth and soft. The cut..ok. I told her I curl & swipe my hair back so it's out of my face. She proceeds to curl my hair INTO my face, forward. The color, just ok. People come there to feel better about them selves. You never know what battle they are facing and maybe a heartfelt service with a smile can make all the difference to them. I felt as if I was asking for a Unicorn horn to be attached to my head, have my hair shaved every 3 inches and every strand to be a different color. All I wanted was my hair to look close to the picture I showed. That is all. And I sure as heck didn't expect to be there for 5 hours. Unbelievable. I've gotten better service, made to feel like a queen, a better color & highlight and a kick ass cut for under $100, WITH tip. Nothing extra was done that warranted the bill to be $185. I have never been so frustrated in all my life when I've gone in to feel good and revived. EVER. 7th bad vibe I paid what she asked and I will not be back. I stopped coming here unfortunately due to the treatment of their stylists I have very thick hair and the owner Josie told my stylist I only took her 4 hours when I took over 6 for her, you'll notice that there will always only be one person answering the phone and is like a manager you'll also notice that they'll leave soon they take advantage of them and push them away I've seen many great stylist these four years like Britney and Alyssa I was driving 30 minutes to come here but I can't if the owner can't respect the great stylist they have, just like the two stylist I have had I've gone through bad ones here where they have chopped my hair unevenly even have done olaplaex and have not don't the process throughly like only leaving it ten and rushing it by putting the heat dryer on it even though I'm getting treatment for heat damaged hair? We just took our girls for a quick trim for school (Twins) My daughter had hair down to her waist, we asked for 3" off only! the first girl cut her hair so crooked we had to have the owner redo it..This little girl was burned 50% of her head and there was a chance she would not grow hair again so her hair means the world to her! The owner cut at least a foot off!! My daughters hair is so short she cried her eyes out when we left! we received no apology and the owner was VERY VERY RUDE!! I have been going to Josie, the owner of Your Style Salon at Gilbert Road and Baseline, for a little over 6 months. This group is extremrly disorganized. The pricing structure is wrong on the board inside the salon, they charge in excess of that amount, the internet pricing is different from that and, the pricing is different yet again on another site Plus, they charge you whatever they feel like at the time. I went to have my monthly hair color appointment. Josie told me my hair was getting too light and did I want to add toner. I said sure. She didn't tell me it was going to cost me $25 for the toner. After I got home I started trying to figure out how my bill ended being $160. I left a message for Josie to call me back but, instead, she had Corrinne call me back to tell me toner was a separate process from hair color. I've had my hair done since my late 30 and I have NEVER been charged separately for toner. I left a second message for Josie and, again, Josie didn't call me back. I tied one more time last night and Josie has yet to call me today. I have spent $876.57 with Josie since 2/12/2021. I wold think that would qualify me for a call back from Josie.
