It turned out that the sidewall was punctured and not fixable, but they ordered the same tire and put on the spare for me (no charge). I came back in a few hours and it got done. This is old-school; the way things should be. Then you look around and see a fleet of high-end Mercedes, Audis, and BMWs. And they treated me well with a *Corolla*! This is a *good* auto shop.

To be sure, they wanted a large sum of money just to investigate the source (even though Subaru's own technical guidance referred specifically to 3 likely sources), then the repair itself. I took my car to Advanced Auto Repair for a second opinion. They were methodical in looking for the water leak. They removed the back interior panels to expose the area, then the car went through a car wash and inspected. They found the leak and repaired it. The cost to me was hundreds less the Subaru dealership. The folks here treated me with respect, kindness and really listened to my concerns. The biggest concern I had when coming to repairing the damages is "Will it truly look the same as before the incident?" B2 Perfection answered that question through their work and attention to detail. My car looks brand new after coming out of repair every time and a big reason why I keep coming to B2 for my repairs is because of their team. Marco was my advisor at B2 for the 2 most recent incidents and he is probably one of the best repair advisors I've worked with. My 1992 Honda Civic VX had developed an annoying squeak/rattle in the back that I had no idea what…read morewas causing it. I listened carefully to pinpoint, plus lubricated the entire rear hatch seal with Honda Shin-ETSU silicone grease, but no luck. Finally it was time to take my car to a body shop to see if a pro could fix the squeak. I asked my good car service shop, Foreign Affair, for their recommendation, and Tim there recommended Autobahn Body & Paint in Mountain View. Peter at Autobahn was the squeak/rattle expert, and on my visit there he drove the car on a short loop over a bumpy street so he could hear the noise. Then back at the shop's parking lot, he thumped and bounced and shook the car trying to poinpoint the sound. Nothing. Then over the next several days he coached me on places to lubricate the car -- hinges and latches and what kind of oil/lube to use. One at a time, in order, so we'd KNOW which spot fixed the noise. Bingo! Spot three was the winner! The noise was coming from the center latch and hook between the bottom of the rear window and the top of the tailgate. Lubricating that latch with lithium grease quieted the car, so wonderful to have that annoying, loud squeak/rattle finally gone! I really appreciate Peter's experience and methodical approach to diagnose this VERY difficult to find noise! I recommend Autobahn Body & Paint to anyone with a mysterious car body sound that is driving them crazy. I also appreciate Peter's professionalism and keeping costs down by involving me in the diagnosis and fix.
