They kind of stepped up their game a little bit in the past 2 years. I was referred to this place by my insurance agent and they were the ones dispatched to me. Although my insurance is known to have very terrible wait times for roadside assistance, waiting for these guys was so worth it. The dude that came to tow my car was very laid back which is usual in a good way. He was very considerate in taking care of my mum's car after she accidentally put the wrong fuel in the car. Was very clear with the towing process including asking where should the car be towed. When the car arrived at the repair shop, the technician was very courteous to my local mechanic (never seen this part). He was very careful with my mum's car. After the service was complete, I managed to drop a "cool truck" compliment to the company. Drawback: The website needs some fixing. read more

I was sideswiped in front of my house and when I contacted AAA this was one of the shops that had rental cars available. I didn't want to have to mess with going to a different location to get my rental car. Once I had the approval AAA I made an appointment to come in and get an estimate for my car. I didn't need an appointment but I made one to simplify things. When I arrived everyone was very nice and helpful. Theresa came out and looked at the scratches and damage to my car. She walked all around the car to look for any additional damage besides just what I showed her. Within a couple days I had an appointment to bring in my car. My rental car was waiting for me and it was very easy to drop off my car and then drive away with the rental. In almost a week my car was ready to go. Wonderful work & service! My Nissan Leaf's rear bumper got repaired here with the insurance coverage. They returned the car with detailed car wash, and it looked brand new! Trust me, you can't go wrong at Silicon Valley Auto Body! Everyone here was extremely nice, professional and accommodating. I called on a Tuesday morning and T was so helpful over the phone. She told me I can come right in and they'd give me an estimate within 15 minutes. This place is located right off H101 and near my apartment so it was super convenient. I met with Chris and he was extremely personable and made this whole process go by smoothly. I didn't think they'd take my car right away, but they did and I was out of there within 15 minutes with a 2016 Camry rental. Jim called me I believe the same day and updated me on the estimate and he took care of everything with my insurance (AAA). The car was ready within the 7-10 business days they originally quoted me for and the work was flawless. I'm not a car expert, but I could tell that they paid attention to detail and performed quality work. I never want to be in a minor accident or predicament where I need an auto body shop... I had an appointment to repair a minor collision damage on my SUV. The office lady called me to say the part was ready and scheduled the repair. I drove the car in and got stood up. They didn't even seen to know about my appointment at first and then eventually claimed the part wasn't ready. I haven't even heard from them since then. I just had my Honda Odyssey side panel replacement. Of course the quality is great and what I really liked the most was they are punctual in time. They don't say anything that is not 100% sure on delivery but they tried to meet my delivery request and they made it happen. Honesty and follow up was great. The car was not ready when we arrived at the shop and had to come back next day and this is just so typical things to happen. Next day we came back the car was ready and when I was about to leave they asked me for my credit card number again. I was puzzled because I already made a payment yesterday. They told me that they would like to give me a discount ! because it was not typical thing for them to happen and they had me to come twice. They offered me without asking anything! This shop came highly recommended by someone I know who also works in the automotive industry, and now I know why. They did not disappoint! Dealing with the aftermath of an auto collision is never a pleasant experience, but they made it a lot less stressful by being very friendly (excellent customer service), informative (regularly emailed status updates), and fairly priced. They even coordinated my rental car for me, and I was able to pick it up right at their shop... super convenient! While they were working on the damage to the front of my car, they also noticed that the latch on my trunk was broken (totally unrelated, but desperately in need of repair!), so they ordered the part and fixed that for me too! And at less than half the price that my auto dealership quoted me. And did I mention that they throw in a free interior and exterior car detail?!?! SCORE!!!! If you're unlucky enough to get in an accident (on Halloween no less), consider yourself extremely lucky to have found Silicon Valley Auto Body, like I did. Jim is absolutely wonderful - he is clear, thorough and knowledgable when it comes to car issues, but also very friendly and outgoing -- sort of like the Uncle you never had (or maybe still do!). The first thing Jim asked me on the phone when I called to tell him I needed a new bumper was, "You okay?" Right away, that gave me a great first impression of the type of customer service would follow. Accidents are stressful, and SVAB takes stress out of the equation, as much as they possibly can. Their staff is professional, timely and skilled. SVAB worked with my insurance and my bumper was replaced without a hitch. What's great is that you don't have to rent a car somewhere else - they are an extension of Hertz and can rent you out a Hertz rental on-site. Two birds, one stone - I was able to get a car and get to work the day after my accident like nothing happened. After I picked up my car, I noticed a funny but intermittent noise and Jim worked with me until we figured out what it was (brake pads) and showed me photos on his camera when I came to pick up my car. What made my experience memorable was the attention to detail and extremely high level of customer service Jim provided. These guys treat you like family, and you feel completely taken care of -- what more can you ask for in a time of stress? Owner Jim is one of the most experienced guy in business and has a SHARP eye. He is able to point out damage that I can't even see myself. Staff there are very serious about their work. It's good to see such a great old school body shop doing business the right way. Previously I went to anderson behel body shop when my vette was rear ended. That body shop grossly underestimated the repair cost and were not willing to inspect carefully. My brother's car was recently involved in an accident and as evident from his accounts and pictures taken at the scene, the car seemed to be at a total loss. The car was then immediately towed to Silicon Valley Auto Body & Tow. ****NOTE: WHILE THE PROPERTY MAY BE CALLED SILICON VALLEY AUTO BODY & TOW, IT"S ACTUALLY TWO DIFFERENT ENTITIES UNDER THE SAME PROPRIETOR. THEREFORE THIS REVIEW IS ONLY RELEVANT TO THE TOWING SIDE. Props to whoever called and them responding in such a timely manner. But without further digressing from the issue, you could assume as to the steps that follow soon after an accident and a total loss. Anyway, when I went to retrive the car, I had spoken to Mike on the phone and upon meeting him, he was friendly and professional. As a matter of fact, first impressions on Silicon Valley Auto Body & Tow were pretty good. The business was well kept, clean, and safe. Mike was a pleasure to work with and made this whole ordeal easier to cope with. ****ADJUSTMENT: After speaking with someone at the business regarding my review, I am making the proper adjustments to accomodate the experience. Once again, this review is only relevant towards the towing-side of the company. While I have yet to work with the auto body side of the company, I would say that their staff do strongly care about their business and their customers. (Why else would they have called concerning my review?) So why the 2-star rating? I definitely feel that while there are some pros, including Mike and his professional demeanor, the way the towing-side of the business is run may need some improvement. Whether or not Silicon Valley Auto Body & Tow has a contract with the city and its towing needs is one thing, but it definitely needs to consider revising it's storage policy. The car was stored there for 2 days and on the 3rd day, around 12PM, i went to pick up the car and signed for its release. I was charged the initial towing fee which is pretty standard and then the $55/day fee. Total however, I was charged for 3 days which amounted to roughly $165 for storage alone. They say that their "per day" storage policy covers the first 4 hours of the day and if the car is there longer than that grace period then the day would be charged. So although the car was stored there for LESS THAN 72 hours (72 hours usually equals 3 days) I was charged for 3 days. I think policies like these definitely need to be address and changed. It's definitely bad for business. Unless they address this policy, for those who are involved in accidents (and I really hope none of you do) avoid having your car towed here. There are a plethora of towers around Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, and San Jose. Do your research and make the event of an accident even less damaging on yourself. read more

How in the hell does an Auto Body shop have so many 5-star reviews. Come on. It's an auto body shop. Well, I'll tell you, they're getting another one from me. I had a work van rear end my Mini Cooper and run away instead of stopping to exchange information. So, it was already a crappy start. I called AAA and they got everything set up and recommended Silicon Valley Auto Body. They're a recommended shop for them. I called and made an appointment and brought the car in for a estimate. Gary was awesome. The estimate took all of 10 minutes. We set up an appointment for the next week. I brought the car in and they have rental cars on site, but I got one before. I got a call a week later that the car was done. I went to pick it up and the convenience of dropping off the rental car is awesome! The work they did was amazing! They even replaced a suspect part in the exhaust. The staff is amazing! Everyone is friendly and they really care. They're very deserving of my 5-stars and everyone elses! read more

What's the worst part of an accident? Stress. There's stress in working with the insurance company, the stress to find a reputable body shop, and the stress of having to go through the whole ordeal. Silicon Auto Body has a professional and caring team who were senstive to my situation and made the process as simple, as fast, and as easy as possible. Mike was courteous and had all the proper docs ready for me to sign. Jim was handling my case. Jim was always available when I had a question and I must of called him 3 times during the whole process. I had several requests and Jim assured me all the way that they were going to "take care" of it. I must say, I, myself always aim for perfection and most of the time I have a hard time trusting or staying relaxed while others are doing something for me. In this case at Silicon Auto Body, I had trust and was relaxed thanks to Jim, great guy. I was in there for probably 15 mins the first time in and when I picked up my vehicle, which looks amazing, better than when it came in - they even detailed the outside and inside (above and beyond-type of service), I was in for less than 10mins. I got into a hit-and-run with a motorcycle in September and dreaded the process of getting my car repaired. The damage went from the front bumper all the way down the length of the right side of my car, including the front wheel and hub cap. The bike did some serious damage. My insurance is Progressive and they recommended another shop where they wrote my quote and did the initial inspection, in Sunnyvale. I admit, the shop got great reviews but I didn't want to be lazy about looking around and doing some hw on it. I found SVAB on Yelp and after going to the shop (which was nice and quiet, not a lot of cars in their garage) I decided to work with them. There was a huge difference in atmosphere, in that the other shops were jammed with cars, the lots weren't even paved, and you felt like every other customer in the sense that you took a ticket, waited in line, and hoped they did everything right. Darren was the rep I worked with and through every step of the process he was there. We touched base, practically every day of the week for two weeks until I finally picked up my car this morning. I received photos on the progress and received tremendous support for everything. The guys did a fantastic job on the car! The service is impeccable. I get a free detail and a full body wax and shine on the house. Plus they'd taken care of all the nicks, dents and other bruises the car had received over the past 2 years. They definitely go above and beyond when it comes handing you back your car like it was brand new! As you can imagine, the whole process is pretty painful, from the initial shock of getting into an accident, working with your insurance, to finding a body shop...it takes a lot of work on your end. But Darren took care of everything the minute I handed my car keys to him. This place is amazing. Not only were they incredibly kind, but I was in an emergency and had to get my car fixed the day I came in. They were patient and gave me an estimate, a price that was under (almost half) of what I expected to pay. While I was waiting for the guy to check the estimate cost, the manager (?) offered me some water and coffee and was so polite to me. They also were just friendly people. I left my car at the shop and they even offered to drive me to work that day. On top of fixing my mirror, they also washed my car with no extra costs. They said it would be ready by noon, and it was! I didn't even notice it until a few days later, but they also fixed the rear bumper on my car that had been damaged from before. They didn't even say anything or charge me extra. My dad has been rear ended at least 5 times in the past 6 years (Why people cant see a black BMW M6!?) He has always gotten his body work done at SVAB since BMW of Mountain View suggested them when he first got rear ended. They have always been professional, and made the car look GREAT. It certainly wasn't a pleasant experience for me to have gotten rear-ended less than one mile from my home, but it WAS a pleasant experience working with the folks at SV Auto Body. So much had already been taken care of before I arrived (coordinating a Hertz loaner car and working with the guilty party's insurance agent), my process went rather seamlessly. They kept me informed throughout the entire process, with emails nearly every day. Since I have an electric car (with white carpool stickers), they took care to remove and save the old stickers to simplify my process of getting replacements. Finally, when my car was ready for me to pick up, they left it in the front of their parking lot; it was almost as if my car greeted me after missing me for four days!
