I loathe Naperville more than anything, and the downtown area in particular. That said, Adagio is the only reason I drive the 20 or so minutes to Naperville every so often. The tea offerings are a bit more simplistic than a Teavana, which I find appealing. Instead of 15 million crazy blends, there are black, green, oolong, etc. teas, all flavored with one or two notes. The newer line of blends are great too though, don't get me wrong. I'm a devotee of the rhubarb green, the black cream, and the white blueberry in particular. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I rarely let anyone "sell" me anything, but I wound up with a blend I hadn't planned on purchasing because it was offered in a polite, non-pushy way. They will help you to sample anything you're on the fence about. Prices are more than reasonable, so I can buy more than one kind of tea, unlike some places that will run you $12 for 2oz. My only thumbs down is that it's a bit too quiet in here sometimes, but I understand the reasoning behind creating a serene atmosphere. read more

I love this place. We got some peach flavored matcha. The sales person let us try so many teas, it was awesome! After we spent like $30, we got a bunch of free samples. We enjoy that place. It is our go to place when we come to Naperville. read more

Really amazing customer service! They're so knowledgeable with their products and help you make the right choices of which tea kettle would be the best for you! Super cute shop! read more

First discovered this place because of a mailer with a sampler of their candy-cane holiday tea. It was marvelous & what a great promo because it gained both of our business !! Our first adventure to the store was using a Groupon deal: $21 Tea Tasting for Two. The tasting was very informative - we seriously had no idea about the different drying & roasting processes - and our guide (sorry I forgot her name) did a wonderful job. Not only did we enjoy some snacks with our tasting, but we each got to select a teapot as a take-home gift as part of the Groupon deal. Yeah !!! And of course, we both bought a couple of bags of tea for home. Overall, the store is very clean, with a nice layout & well organized. They offer a very nice selection of loose teas, categorized, and with descriptions for the uninformed such as myself. They also offer a tea "bar" so you can order one of their various fresh hot or cold teas to-go. Pricing seems reasonable and you can order all of their products online. They also offer seasonal/holiday teas that are wonderful. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because arranging an appointment for the tasting was less than easy. However, it was a new process for them (this was January 2013) and I'm sure it has since improved. Definitely recommend Adagio teas! read more

Awesome Store! Amazing customer service! The staff is super friendly, informative and so incredibly helpful! You can smell and sample your way through the teas as you shop. They have one of the largest tea varieties I have encountered: green, black, herbal, puerh, ooolong and white with prices that are sure to suit someone just getting into tea or the high end palate. Definitely check them out! read more

My new favorite place for teas. A knowledgeable staff and pleasant atmosphere. An excellent selection of various types of tea from numerous regions. You never know what will interest you next..... read more

This was my first visit to Adagio at my sisters recommendation. Great little shop with a good variety of teas available. I liked that they have options for loose or bagged teas for each flavor and that they had a sample of each available in a clear plastic tub so you could see what each looked like and how it smelled. They also offered up samples of any flavor you wanted to try. They had a nice variety of tea pots and mugs and small containers to store tea in. My only suggestion for improvement was that they have restroom available for customer use. I desperately needed to use the washroom upon entering their store and was told they don't have restrooms for public use which was quite frustrating. All things considered, very pleased and will go back next time I'm in Naperville. read more

Super clean store front. Friendly and helpful staff that will let you try as many samples as you want to find the right tea.

Great experience! I am a tea lover, and when it comes to tea, I notice every little detail about my tea experience. The first thing I'd like to note is tea itself, this store offers a great selection of tea, everything is neatly organized to easily find whichever tea you prefer or even try something new. I bought two different kinds and loved them both. Another thing is tea accessories, also the store has plenty of them. I bought a very cute tea infuser. Finally, the most important thing, at least for me, is customer service. Very friendly and knowledgeable young lady answered all of my questions and recommended great tea. I already had a great time just talking with her. It was my first experience with Adagio teas, and I loved the store and staff. This is the place you want to come back! read more

I visited this store for the first time on Dec 24. I was very pleased with the selection--teas and herbals, decaf and caffeinated, loose leaf and in teabags. The staff was very helpful, and I'm looking forward to trying my selections. read more

Great selection of teas and products! And a very cute shop to add. They also offer free samples to try and tea tastings. Love it!

My friend had a Groupon for 2 for a tea tasting and instruction. I went with her and we had an hour with Peggy who taught us all about tea; where it comes from, the different kinds, health and well being benefits, etc. Peggy was delightful, answered all our questions, and we got to taste different kinds of teas that she picked out. We also got to choose any teas that we would like to try in the store. Loved this place and will go back and bring friends. I also bought a Groupon to take my friends with. You get a free tea pot with the Groupon coupon, so it's a great deal. read more

Immediately upon walking in, the smell of all the herbal teas was so great! The atmosphere is so welcoming and any questions I had were answered by the friendly sales associate. The products and info about the teas was great, loved learning about where they came from and what the health benefits were. Had to stop myself from spending all my money. Loved Adagio and it's a great stop when you're walking around the city with friends. Smell the teas, taste the herbal infusions of the day, and learn about the health benefits of all the teas! read more

Amazing service! No pressure! Delicious teas! Adorable tea pots and travel mugs! If you love tea, this is the place to be!! read more

The staff in here are so friendly and knowledgeable. I first stopped in on a whim looking for a gift for a hard-to-buy-for family member, and everyone I talked to really knew their stuff. They helped me find something easily even though I wasn't sure where to start. As for the tea itself, it's delicious! I've been back a handful of times since then, mostly shopping for myself, and everything I've had there is just yummy. They carry a massive variety of what seems like every kind of tea, and most of them are available either pre-bagged or loose. There's a cute gift section toward the front, too, with some teapots and cups, and you can get a cup of tea to go if you want one while you're walking around downtown. If you like tea at all, definitely check it out. read more

Super friendly staff and great selection of teas! Reasonably priced as well. The themed tea selections (Harry Potter, Sherlock) were neat too. read more

Stopped at Adagio Teas today while I was walking thru downtown Naperville. I was pleasantly surprised on how many different types of teas they had. Everyone there was kind and willing to answer my questions. I sampled a couple of different teas, I will be back. read more

It seems like your typical "tea place" like Teavana or that other one...but it's better! The staff there is SUPER friendly and knowledgeable. They're willing to even let you try the teas before purchase. Which is great because some of the teas smell amazing but don't taste like you'd expect. The prices are very reasonable, and everything is all natural (no artificial flavors, and they have locally sourced honey for sale as well!) I'll be coming back for more for sure! read more

We love tea, but until recently only drank the supermarket brands. Visited Adagio teas and after purchasing some loose leaf chinese tea suddenly realize what good tea tastes like. We were helped by a lady named Violet, a passionate tea drinker, and she took the time to explain the differences between the regions and flavors of the teas, and then helped us choose and taste some she thought we would like. She was super friendly and helpful, and my wife and I love the tea we bought. I can imagine the price would scare many people off buying the tea, but we found that a bag can last a long time, and you can actually reuse the tea leaves multiple times, so really this its decent value for a great cup of tea. Looking forward to visiting again! read more

Good selection of unique teas, this shop is handy for someone looking for a unique gift, or for someone who liked to wake up or wind down with a unique cup of tea. I know next to nothing about tea, but the helpful staff breaks everything down for you. I know I should be drinking more tea, as I've noticed it helps me to relax, so I expect to be making this a regular stop when I am shopping downtown. read more

Went for a half hour tea class and tasting through Groupon. Our host was Etienne. Very knowledgeable and you could tell she was an avid tea lover. Highly recommend Adagio Teas. Ended up buying a few bags of tea. Great if you want to learn the basics of tea and how to make wise and healthy choices when buying. Our Groupon even included a free porcelain tea pot! Check this place out! Tea over coffee any day! read more

This is such a lovely shop. My first shopping experience was through a tea tasting event purchased through Groupon. This event was a fun, informative, tasty experience. We purchased several unique, delicious teas at that time and have been back to buy more. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, always happy to brew any tea that piques our interest. This shop always runs specials on buying multiple packages which makes it very reasonable to stock up on the teas we love while adding new flavors often. read more

New favorite tea shop! A friend suggested I stop in, and I'm so glad I did. Beautiful displays of white, herbal, green, rooibos, and black teas all neatly arranged by type, and super helpful staff that offered to make me a tasting cup of any tea I'd like to try. I picked up some White Peach and Mocha Nut Mate and look forward to returning for some new flavors when I've finished these. Well done! Will recommend :) read more

I was introduced to this lovely tea shop today after spending the afternoon shopping in downtown Naperville with my friend. Lisa was very friendly and more importantly knowledgable about the teas. I told her exactly the flavors I like and was shown many varieties. I asked about matcha because it's been dubbed the miracle tea of our time. She made us both a cup of matcha and explained all the benefits and process of how it is cultivated. It was like two friends sharing an intelligent conversation about tea. No pressure or gimmicks, just tea time. read more

First time here. Found exactly what I was looking for . My daughter said it was the wet peach tea she has had. A lot of neat tea steeping devices as well. Got some free samples. Will definitely be back. read more

My husband and I were out shopping for the day and discovered this by accident. Having just starting drinking tea this past winter, I have been frequenting Teavana for loose leaf teas. I was delighted at the variety, packaging and customer service. The staff were very helpful in describing the varieties. The opportunity of tasting the tea prior to purchase was very helpful. I especially liked the sampler package I purchased for a friend who also started drinking tea this past year. This is a winner for me. I plan on being a frequent buyer! read more

This was my first visit and I will definitely return. I love a place that educates the consumer and they do that here. I have been converted to include tea into my day! read more

This is a jewel of a store and the staff are the diamonds!! I went to pick up an order on Saturday and planned to hurry out but the staff was so friendly and Brett offered a free sample. I accepted and he mixed vanilla and pomegranate green teas together. It was fabulous! I also purchased an infuser and later, when I returned home, my girlfriend and I had a wonderful afternoon sipping tea. We plan to return to the store soon and I look forward to another positive experience. read more

Oh-em-gee, amazing! I feel so lucky that the first B&M store happened to open so close to me! My husband and I had a blast smelling and taste-testing teas to our hearts' content. The workers were all fabulous and helpful. If you are an avid tea drinker then this is a must-stop shop. Heck, even if you only think tea is okay you should probably stop in. If you don't like tea at all you should still come in since you have nothing to lose by tasting a tea or two! read more

Unlocked a yelp offer for a free cup of tea, and went to check out the place. The location is great, the store is neat and they offer a wide variety of teas at reasonable prices. I wasn't too happy about the service- I was assisted by a guy and an older woman, and while the woman seemed to be very standoffish, the guy was very friendly. However, (I was the only one in the store) and was immediately assisted, and both were very informative and knowledgeable about the tea selection. I'll chalk it up to an off-day and hopefully she's in a better mood next time I return! read more

Laura was so kind in explaining everything to me! Come here! I am going to get healthy just because of her!

The friendly staff and assortment of teas makes this one of our favorite places to shop. Everyone who works there is super helpful and the samples are delicious. It's not super pricey either. read more

I was too intimidated to visit this store until I bought a Groupon for a tea tasting. I had thought it was just another snooty, overpriced tea store. Not at all. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. In fact, I can't wait to schedule another tea tasting with my Mom! They even sell tea bags. The prices are reasonable and the selection is amazing! This is my new go to tea shop. I love that it's even a local chain in IL only, but I expect they will have success if they try to expand. read more

Not impressed. As a hopless tea connoisseur, I was expecting more from a specialty tea boutique. While they had an extensive selection, most of the teas were too earthy for my taste. In fact, I prefer Republic of Tea line of teas to these teas hands down. But I must mention, the service was indeed excellent. read more
