This cute little restaurant is located in a cute neighborhood of Eugene, serving all vegan food for a great price. I came in for my first time this morning and got a lentil shepherds pie, biscuits and gravy and the strawberry shortcake. All the food was absolutely delicious and well priced! The staff is made up of volunteers and the cafe is a non profit to support lane county hunger. I was extremely impressed by the dedication and kindness of the staff, they also gave us great recommendations for what to get! This place is new and here for a great cause. I recommend sitting out on their patio space, it's beautiful and decorated so well with lots of plants and space to eat. I will definitely be back to support! read more

We experienced poor service, unfortunately. A staff member took our order and we proceeded to wait approximately 50-minutes before inquiring and learning that our order wasn't entered into their system and placed. Mind you, we sat drinking water and a cocktail directly in front of the staff member who took our order and not once did she check in or find it odd that two people were sitting around drinking for nearly an hour, clearly waiting for our order to be filled. In recognition of their error, the staff member expedited part of our initial order, as we could not wait any longer for other components of our order to be prepared. Their apology was curt and we were still charged for a drink. Not a great customer experience. read more

Wow! My tastebuds are in heaven tonight! Butter lettuce salad with "buttermilk" dill dressing and part of the porcini mushroom "bourguignon" (taking half home). I'm vegan, my partner is not, and we go here at least once a week but recently closer to twice a week; the quality of the food and service is consistently amazing. We often get take out, but prefer to eat there due to the friendly staff and the adorable patio outside. The rotating seasonal menus keep options fresh and exciting, and they offer brunch and dinner menus. If you check them out you really can't go wrong with anything but our favorites are the breakfast hash (in any season), banana pancakes, anything that has their addicting mushroom gravy, rocky road bars (when they have them), and the iced banana coffee. The atmosphere is delightful in both day-to-day dining and in the events that they host (beignet benefit and teas). The staff is beyond welcoming, the prices are affordable, and their tipping policy is refreshingly compassionate. I've also ordered a custom cake from Acorn Cafe, and the owner's' responsiveness and creativity went (as always) above and beyond. Menu rotates seasonally, which shows an investment in fresh and local ingredients. Acorn Community Cafe is a hidden gem in the Whittaker area of Eugene. They are a community space that provides free meals, and other life necessities to the unhoused people in Eugene. The space is beautiful, clean and they have a lovely patio in the back. In addition, they offer food and a place and space for paying customers to order a hearty vegan meal. I got a lentil veggie bowl which was enough food for two meals. The food was absolutely delicious, light, and crisp. They are not affiliated with any religious group, they are there to serve whomever needs the help. The volunteers working there were welcoming, knowledgeable and extremely kind. This is my favorite restaurant. All of the staff starting at the pufferfish to the chef are the most amazing people. I would also like to add how much food they provide to the community and help they provide to others. Ok and for the food... wow. Me and my partners favorite dishes starts with the vegan biscuits and mushrooms gravy, with our second favorite being the pesto pasta. There are great French cuisine twists that can make simpler sounding dishes come out as huge flavor bombs that keep you smiling. Awesome chai teas too I usually get their dirty chai.
