I have had such a bad moving experience with Atlas Van Lines, Imlach Movers, and Ace Relocation Services that I really regret using them for my move. Days after a very tiring cross-state move, the driver simply texted that delivery would occur the following morning at 8am. With less than 24-hours notice from the driver, I ended up arriving alone to a remote storage unit, where I repeatedly felt rushed and very uncomfortable with the delivery. The four-person crew quickly packed and stacked items in the darkened storage unit, despite my repeated requests to fully inspect things in daylight. Some furniture appears to have been placed without protection from scratches, dents and moisture, even directly on the concrete slab. The crew moved so quickly with so many items that I was basically reduced to just checking off their item numbers. My complaints were met with mocking and aggressive behaviors, including a threat to leave. Once, the driver forced the crew to take a break, but then the process started all over again. I now wish I'd recorded everything from the moment Atlas Van Lines, Imlach Movers, and Ace Relocation Services arrived, to have a video record of the movers' words and tone, their gestures, and the overall rushed and unfriendly experience. I expected my move would be done with delivery, but troubles and frustration continue more than two months later. The claims process been very tiring and frustrating. I have communicated with multiple representatives and their supervisors at the companies, yet my time spent on calls and emails to Atlas and Ace hasn't helped. Ace and Atlas advised filing a claim for damages but then also said they'll only accept a single, once-and-for-all claim. How could I possibly know the extent of all damages before being able to inspect everything? I still haven't seen all my possessions. When I have offered to meet at the storage unit and finally inspect everything, they have simply refused and offered no productive steps forward for inspection. It has been extremely frustrating trying to work with them. Instead of being able to get on with life, I'm having to spend time communicating with attorneys and hoping I'll eventually get fair treatment from Atlas and Ace. This isn't what I needed from my move. I seriously regret my choice of Atlas Van Lines and Ace Relocation Services and will never make that choice again. read more

Our customer manager (Gwen) was on top of the move throughout the process. The pick and delivery crews were professional, punctual, and courteous. From start to finish a great process. Note, this company is not a broker. They are an actual mover. When you utilize them they are sending out their own people, trucks, and holding your items at their warehouse as needed. We used Ace for our cross country move from Bartlett to Florida. Everything about them was top notch. In addition to moving all of our stuff, they coordinated our car transports, and also coordinated some crating and un-crating we needed for some large valuable pieces. They gave us an estimate which was spot-on to actual costs and they did a great job communicating with us every step of the way. In addition to the move, we also needed to have our belonging placed in storage for 3 months while waiting for our Florida house to be ready. Everything arrived in great order. I was moving for the first time in 25 years. Ace Relocation Systems was recommended to me. I spoke with one of their booking agents, then we conducted a virtual full house walk over the phone. He inventoried the items and contents I was asking to move. In less than an hour we had covered the full 4 bedroom house with basement. He estimated the weight and we scheduled the move. Here is the amazing thing, His estimate was within 2% of the actual weight. Thus there were no surprises on cost. Steve the driver on my job was a seasoned professional and it showed. I had a horrible experience with ACE. If at all please don't give them your business. They fail to communicate basic items such as when the drivers will be at your home. You will have to call them to keep them accountable. Also if you have to change your move in date and they can't deliver on that date they force you to pay for the additional storage. They make it your problem not theirs. They stated that it's their busy season and can't guarantee your date. That is fine but you shouldnt charge your customer for additional storage since they don't have the capacity to support their customer Please avoid this company. read more

The move went very smoothly, the guys worked really hard all day long and went above and beyond to ensure that everything was in the right place. However, I did not anticipate the estimate being off by 2 hours and $500! That was a bit of a shock. Also, one of the guys was having a big problem keeping his mask on. We boxed most of the small things, and they took care of the bulkier items. Everything was packed and loaded within 2 hours. The speed and efficiency was nothing I've seen before with any of my moving experiences. The unloading process was the exact same. They gave me a list of boxes and shouted out numbers as they unloaded. Nothing was missing according to the list. Damage was extremely minimal, with damage to just a hand crafted sign, that's pretty impressive for a move this size. Ace relocation had the most competitive quote so we went with them. Moving from Chicago to California is not cheap! Not to mention, Kurt who put our quote together, was really nice and worked with us on getting the quote to be a number we could work with. Although having Ace pack everything was around $1500, we decided to do it ourselves to save money and I think next time we would just have them take care of everything. Buying boxes and bubble wrap is expensive! If you can afford it, have them do it! Everything went smoothly on move-out day. The guys seemed to take care of our things and worked quickly. Like many people, our things arrived on the last quoted day in the window but they still made it within the time frame. When our stuff arrived, that was when things went downhill. The driver of the truck claimed he couldn't make it up to our apartment with the truck, which is up a small hill but has plenty of room to park about 50 feet from our apartment (about the same distance as on a street where a house is located back on a lot). In fact our landlord said trucks make it up here all the time. We put up a fight about it but the driver did not budge and alas, we were charged $815 more for them to get a shuttle truck. A ridiculous amount of money for a U-Haul truck. Additionally, the movers lost the hardware to our crib so we had to buy a pack-n-play for him to sleep in until it was fixed by a 3rd party, they lost a baby gate so we had to buy another one in the meantime so our child didn't fall down the stairs, they scratched our 42" TV and cracked our child's hutch cabinet. We have filed a claim so hopefully we will receive some compensation without trouble. Update: Over a month after our stuff arrived - no compensation for the baby gate yet (and they don't respond to emails). Some 3rd party has come to fix the furniture but have not completed the job yet. Very frustrating. read more

I used Ace Relocation in 2020 and had a wonderful experience start to finish. I decided to use them in 2022 when we moved, three floors down in the same building. The experience was just as I remembered until the movers arrived on March 11th. The move was haphazard and careless as the lead was alone with two newbies. The other experienced mover showed up late. As a result, an item was damaged, and one was lost. Heather Thompson, our move coordinator, followed-up on March 14th and, after advised of our loss, sent a claim link with an assigned number. The claim was successfully submitted March 17th indicating, '...hear back in 10-15 business days.' On April 16th, I emailed claims@acerelocation.com and received no response. On April 23rd I followed up with our move coordinator, Heather, and she said, "I have reached out to the claims team to ask them to contact you with any updates they have for you." No response. May 3rd sent email to Heather indicating the claim form had been signed. June 6th reached out to Heather requesting status of the check. Response, "I'll look into this and let you know". No follow-up. June 22nd another email with the response, "I can continue to reach our claims team for an update. I apologize for the delay." It is now July 11th. No check and no response. I'm disappointed to have spent the money on FVP (Full Value Protection) with such dismal results. Would I trust Ace Relocation with my next move? Highly unlikely. read more

I would like to give them zero stars but Yelp won't let me. We contracted with them for a local move and thought we were good. About a week before our move day we called to find out what time they were coming. It was then and only then we found out they passed us off to a very small delivery company that was unable to get half our items in their truck so they didn't even try to move us. Here is a list of reasons why we went with Ace, and why we were happy that we did. 1. We had 5 quotes total. Kurt was so friendly and knowledgeable. He wasn't a pushy salesman. He explained everything thoroughly--how everything would be packed, what to expect on moving day, etc... 2. Ace Relocation Systems came recommended by New City Moving (New City is FABULOUS, but they don't do international moves) so I contacted them. I called them twice, asking to speak with somebody who could answer my questions and set up a time to view my apartment. I was told that Amy would call me but I didn't hear from anybody. I phoned back a third time, and asked to speak with a manager. David, the general manager, was apologetic, and walked me through a telephone assessment of my move, priced the move and sent me a contract. I did not want to commit to a contract until somebody had actually come into my apartment for a physical assessment of my belongings, so we scheduled something for 2 weeks from the date of our conversation. Fast forward to the day I was expecting a visit at 11am from the same Amy I was initially looking to speak with. Nobody showed up. I phoned the firm, and spoke to the ever elusive Amy, who told me that there was nothing in the system about my move...! I gave her my pick up date, and sure enough, they couldn't accommodate me. At that point, I decided that Ace Relocation Systems was definitely NOT going to get my business - they lack professionalism and commitment. Royal Scammers! I was referred to this company by Graebel Van Lines and thought they would be good. Brent Garrison was our sales person. He seemed like a very nice decent guy, but don't be fooled by his kindness. He also attended the university of Scammers! We moved from Elgin to Marietta, Georgia, and Brent sold me on the fact that I would have one driver and one truck driving my belongings to Marietta. What actually happened on my move date was I had Anthony, a driver, load my truck, saying he would not be my driver to GA. I was surprised by this, but he promised all of my things would arrive in pristine order since I had bought all new boxes and was very organized. So I said OK. and signed all of their hard to read paperwork. He said he was loading the truck for his friend Don who would be driving the truck to GA. What they never told me was that they would be loading all my things onto another truck! As a result most of our furniture was damaged! I never gave permission to load my stuff onto another truck nor did I give them permission to open up my boxes, so they could make room on the load. Ace Relocation is a part of Atlas Van Lines and have a large corporate office with many employees. So then the shell game begins. No one can answer any questions, until you file a claim. You only get one claim and the claims process takes at least 8 or more hours to file. Along the way you have to agree to things otherwise your claim won't even go through. Customer service is ZERO. Every employee attended the University of Scammers. Horrible companies. Believe what others say about Ace Relocation and Atlas Van lines. Do not use these movers! Ace Relocation and Atlas Van lines should be investigated by the Federal government. They take advantage of their customers by asking them to pay more than quoted, they have a nightmare claims process and take zero responsibility for anything. Do not be fooled by the sales team. You will regret using them for the rest of your life! I moved on 4/15/16 and today is 5/31 still have not got answers or help. Have been given 4 or more direct people that are supposed to help me. Their claim department is extremely large because they have so many claims! Ace Relocation and Atlas Van Lines, actually the same company, enjoy wrecking peoples lives. I have never seen a company so good at scamming their customers like Ace Relocation/Atlas Van Lines. Truly the worst experience of my 53 years of life. Hired them for a long distance move that had a lot of moving parts and logistics - including a stop at storage, cross country drive, weekend to keep ourstuff, and then meeting my wife at the new house. They were one of the few companies that were able to keep our stuff in their truck for a few days, and everything was on time like clockwork. Their office folks were very organized, and they kept us in good communication on both ends. They packed us and moved us, and there were a couple things with some scuffs, but that's well within the margin of error. They packed everything very, very thoroughly. And that might be part of the root of my on complaint - they initially charged us 30% more than originally quoted b/c it took so much more packing material. I received quotes from four companies. One guy was expensive. One was cheap. Ace and another were tied in the middle, with Ace being just a little less. They said that we had more stuff than expected and it took more packing material, but all the stuff was there to assess (we even sold one of our two large TVs). The estimator just did a poor job. After making several phone calls though, they made it right and took some off of our bill. Even if they hadn't, I would have still given them four stars (though possibly not hired them again), but as they handled it, I'll give them five and hire them when we move from this place. read more

Ace was just ok - all of our items arrived within the specified time frame and most were undamaged. We got quotes from several companies and Ace had the best reviews of all the companies who provided prices within our target price range. Note that Ace is an Atlas agent - so your belongings will be shipped through the Atlas truck network and subject to their timing decisions. Like others have mentioned, we also appreciated that there would be no extra charges for mattress boxes, furniture blankets, etc. We also really appreciated that our quote included zero-deductible insurance for the REPLACEMENT COST of any damaged goods (note that most companies provide a dollar amount per pound insurance - so if a $500 camera that weighs 5lbs is destroyed, you'll get just a couple of dollars from an insurance claim because of the low weight, whereas if a $10 umbrella base that weighs 30lbs is destroyed, you'll get much more from an insurance claim) When we first met with Kurt, he provided us with an estimated 10 or 11 day delivery window (pickup on Thursday or Friday and delivery by a week from Monday), and said that (1) he would try to shorten this window for us if possible and (2) he would know within a couple of days BEFORE our items were picked up what the truck schedule would be like and when our items would be delivered. We spoke with Kurt and Debbie nearly daily for the week or so before our pickup date but, beyond telling us that the driver hadn't finalized his pickup and delivery schedule yet and they couldn't guarantee a shorter time frame, we were able to get NO information about our delivery timing. The day our items were picked up (a Friday) we were still unable to get any information about our delivery date, other than that it "probably wouldn't be before Tuesday." This was problematic for us as we were moving cross-country and were going to drive our car and some valuables from one home to the other; if our belongings were going to arrive quickly, we would do the drive in 2 days with no detours, but if it was going to take a while, we were going to stop and visit family along the way. Plus, we had to provide advance notice for elevator reservation to the building where we were moving in. As we couldn't get any more information from Kurt, Debbie, Marcia (at Atlas) or the driver, we drove straight through in 2 days (in case our stuff was getting there Tuesday). The whole time, we remained in contact with the Ace/Atlas team and were never able to get any information other than that delivery wouldn't be within the next day or two. Finally, on about Wednesday or Thursday, we learned that delivery would be on Monday - the VERY end of the delivery window. *sigh* Our items were delivered on Monday morning; coffee talbe was scratched, couch legs were chipped, and headboard was dropped on its face, dropped again and "repaired" with wood chips, wood glue and longer screws (as the screws pulled out from the headboard support). We filed a claim immediately and Atlas scheduled a local woodworker to come look at the items; he concluded only the coffee table was worth the cost of repairing, so Atlas paid us for new couch legs and a new headboard and paid the woodworker to resurface the coffee table (which looks amazing, BTW!). The claims process went was very smooth and relatively quick, but of course we hoped not to end up in a claims process! Altogether, it wasn't a terrible experience - and again, ALL of our items made it to our new home, which I understand is more than can be said for some moving companies. I would have given 1 star if our loading crew and driver hadn't been fantastic. We met with three moving companies, and although they weren't the cheapest, our initial meeting with Brent was the most positive and informative of the three. Overall though, I felt like we were given a lot of misinformation (availability of free boxes, how the transport would work, when we would receive updates) that contributed to a lot of unnecessary frustration and angst. We found out the day of our move that our stuff would be sitting in town for 6 days before leaving for our destination and then it would be delivered a total of 11 days after pickup. Although we knew this was a worst case scenario, we were repeatedly told it wouldn't be a reality and it probably would have been better not to know. There were also never free boxes available and we had to repeatedly ask for updates as none were ever provided. Finally, they claim everyone works for Ace but that is clearly untrue as spoken by the loading and unloading crew that they just go where the work is for whoever has work available. This provides a lot of inconsistency with the level of quality you receive and I believe this is the reason we now have a bookshelf with no shelves. When I contacted ACE they never got back to me and now I'm sure they're long gone. It seemed like the only person who actually knew what was going on was our driver, so in future I would have preferred to be able to just communicate with him. Since there are so many alternatives to Ace, I would not use them again. read more
