My once a year check up to see an ophthalmologist. I've seen two other doctors from here before. My last visit they were not that nice but this time they were friendly and had good bedside manners. My nurse she was really sweet she took all my tests before I met with the dr. I parked out front and you have to take the elevator up, but was a pretty quick visit. Did some tests and they dilated my pupils so that made my eyes really sensitive after that for some reason, but was able to drive home alright sort of. I was really blurry, dizzy and nauseous and felt like I needed to lay down when I got home so I did and took a nap. Never happened to me before after getting dilated, maybe this week has just been a bit much on me but I appreciated their kindness and the Dr was friendly too, I like how clean it is and they had some cute Halloween decorations up everywhere too. This place is a mess. Our appointment was at 2 PM and we waited over an hour just to get called back, then another hour before the doctor finally came in, and she barely spoke to us for a minute before leaving. Total waste of time. The front desk girl was unbelievably rude and clearly not trained. The woman on the right kept insisting she couldn't find our insurance, but after I pushed back, the girl on the left found it immediately. If one person can do it in seconds, the other has no excuse. It's unprofessional and shows how poorly this office is run. This wasn't a one time issue either. This was our third visit, and every single time we've waited around two hours total just to see the doctor for barely a minute. That's not a scheduling issue at this point, this place is just consistently slow, disorganized, and disrespectful of people's time. I got an emergency to go check my eyes right before Thanksgiving. Thank God! They let me in and I checked eye vision as well as Cataract by Dr. Diana Bandak. The staff are all friendly, very attentive. Especially my doctor Bandak was so attentive, checked my eyes in details. I couldn't see anything that day w my old glasses. As soon as I had a new prescription then I went to my optometry to ask a new pair of glasses. I tested right away my new glasses late night and I felt much better. I was waiting for 10 hours since I had eyedrop by the eye doctor, I could see almost back to normal at night. Not flashing, not blurry, just clear to see the headlights, street lights, and traffic lights. Thanks a lot for the great treatment. Thanks! All the staff and my doctor!!! I want to give a huge shout out to HILDA at the Acuity Eye Contact Center! I called because I saw the eye doctor a month ago and had not heard back regarding my referral to an eye surgeon. My insurance told me that they never received an authorization and I was so upset .. cause I'm in pain from the Lacrimal Cyst. I finally got a hold of "Hilda" and she went above and beyond her job.. got a hold of the doctors office, the actual doctors assistant.. explained what happened and within one hour LIZ called and said they are sending a new referral to Dr. Tao and will call me when it's approved! .. What the actual disaster this place is. I amde an appointment in August for November 13. Having trouble seeing and pain in the eyes. They called yesterday to confirm and i said yes i will make it Today i went in just to be told they don't accept my insurance. They made me wait 3 months to let me know that they don't accept my insurance. Reallly I still can't believe the unprofessional behavior.save yourself and don't go there. Hello people. I rarely take the time to write a review but this office truly deserves a good review. Well, I had a great experience at this eye care office. The staff was courteous and professional. My wait time wasn't long which I appreciated. Then I was THROUGHLY examined by Dr. Diana Bandak who made me feel very comfortable and well cared for. She took her time to examine me, ask me questions and listen to my replies. I must say I was pleasantly surprised that she has great bedside manner because most doctors want to give you a quick checkup and just rush you through. After the exam I was taken to eyewear area to choose my glasses and the welcoming woman there was very kind and respectful too. She took her time with me and made sure I was content with my choice of glasses, and I didn't feel rushed at all. So overall I give this eye care office FIVE stars. read more

Took my dad to get his eye checked today and the optometrist Dr Bandak was super nice and patient and the lady Vanessa who fit my dad's glasses was well beyond exceptional about explaining and answering questions. Dr was amazing, but unfortunately my significant other was supposed to be prescribed medication and it was never sent to the pharmacy. That was on Tuesday. Today is Friday and it has still not been prescribed. It's ridiculous because we have called everyday since Tuesday and keep getting the run around (from the office and call center). Today they told us that they "notified" the doctor via sticky note and she still has not put it in. So from 9am this morning till 3pm right now it still has not been placed. I get being busy and all but this Dr stated she wanted to see him back in a month to see how these drops will help over the month that he takes them. If he does not receive them today (Friday 8/1/25) that means he will go the weekend without them. Now leading to us having to call back again Monday and waiting longer. So he will have missed 1-2 weeks out of that month (that she would like to see how they help) without these drops. Completely unacceptable and bad patient care. I have worked in medical offices for years and currently work in a hospital. If a patient needs something and I say I will get it taken care of, I do that. Even if I have to constantly remind the Dr. without being called by the patient. Get it together and do your job. If not then get out of patient care because you clearly have no business in it. Regardless if it's the fault of the staff or Dr. it should be taken care of promptly. read more

Dr Bandak is AMAZING!! I've been stuck using steroid eyedrops for years - every time I tried to get off them, my eyes would get red, swollen, light sensitive, and sticky with gunk. She started me on new drops that deal with the inflammation, but don't have the side effects of the steroids. I'm finally free of steroid eye drops for the first time in YEARS!! I'm seriously thankful that she thought outside of the box to help me with my chronic allergic conjunctivitis. read more

I was self-referred to this office because I found them through the CalOptima/ Medi-Cal Provider Directory website. I was promised by the front desk when I made my appointment that the doctor would accept my traditional (non-HMO) Medicare and anything billable to Medi-Cal as payment in full/Insurance Only, as I am long-term unemployed I have no personal income, and if they were not able or willing to do this for me I would have kept calling different offices until I found someone who would. This promise was reiterated when I arrived for my appointment, and once more again when I was leaving the office following my visit with the doctor. That was three times that I was promised that the doctor would indeed see me as insurance only, payment in full. I was also promised the doctor could/would evaluate me for symptoms of thyroid eye disease, which was the only reason I made the appointment. Both of these promises were LIES. I am being billed for services, and I was not even seen nor evaluated nor treated for the possible thyroid eye disease diagnosis as I SPECIFICALLY requested. Turns out that none of the physicians in this group is specialized enough to evaluate for thyroid eye disease. And, so, I was also promised to be referred to another different ophthalmic medical specialist physician to evaluate me for possible thyroid eye disease, yet I am still waiting for 2 months and after two additional phone calls to try and get this information. They still have not even given me a name of the physician to whom they promised to refer me. I used to work in healthcare. I worked for a specialist ophthalmologist surgeon, and a large group of general surgeons. I did the front desk, I did medical assisting, I did office scheduling, I did surgery scheduling, I did insurance billing and authorizations. I know how this stuff works, which is why I was so careful in my requests. This office was the most abysmal horrible experience I have ever had when seeking Medical care. Do not use this Eye Medicine Specialist Practice unless you get EVERYTHING that you require, request, and expect in writing beforehand! read more

I would highly NOT recommend this place. They are overbooked and literally unreachable via phone. Their hours of operations on Google says 4 pm, Yelp says 4:30, and they will accept appointments way after that. I initially went there and saw Dr Tran who unfortunately has left. He was a lot more caring, taking the time with his clients, and not making them feel rushed. But even then, they are almost always running behind and my first appointment with him over 5 years ago, I recall Dr Tran ran over an hour or so behind schedule! Recently I went in for my annual check up and get contacts and the lady doctor, don't recall, was incredibly unprofessional making sure I knew they only have a certain amount of time to see each client, and she was over an hour late too! And then had no idea what my prescription was which sent a frenzy!! I was in the office for over two hours before I was even done! They all seemed stressed out and frankly highly incompetent. And then there's their phone!! No one picks up! And I get a call back days after I leave a message! Overall, incredibly frustrating and annoying! If you want to save yourself a headache just by waiting over an hour to be seen, I highly recommend you to go elsewhere!! read more

The lobby was packed when I came in to get glasses on a Tuesday morning, but the great staff here demonstrated professionalism and high efficiency. The eye exam was divided into 3 parts and I didn't wait for more than 15 minutes in between each part. When doctor Henry Tran did the detailed exam for my eyes, he was very patient and communicative. After that Vanessa helped me with choosing my glasses. She found out my insurance doesn't say it cover lenses and frames. I told her my primary doctor told me it does so she had to call someone to confirm. Eventually they confirmed that the insurance will cover everything and I'm grateful for her effort. I had a great experience at Acuity Eye Group. All staff members were friendly and made my appointment efficient. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by Elizabeth. Since it was my first time at the office, I had questions about insurance and parking validation, which were all answered. I was moved through each stage of my appointment quickly yet was informed of what was going on at each stage. Janet and Alfredo, who took care of the initial scans before the exam, explained each procedure and answered all my questions about the tests. My exam was with Dr. Tran, who thoroughly explained my results and provided clear recommendations for next steps I should take to take care of my eye health. read more

Going to Acuity Eye Group was a positive experience. The entire staff was pleasant and polite. However the reason I am writing this review is to particularly complement Sarah. Sarah helped me choose my new glasses and was very efficient and good at her job. When I had last visited your office two years previously I had been in with my husband who died shortly thereafter. Returning to your office made for an emotional day for me. Sarah could not have been kinder or more patient. It meant a lot to me that she made the process easier. Do not waste your time at this place. My first visit to the clinic took over 2 hours for a typical eye exam for glasses and contacts. Personally, I've never had an exam take more than 1 hour. They did not carry my brand of contacts that I prefer which was not an issue and after my initial visit I decided to try a different brand which they were offering and order a trial pair of the brand I prefer. Two weeks later the trial contacts came in and they contacted me via cell and left a message to schedule a follow up visit. I have tried calling their office directly and the 24/7 call center. It does not seem like they have any competent employees able or willing to answer the phone. I have now been on hold for over an hour on two separate phones (as I'm writing this review) If you need things done in a timely manner do not bother trying to get seen at this eye group. read more

Be careful before you go to any location of this Acuity Eye Group. My daughter went to Fullerton location on July 22nd 2021 for eye and contact lens fitting. Before she leaves they always take payments or copays. She paid with credit cards.Now after almost one year they are sending her statements that she still owns balance. I am so glad she paid with CC, otherwise she has to pay again. They keep billing again and again even though we told them it was paid. My wife went to the La Palma office and she paid with cash. Unfortunately we cannot find a receipt. Now they are sending us a statement after one year that we did not pay. read more

Took my 80 year old father in for an eye appointment and I have never experienced such disrespectful and rude staff, the optometrist didn't bother introducing himself and treated my father as if he was stupid ( he is a retired surgeon). I am a physician as well and having. experienced this type of bedside manner gives clinicians a bad name. Being that he didn't bother introducing himself, it is hard to say who our optometrist was, but I hope someone from this office identifies him and gives him some basic customer experience lessons. On my last visit I asked every person I came in contact with to call in a refill of my prescription. I spoke to three people. I clearly stated which pharmacy. Nobody called it in. Dr. Henrry Tran gave me good impression when I visited his office at Acuity Eye Group in Fullerton first time for following up my cataract surgery late January 2023 and second time early February 2023. He went extra steps to check my eyes beyond cataract surgery following up. He is very responsible and really cares about the patient. He is patient and explained about my eye condition in details, and also provided educational information for caring my eyes. It is important for me to be able to trust a doctor and feel that I can rely on him or her for my health. Dr. Tran is one of these doctors. read more

Had an appt for cinco de Mayo. Arrived early and was told there was no appt yet they called the night before? The receptionist with attitude change the appt to June 2. Again we arrived 20 mins early and with the same attitude was informed they were on time and no worries. Over an hour later still not done. We have been waiting for our appointment for over a month and just recieved a call that appointment was cancelled because Dr is going on vacation. If a doctor is taking a vacation a common courtesy to his patients is to plan ahead and not make appointments for that time. This is the second time different Dr that this has happened. We planned our vacation around previously scheduled appointments so now we would have to wait an additional 2 months to see the Dr at this office. I asked to speak to him or have him call me I was told he doesn't speak to patients. What???? I was then hung up on. Needless to say we are getting a new Dr. No longer interested in using Acuity Eye Care I prefer to find a Dr that treats his patients with more respect. I have never been to a medical office that has no communication. Took my mother for an appointment. Our first two nurse were very nice. When we called for back to see the doctor, we were not introduce by names. All doors were open no privacy. Doctor did not introduce himself. Dr. Was going to perform an eye ultrasound and MACHINE/SOFTWARE WAS ACTING UP. Dr and his assistant seem they were having a bad. Please don't show it we notice it. My mom got two injections. First one he did not use gloves. Once Dr left for the second injections, he quotes" bye" and left the room. We were not give after visit instructions,there was no plan, no COMMUNICATION. Pros: Receptionist was nice and inviting. New patient process was easy. The waiting and testing rooms were all clean. Each employee made sure to sanitize the equipment in front of you. All the employees were friendly and smiling when they greeted you. The doctor was so nice and very informative. He was extremely thorough with his testing. It was a pleasant appointment. Best part, they gave me a sunglass shade to put behind my glasses. I havent worn sunglasses in years because of my bad sight, so this finally allowed me to drive home wearing some shades! Con: Parking on 1st floor was pretty tight. My husband was waiting in the car and when other cars were backing up, they almost hit my car a couple of times. Took my mother in law to this place, and just so you know if you only speak spanish do not come here they will treat you like you dont excist!!! The staff is rude and they pretend like they dont speak spanish just so they wont respond to your questions. I went with my father to Dr Culotta. We waited 1.5 hours and he spent 3 minutes with us. He diagnosed my father wit wet macular disease and gave him a shot of Avastin. This was on a Friday and it was a long weekend with Mon a holiday. My father got an eye infection with a very red and inflamed eye. Using Avastin comes with risks including loosing your eye and there were lawsuits, knowing that puts a lot of stress on the patient. We went to the Emergency after the infection as no doctor was available during the weekend including Dr Culotta for an in person consultation. I guess because I gave Dr Culotta a bad evaluation next time we saw him he was not answering one of my question I had , my father was experiencing floaters after 5 weeks from the injection. He looked very unfriendly and unprofessional to me. And he did not want to give my father any more injections even after I told him that I read on the internet that standard treatment is one year shots for wet MD. read more

My first time there was a pretty good experience. Dr. Tran was fast; yet thorough during my examination. He was nice enough to educate me on contact lenses especially for first timer. And, answer all my questions. Though, I do not appreciate the, I believe, it was the optometrist in training bad mouthing me when I was uncomfortable and struggling having something on or near my eyes next door. It was unprofessional especially when I was being nice enough to apologize for the struggle. This place has extremely thin walls. They operated on my retina a bit over 3 months ago. Though the distortion of shapes has lessened, it still exists. My overall vision has deteriorated significantly. I was looking for my final post operative check-up, to determine the success or failure of my surgery. The day before my long awaited appointment, I received a voice mail stating that, because they were not a part of my new insurance. (Keep in mind that these were both Anthem policies) , they were canceling my appointment. I called them back as soon as I got the message. I explained that I had not been aware that they were not a part of their group. Having said that, I let them know that I felt that they had some responsibility to evaluate my eye, given that they had operated on it and I had not been released. I offered to pay a reasonable amount for the appointment. I asked her to estimate the cost of the visit. She stated that she had no idea and would have someone call me the following day. Noone has called me, or reached out in any way I did not expect them to continue to treat me, given that my insurance no longer represents their group of doctors. I did, however, expect that they would examine my eye, post surgery. I did not expect any thing for free. I only asked that they provide an estimate for the cost of the visit.
