I hired Active Pest Control to remove bird nesting from underneath tiles that are above my porch. I also wanted something installed under the tiles to prevent the birds from nesting there again. I was very pleased with this service. The company came out first to do a free inspection and found another nesting area around the side of my house that I was unaware of. They also noted some screening to block entry of rodents/insects that needed to be reinforced. Service was scheduled for the following week and the two service technicians were friendly and professional. They took care of everything that was identified during the inspection within a couple of hours and the cost was reasonable. No idea how they have good reviews.. initial spraying was okay. But we saw bugs again less than 2 weeks later. They came out. We wanted a respray and to go under house and spray for good measure. 100 bucks extra. Not to bad. But because it was raining, he didn't want to go under house. I've been a plumber for 20 years. Never once could I use that excuse. So we reschedule for 1 to 3 another day. I clean out kitchen for spray. Put my dogs in garage. And at 1: 22 pm they cancel(my appointment window was 1 to 3). Saying they had equipment issue. Which is b.s... It's a little pump sprayer. Tell me you don't have another one? I call back and get an answering service which means they closed for the day. Soon after, the technician Will came out to start the work. That particular day, the weather was super unpredictable with sporadic heavy rain but he really went above and beyond to complete as much as he could. The work he wasn't able to finish was by technician Alonzo who was just as good as well as friendly. Active Pest Control came out to my home a few weeks ago for a pest control issue. It started when I noticed droppings outside and I saw the great reviews for this company. I called in, and although did not have immediate availability which wasn't ideal but I understand, I booked them to come out with pricing agreed to up front on laying traps. When the sales person came out to do an inspection, he really did not want to take a look in my attic or under the house. Rather, he saw a few droppings and started telling me stories about some of the worst infestations he has seen in the past. He told me that if we didn't take service right then and there we would experience the same, and that definitely scared us. He then took the original quote for traps and increased it by 20 times (that is not an overestimation, it was over 20 times what they said on the phone). Thankfully, I had another pest control agency from nearby come to take a look and give us a second opinion. They gave me a completely different and much better experience - and were VERY thorough, going into my crawl space and attic during the free quote. Anyway, I ended up paying a lot less with the second company and not only did they fix the problem but more importantly I didn't feel like I was being swindled. read more

I rent a unit in a 100+ yr old building in Long Beach with shared walls & pipes. There's a neighbor who isn't as diligent about pest control and cleanliness and as a result I see a roach every couple months or so. I hate roaches. I have absolutely no tolerance for roaches, I see one and freak out. Sal sprayed my unit today as I had seen a roach by my kitchen sink earlier in the week and was worried. He came in and tackled every corner, crevice and baseboard. He was extremely nice and patient with me, he explained his process, treatment chemicals and knowledge. He explained type of roaches I was seeing and assured me I was doing everything right. I told him I was nervous about a certain space in my kitchen due to previous activity in that area and was too scared to empty out the drawers. (I'm not joking when I say I'm scared of roaches). Highly recommend!! Unfortunately we had rodents in the inside of our home, we immediately contacted Active Pest Control and they came out the next morning, set traps throughout the house. A couple of days later a follow up visit with Will Acosta -pest control tech- came to pick up the 3 rodents caught in the traps! Thank you! The technician Juan came out to do the bora-care treatment and spot treatment where there was drywood termite damage. He was very knowledgeable and respectful! He wore his mask and booties when entering and also placed a cloth on the floor when he used the ladder to go in the attic. He sprayed the attic and went under the house for the bora-care treatment. While under the house, he also noticed subterranean termites under my dining area and went above and beyond to go back under there to spray with another chemical to kill the queen termite. He also replaced 2 damaged posts at the gazebo, spot treated my backdoor, garage door molding, and wood at the front porch. He was an overall excellent tech and glad he came out today. Used in late 2020, Get someone else to do your wood repairs, they outsourced it to this handyman and his work was not good. The wood repairs was mostly just globbing on bondo. He asked me if he's finished, like Idk, I'm not your boss. No one from Active came to check his work. It was my first time working with a termite company or witnessing any sort of "wood repair" so didn't really know what to expect. Had crawlspace sprayed by Active (best part of experience), had "wood repairs" done and was scheduled to tent but they missed their 4 hour window (I had to call) so I was over it. They tried really hard to accommodate afterward, but too little too late. No call, no show is not acceptable. Switched to a new termite company and they laughed at the wood repair. read more

Referred by the property mgmt company that manages my apts, but this was for my home. i have a horrible rat infestation, with 80% of my attic covered w/rat/raccoon and possum feces and urine. Got 4 quotes, and this was competitive, but more importantly has a guarantee and clearly this guy knows what he's talking about. Came out on Friday, placed traps while he was here, and was here on Monday to start the sealing work. Alex Nunez, the service guy, was clean, friendly, so professional and efficient!
