One star due to the unprofessional and rude behavior by Dr. Grant, not a reflection of the front office staff or med assistants. I was treated by my Primary Doctor for a stye on my inner upper left eyelid that I had for a week and a half on March 12th. He prescribed Neo-Bacit-Poly Eye Ointment and told me to continue with hot compresses... which I had been doing since the first symptoms I was getting a stye. My eye condition was not improving or responding to the medication, so I received authorization to see a specialist and was referred to Acuity Eye Group. I was first scheduled with Dr. Lee, who is just a run of the mill optometrist. I was put through unnecessary tests and she kept insisting that I have my eyes dilated, I declined. Since when does having an infected stye require dilation? So, after all the examination... she tells me "just continue with the hot compresses and the antibiotic your Dr. gave you" and schedules a follow up appt. with Dr. Grant in case the issue with my eye does not resolve itself. I had the follow up appt. with Dr. Grant today. Again, the same duplicate unnecessary tests I received the last visit. Dr. Grant was so rude and had the attitude like how dare I impose on his time with a minute eye infection and had the nerve to tell me to just continue with what I had been doing. He couldn't even take the time to prescribe a more potent antibiotic. I flat out told him he wasted my time and he was a joke. The receptionist was kind enough to waive my co-pay after I told her how unsatisfied I was and would never return to this facility. So, my main concern with this office is its' front-line staff. Apparently, there was a problem with my insurance coverage and they called me...but, did not leave a message. Then, I cannot discern which window is the check-in window as there is NO SIGNAGE to indicate this when I arrive for my "said appointment". Instead, the receptionist doesn't even look up and (at least!) greet me. She just mutters underneath her breath for me to go to the other window. Finally, the other receptionist tries to help me with my insurance coverage, but also leaves me to my own devices to clear up what they should have left a voicemail message for when they were supposedly calling me prior to the appointment. I tried to check my insurance but, in the end, realized that I was working harder than they were. So, I concluded that they do not need my insurance reimbursement and left. And, while I was there, I also witnessed the receptionist speaking tersely to an older gentleman about a mix-up with his appointment. You know, it is a holiday weekend and we ALL HAVE TO WORK. Please re-consider going here because their policy for treating people with respect and patience is a total "F-grade". We are consumers and we do not need to settle for minimal service. I am looking forward to going elsewhere where, at the minimum. I get treated with respect and patience. read more

Dr. Grant & His team at Acuity Eye Group were Fantastic today when I visited Welcoming, Personable, Expedient, and Knowledgeable I was referred to this Long Beach office to see Dr. Grant by Dr. Culotta in Huntington Beach. Both highly skilled in their specific eye specialities. I feel so Grateful for their expertise‼ I will get an MRI and return for the treatment once he determines if I will need surgery or prescription eyewear. I'm very appreciated my doctor had referred me to this eye group although my medi cal gave me such a hassle to actually recieve my eye exam i still was able to have a very enjoyable experience. It was a cash pay out for the eye exam which I wasn't happy about but it was my medical fault for doing that so I decided to pay with cash and they gave a good price it was only 49$ for a eye exam, and they really got my vision to where I needed to be the optometrist was very nice and helpful and helped my vison prescription get updated to where I should be, and I have t had a eye exam in almost 5 years. So that was very nice and I brought in my own eye frames very nice quality glasses frames and as I sat down and talked about prices I was really excited to get my new frames I went with crizal lens which came out marvelous and my other frames were with a blue tint and those were high quality lenses I love both my pair of glasses and I'm glad I came here even if I had to pay a pretty penny. It was my first time going to this office for an eye exam. The location was very easy to find. Once I entered the office, the receptionist was very polite and had me sign in. I did not have to wait long to see my doctor because the practice had sent me paperwork earlier in the week to fill out prior to my appointment. I've been to some other optometry practices that had me waiting at least an hour before seeing the doctor! So it was a huge relief seeing my doctor within 15 minutes of check-in. My appointment was with Dr. Jennifer Lee. She made the checkup feel very simple, yet thorough, and answered every question I had. She also didn't make the appointment boring and was very easy to talk to. All in all, my entire experience with the staff and doctors was very professional, nice, and would definitely recommend to others. read more

*1/5 Stars - Disappointing Experience at [Clinic Name]* I had the misfortune of visiting this clinic, and I must warn others. The staff was unfriendly from the start. When I entered the examination room, I overheard the supervisor say, "Oh no, another new patient," which set a negative tone. Dr. Tarek Alasil, the vitreoretinal specialist, examined my eyes without providing any explanation. When I inquired about the lesion on my left eye, he simply told me to return in four weeks. I received my eye exam today and picked out a pair of new glasses. The entire time everything was very professional and relaxing for me. Dr. Lee was very forthcoming in telling me about caring for my eyes, I do see two other doctors at Acuity for glaucoma. The gentleman that helped me in choosing my glassed was very polite and also helped a great deal in helping me to choose the right pair of glasses for me. i had two cataracts removed by dr. grant, and now i can see excellent again. he is very good and the staff, also. i would recommend to anyone to go there, they are professionals and know what they are doing. your eyes are one of the most important to your body. you cannot do anything without them. i thank dr. grant, from the bottom of my heart that i can see again. oh, what a feeling. i feel new again, before, i was stuck in the house, could not go anywhere and feeling very depressed. when you have your eyes, it made me feel reborn again. read more

Everyone from the desk, to the one who does the exam, to the doctor, to the optician..... they have always made me feel like we've been old friends. I was in need of an evaluation for my cataracts. My vision has become fuzzier over time, and it is now the right time to take action. They were very professional taking the necessary measurements for the inside of my eyes and mapping pictures to guide the surgeons when the procedure is performed several weeks from now.
