They kind of stepped up their game a little bit in the past 2 years. I was referred to this place by my insurance agent and they were the ones dispatched to me. Although my insurance is known to have very terrible wait times for roadside assistance, waiting for these guys was so worth it. The dude that came to tow my car was very laid back which is usual in a good way. He was very considerate in taking care of my mum's car after she accidentally put the wrong fuel in the car. Was very clear with the towing process including asking where should the car be towed. When the car arrived at the repair shop, the technician was very courteous to my local mechanic (never seen this part). He was very careful with my mum's car. After the service was complete, I managed to drop a "cool truck" compliment to the company. Drawback: The website needs some fixing. read more

these guys came to my house, and tried to tow my car from in front of my house. i am waiting for my dmv appointment so i can my new tags. because of covid i am not able to go to the dmv without an appointment. i have had the appointment for over 3 months. my tags are paid for and i have all the proper paperwork. they dragged my vehicle, ruined our newly paved street, my car is now making weird noises and on top of it charged me to take the car off their truck. an absolute disgrace. you'll be hearing from the city and my lawyer read more

My brother's car was recently involved in an accident and as evident from his accounts and pictures taken at the scene, the car seemed to be at a total loss. The car was then immediately towed to Silicon Valley Auto Body & Tow. ****NOTE: WHILE THE PROPERTY MAY BE CALLED SILICON VALLEY AUTO BODY & TOW, IT"S ACTUALLY TWO DIFFERENT ENTITIES UNDER THE SAME PROPRIETOR. THEREFORE THIS REVIEW IS ONLY RELEVANT TO THE TOWING SIDE. Props to whoever called and them responding in such a timely manner. But without further digressing from the issue, you could assume as to the steps that follow soon after an accident and a total loss. Anyway, when I went to retrive the car, I had spoken to Mike on the phone and upon meeting him, he was friendly and professional. As a matter of fact, first impressions on Silicon Valley Auto Body & Tow were pretty good. The business was well kept, clean, and safe. Mike was a pleasure to work with and made this whole ordeal easier to cope with. ****ADJUSTMENT: After speaking with someone at the business regarding my review, I am making the proper adjustments to accomodate the experience. Once again, this review is only relevant towards the towing-side of the company. While I have yet to work with the auto body side of the company, I would say that their staff do strongly care about their business and their customers. (Why else would they have called concerning my review?) So why the 2-star rating? I definitely feel that while there are some pros, including Mike and his professional demeanor, the way the towing-side of the business is run may need some improvement. Whether or not Silicon Valley Auto Body & Tow has a contract with the city and its towing needs is one thing, but it definitely needs to consider revising it's storage policy. The car was stored there for 2 days and on the 3rd day, around 12PM, i went to pick up the car and signed for its release. I was charged the initial towing fee which is pretty standard and then the $55/day fee. Total however, I was charged for 3 days which amounted to roughly $165 for storage alone. They say that their "per day" storage policy covers the first 4 hours of the day and if the car is there longer than that grace period then the day would be charged. So although the car was stored there for LESS THAN 72 hours (72 hours usually equals 3 days) I was charged for 3 days. I think policies like these definitely need to be address and changed. It's definitely bad for business. Unless they address this policy, for those who are involved in accidents (and I really hope none of you do) avoid having your car towed here. There are a plethora of towers around Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, and San Jose. Do your research and make the event of an accident even less damaging on yourself. read more

The only reason that this place gets any stars at all is because of the guy who walked us back to our car and let me sit there and examine it for a good 20 minutes without bothering us. He obviously knew how upset I was, and he was content to sit off to the side and let us alone. HOWEVER - Tow companies that contract with local law enforcement agencies overcharge by at least double their normal towing and storage costs because they *can*. On the back wall of their office you can PLAINLY see that they charge you based on who arrested you, and they very obviously charge the most for the wealthier cities (which they had listed as Los Altos, fortunately not were our car was picked up). Their Tow, Storage, AND After-Hours gate fees all depend on who you were arrested by, which is just WRONG WRONG WRONG. We picked up our vehicle within *10 Hours* of it being towed, and it had only been towed literally 4 miles. They charged us 50$ for a day of storage and 250$ for the tow, which means they charged us **62.50$** a mile. Who, exactly do you think that you are joking Silicon Valley Towing?? These people take advantage of you because they can, because police departments put them in a position of authority that they can then make mass amounts of money on. You can't get your vehicle back until you pay their fees, and they'll charge you every single penny that they can get away with or take your vehicle away and auction it for the money. read more

Wow - reading the other reviews, I'm jealous of the excellent rates and in-offensive service they received. On the bright side, I did get my car back from them, but... My car was towed a few miles and because it took me over 4 hrs (less than 5) to get a friend to help me pick it up, I was rewarded with a $65 daily storage fee on top of the $185 towing. Bonus! But that IS their printed policy, so my bad for not knowing that. The part that really inspired me to write this was the customer service. When I picked it up, I asked politely about a discount on that bonus "daily" charge, since $65 seemed a bit generous for occupying a basic open air parking space for a few hours in the middle of the day. Silly me! Mr Behind the Counter actually responded not just with a belittling decline, but with the added wisdom "that's how we make our money." (witness avilable) Oh - well ...good to have pride in what you do! And you DO seem to enjoy it. So, if you're looking for an opportunity to drop some hard earned money in a few short hours AND leave feeling bullied by the staff, I highly recommend this place. Too many other places are fair, pleasant, even want their customers to feel they got what they paid for. You won't have that problem here. read more

My experience here was good right from scheduling to getting the body work done. I had a parking lot fender bender on driver side door, the other party had already admitted fault and agreed to pay out of pocket and not involve insurance. Fair enough. I reached out to Jim and he gave a detailed estimate based on his quick inspection of the vehicle, he detailed on the body work needed to be done, that it might just get fixed by a quick polish and wash if not then the entire door would need to be removed and whole procedure would need to be done. After the initial polish and car wash the door was restored to its near original state (lucky that were was no significant dent in the first place) so there was no need for any intensive repair work. Overall I was happy with the work done and will recommend. On a different note would like to acknowledge Jim, he is very knowledgeable and nice person to talk to. read more

On 8/3/2017 I was stranded on 237, called 911, 911 sent Silicon Valley Tow. Driver was not happy to be there and let me know it. While driving to my repair shop, the driver complained about every perceived offense by every driver, yes every driver. It was a long 8 miles to my repair shop! At my repair shop, the driver got into 2 arguments with the repair shop owner regarding where to drop my car. I've had my car towed to my repair shop before, twice, and both drivers (from 2 different companies) placed it in the exact same location this driver was asked to drop it. The driver threatened to drop it in the road. Very bad experience all around. I didn't have a choice regarding this company or driver but next time I will refuse to be towed by this guy if he shows up. read more

I was blown away with the repair work done on my Nissan Leaf. I had two separate accidents in which something fell on my car from an overpass and someone keyed the side of my car. Jim gave me two quotes, but I only decided to only get one area fixed at this time. During the repair, they accidentally started on the other area. After realizing their mistake, they decided to fix both areas for the same price. I'm so impressed with their professionalism and quality of work. I highly recommend them for repair work. read more

Really great company if you need your car towed from one place to another. They used a flatbed truck so no scratches or dings on my car. They were very nice, quick, courteous and the rates were great. They didn't even charge extra for traffic. I even got a ride in the tow truck to the mechanic. On our long ride from Redwood City to Sunnyvale, in traffic, the guy did mention to me that the law enforcement requires them to be able to show up immediately. Maybe that's why they have higher costs for law enforcement tows. read more

I was recently involved in an accident on my way to work, and had my car towed to Silicon Valley Tow. The driver, Dennis, was very friendly and helpful. After I arrived at the shop I called my insurance and found that it be best to have my car towed to a preferred auto shop near San Mateo. Mike, who was at the front desk helped me work with the other auto shop to have my car moved. In about 15 minutes I was back in the tow truck with Dennis. After we dropped off my car in San Mateo, Dennis was kind enough to help me clear out my car and drove me back home afterwards. I really appreciated the quality service and it definitely made the whole incident a lot easier to deal with. read more
