    "CHICKEN FRIED" BACON

Acre in Auburn, AL, is farm-to-table dining that will take you on a culinary ride of taste buds. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a rustic yet modern decor that enhances the dining experience. The menu focuses on Southern cuisine with a contemporary twist. Service was amazing as our server knew all the ends and outs of the menu. If you want a date night or just a baller meal after a hard fought Auburn Tiger win then this is the spot.

I have heard about Acre from a couple of different people. I finally was able to try it for myself, and let me say it exceeded my expectations for food and drink quality, and atmosphere. It is in the heart of Auburn, an unlikely location for a farm to table style restaurant. It is a beautiful restaurant inside and out. String lights illuminate the pathway to the entrance. A side room that has ground to roof solid seamless glass runs parallel to the walkway. Soft lights inside cast a wonderful glow on the customers. I've never seen a more inviting ambiance. White painted brick with wood accents present a calming tone. I was greeted by three beautifying women at the hostess stand. I don't comment on appearances, but all of the people working here are young and attractive. Oddly so, but very nice. I say at the bar where Caleb took great care of me. Caleb is a great master of cocktails. He made me a delicious Gin Gimlet, I believe in the proper name. It contains mail, mint and rosemary. Absolutely delicious! He also did a great job on a bourbon drink. I don't recall the name, but very tasty. I ordered a grilled reddish meal that was phenomenal! I live on the gulf coast and have never tasted a redfish meal this good. The flavors blended is well it was a masterpiece. I had nothing else to eat, but can't wait to return with my beautiful wife.

This house is so beautiful to enjoy our graduation brunch with family and friends! Food here is always fantastic and the service is great. Esp enjoyed sharing the trio of desserts with the group.

This was a super nice surprise. We were so frustrated that we couldn't get a reservation on the only night we were in town but decided to try walk in. And we were lucky to find four seats at the bar. Such a swanky farmhouse like feel. drinks were expensive but tasty. They forgot our oyster order so provided complimentary pimento cheese to tide us over. My hubby got the duck breast and my son got shrimp rigatoni. My daughter got a Caesar salad and I had the sweet potato from their shared community garden. All was good tasting food, even if maybe a little too rich and fancy for a college town experience. Recommended for special occasions. Only reason for four stars is the wait time for the food (long) and the quality of the food was good, not excellent.

    Wife's birthday celebration!

Very disappointed with our dining experience on my wife's65th birthday celebration! After being seated at our designated reservation time, we waited 25- minutes for the wine and then 45- minutes for the entrees which were both cold. We returned them only to wait an additional 35-minutes to get the second entrees... which were actually our first meals only slightly warmer and dry. It's difficult to reheat fish a second time! A positive result, management reduced our bill taking meals off ! A class act! We gladly paid for the wine and salads! This restaurant was highly recommended by our friends and this special birthday dinner but fell short of our expectations! You need to be better!

Always one of my favorites! If nothing else swing by for peanut butter pie with banana meringue, truly my favorite dessert of all time. Appetizers like the figgy toast and the fried green tomatoes are also wonderful. The charcuterie boards are also great pairings. Drinks are tasty as well. I have dined at acre many times and the Christmastime bar menu is my favorite. Can't go wrong with acre!!!!

Acre is beautiful inside and out. From the valet, to the hostess, to the server, everyone at Acre was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We decided on a variety of starters to share as our meal, followed by dessert. We tried the "gas station" boudin balls, lacquered cornbread, fried blue crab claws, and fried green tomatoes (the star of the meal!). The fried green tomatoes are topped with fresh lump blue crab and plated on dollops of delicious homemade pimento cheese. The breading on the fried blue crab claws was heavy and mealy, which made them our least favorite. They would be amazing sautéed instead. Both the s'mores brownie and peach sundae were good, with the s'mores being our favorite. Overall, it was a great dining experience and is highly recommended!

    Best food and drink!

Very cute restaurant and a popular spot even on a monday evening. I enjoyed my salad and the co-op beets plate, it tasted fantastic but our dinner service was a bit slow. Highly recommend making a reservation as seating is limited

At each point, the valet, the host, the server, the food runner--everyone greeted us with a smile and kindness. The welcoming environment was definitely not lost one me. Now, to get to the food: I love that the oysters rotate and I tried a Blue point (my favorite), Love Shucks, and a queen's cup. Next, we went for the blue crab dip. It's served in a great for sharing cast iron skillet. The dip was delicious, and although the dill chips were nice and crunchy, they were overall way to salty and really detracted from the crab dip. For entrees we opted for the stuffed trout and the grouper bites. The grouper bites were fried perfectly and the succotash that it came on really brought out the flavors. I wasn't a fan of the hash but my mom loved it. Now the star of the meal was the pickled onions on my trout. Wow! Truly elevated the dish in a way I hadn't expected and sounds so basic but was a genius choice. Another standout was our server Christian who was attentive, enthusiastic, and helpful. It's so cool because he's also the voice on ESPN so go check him out!

Tucked into Auburn's dining scene with an upscale-casual pub charm, it's become our daughter's favorite spot to "take us" when we visit--which tells you everything you need to know. After a semester fueled by ramen and an alarming quantity of Chick-fil-A, she heads straight for the spicy penne crowned with perfectly cooked filet medallions. A wise choice. They don't take reservations, and yes, you may linger outside awhile on a busy night. Stay. It's worth it. For those of us with Gulf Coast roots, the menu reads like a love letter: blackened catfish done right, crispy crawfish tails, and cheese-laced grits that feel like a warm welcome home. The fried green tomatoes are a standout--golden, crisp, topped with grilled shrimp, and finished with a balsamic glaze that somehow works beautifully, even if it strays from tradition. The shrimp and grits, the catfish, the pasta--all hits. Cheesecake for dessert, especially if you're loyal to a graham cracker crust, is non-negotiable. Dim, cozy, a little whimsical (don't skip art in the hallway to the bathroom), and staffed by people who seem genuinely happy you're there. We'll be back. Often. --Chance & Becky *All Ahead Slow*
