I arrived on time for my 2pm appointment and was greeted by Thanh and seated immediately. I showed him the pictures again. Then he asked me if I wanted to shampoo my hair, which I agreed to. Then we got straight to work. At the end of my cut, he made sure I liked the result, to which I asked for my bangs a bit shorted and he readily obliged. I paid $45 (excluding an additional tip) in cash, but I didn't inquire further if they also accept card or if there's an additional fee for paying by card. I looked around the salon for a menu of costs of services, which he said there wasn't one. No problem, I plan on coming back for haircuts only anyway which I know are $45! Otherwise, I'll text him personally asking for other services if I want them! All in all, I was in and out the door at 2:00 and 2:30 respectively, literally (I looked at the clock). I would rather go a salon that actually cares about their customer service and attention to detail at a higher cost - you're getting what you pay for, if not less. Firstly, my stylist was on her phone for a full 4 minutes in the middle of my 18-minute (fast? or rushed?) haircut without explanation; I would be more understanding if I were given a heads up about a personal emergency or something, but to simply step away from your client and text nonstop at the front desk without saying anything, is unacceptable. Secondly, I've never been to a salon where my hair was not washed prior to it being cut; until I came here. My hair was not even styled at the end (see photo of when I got home right after my appointment). Thirdly, it's the bare minimum to ask your customer if they like their haircut, or smile at the end. When I was paying at the front desk kiosk, my stylist went straight back to texting with the click clack of her fake nails on the phone screen. I stood at the desk for a good minute or so after payment was completed before she looked up, and quickly said "bye thank you". There were no other customers in the store except for the nail artist and her client in the shared salon space. I would NOT recommend this salon to any of my friends and advise you to get your haircut elsewhere if you care about professional service and a good haircut.

Unfortunately, the haircut I received was not at all what I requested, despite showing reference photos. The cut was extremely choppy, with uneven layers throughout. It was the first haircut I've ever been truly unhappy with, and I am unable to even wear my hair down due to the unevenness and disconnect throughout the cut. I do want to recognize the salon owner for how they handled the situation. They were understanding, offered to have another stylist correct my haircut, and also refunded the cost of the service. I truly appreciate their professionalism and commitment to making things right. While I'm disappointed with the haircut I received from Ericka, I appreciate the owner's excellent customer service and willingness to stand behind their business. Although my first experience wasn't the one I had hoped for, I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future clients.

It is a relief to find a place where the people who works there treat you like a person and do not see the sign of $$ on you, as in these chains of cutting hair that exists in every corner and where they change of stylists every week. This place is the best I have been on, since I moved to Gilbert, and the price, PLEASE, it is nothing compared with those "salons" that charge you up to $70 for the same haircut ( if you are lucky ), but with a lousy service. Coming from NY and having the same hair stylist for so long, I was super nervous about getting my hair done with someone new once I moved here to AZ. Remove the row 2. Wash the clients hair and the extensions 2. Separate the wefts 3. Reinstall one at a time in a continuous process of course 4. Dry the Client's hair 5. Style. What I received? The row removed and reinstalled poorly. When I asked if she was going to wash my hair or separate the wefts she said it wasn't necessary . I don't know if this is Standard protocol there or if she was just being lazy. I've never received this poor of service for a move up. When I finally went to a different salon to have it moved up, her service was not only top-notch but she pointed out that my move up was not even done properly. Which I kind of had a feeling because the way that the row started to slip in certain areas and the corners started to lift. Not sure if this was an individual stylist issue or that is their protocol. But I'm so glad I found someone who did it right elsewhere! Lastly, I had a friend who went in for a money piece coloring on a short Bob and paid $75! That seems astronomical but maybe they just have a minimum. ‍
