Absolutely will never recommend Action Auto to anyone. STEER CLEAR. Our 2011 GMC Acadia went to their shop March 5th 2024 with the following issues: Nonrunning Ac blows hot drivers side Humming noise on highway Window issues Dimming headlights and inside lights Over the course of almost 10 MONTHS and only working on it 5 minutes here and there (zero consistency and did not seem concerned at all with getting our vehicle fixed correctly and back to us in a reasonable time frame), these were the issues found: Splice in starter wire harness Faulty drivers window controls Twisted wiring in engine wire harness Running backwards into fuze box Needs new fuze box Needs new wire harness 1800quote New ecm 2000quote 2700 after part Got truck back late October 2025 Previous and current issues that went UNFIXED: AC still blows hot driver's Passenger window does not roll up with driver's controls Rear windows do not roll up and down with rear controls but work with driver's controls Whining power steering Check engine light - 20 codes! Front cigarette lighter doesn't work Voided warranty on tires by patching with a gummy plug WITHOUT telling us November 2024 went to shop. Check engine light 20 codes, changed battery and cleared codes. Codes came back within 30 miles. Claim this is all trickle down effect from wire harness issue and power running backwards. November 2024. Quoted over $1000 for high pressure fuel pump fix. We refused and fixed in 30 minutes on our own for less than $300. Reduced Engine Power warning still popping on and off as of March 2025 Now no inside sounds work March 2025 Stay away for the sake of everything! This is the worst shop we have ever worked with and we feel robbed due to the fact a year later we are still having issues that were supposedly "fixed". Five years ago this coming October, I was in a fender bender. My financial state was not great, so a very lovely found Action Auto in kaukauna, and since then it is the only place I will go. I took my van in for an oil change, and picked it up to find out they've probably saved my life. They always go above and beyond, so they checked the air in my tires. When they did, the valve stem exploded off my tire and hit a window. They charged me nothing, prayed over my van, and hugged me. Thank God for beautiful, amazing human beings. read more

I am not from Kaukauna WI but my daughter moved here. I am from Michigan and I drive all the time when I come to spend some time with her and my granddaughter. My daughter notice that something was leaking from my car the day before I was going to leave to go back to Michigan. Anyway from not being from around this area didn't know where to take car. I called Action Auto as soon as they opened and talked to Ed and he squeeze me in today. And he checked it out and it was a leaky shock. Ed told me that I could drive it back to Michigan, but....it will be a lil bit bumpy of a ride. Ed didn't charge me a thing!! So Thank You so much again Ed you are a life saver!! My son got into a car accident while I was at work. I called Action Auto and they had a tow truck sent out to pick it up right away. They assessed the damage and made sure to update me in detail. Not only was this place honest and friendly but so caring. I will forever be grateful for the Owner and employees at Action Auto and will take my vehicle's there for all tune up and check ups. I would never recomend this place to a friend. Surprise costs, ridiculous waiting times, bad service. I brought my car in for a simple seat repair and belt change. Took Action Auto 2 full weeks to repair, told me upfront it would cost around 700 dollars, when I went to pay.. It cost 1400 dollars. When I got my car back it was also making new klunking noises that it was previously not, when I called action auto to ask why it was doing that, they played dumb and asked me to bring it in... 1 star at best. read more

While I do my best to support the small business owner as much as possible, I wouldn't recommend this place. The guy that runs this place is very friendly and seems genuine and truthful. He even has his dogs in the shop with him - so cute. He also claims to back his "labor and parts for 36 months" - for which we shall see. (I haven't driven my vehicle long enough since the repairs to yet determine if the work is quality or not). Much like another review stated, the wait time is long and there are surprise costs. An initial $1400 quote ended up being 40% higher. Then one week later a new creaking sound started which wasn't there before. They said to bring it in, of course, and I had hoped they just forgot something but nope....it needed another new part, which was quoted at $500. Low and behold, the total I paid for that was 30% higher than quoted. Had I known they would grossly under-quote I would have gone elsewhere. read more
