CALL JOE! Thank you JOE COUTURE.....you achieved a Mission Impossible! The October 5 Hail Storm hit me very hard and for months I've been involved in a tough battle with my Insurance Company attempting to get a new Heat Pump Unit installed before the start of the hot Summer months. It didn't happen. First they "gave" me $150 to have the Coil cleaned, along with a comment that many of the Valley's Companies were simply using this as a method to sell their A/C's. Then I called Ace Air & Joe Couture. He came, took a look, and then after seeing the condition that it was in he cited that I needed a new Unit. Among other things he noted that it was an older Unit and that new Coils were no longer available. I sent this back to the Insurance Company. They responded by sending a new Adjuster to re-inspect it. He made it clear that he didn't think that I needed a new Unit....he said that all I needed was a new Coil. This despite my telling him that the last time that I had used mine that it had woke me up in the middle of the night making a terrible noise, and shaking so hard that it made the whole house shake. I was so afraid of a Fire that I had immediately jumped up & turned it off, and that I had never turned it back on again. I also noted that within the 4 to 5 hour span of operation that it was on, that the new filter that I had just installed had turned very blackish. I showed that filter to him. Disagreeing again I asked him why my ducts and house were all full of "black stuff" since the Hail Storm. He came in, looked, and video taped the "black stuff" in the vents as well as the 2 ruined Computers, etc. ....but he never answered my question. He said that he would be back in touch. In a couple of days I received an upbeat answering machine message from him to the effect that he had actually been able to locate a new coil for me, and that I would be receiving a check for the new Coil right away, but that the "dust" damage wasn't covered by my Policy. This upset me so much that I left a long message to him on his answering machine....and I never heard from him again. But this seemed to shock my brain into action, and all of a sudden the light bulb went on. The black gooey stuff was actually the toxic asphalt that had been swept from the asphalt shingles and into my house during the Hail Storm. And this explained why I had been sick in bed for most of the time since the Storm. I called Joe and updated him on what had transpired since the last time we had talked. He said, "Let me take care of it." And he did! Friday July 29 my New Unit AND New Ductwork were installed! Paid for by the Insurance Company, and I have really been soaking up the cool air for the first time this year. And Friday night I went to bed early, and slept peacefully for 12 straight hours. I woke up refreshed, happy, and ready to go for the first time in almost a year. THANK YOU JOE! P.S. I was advised that most of the post on the dreaded BBB don't get shared...So, I did the research and found Yelp was good about putting my thoughts being shared w/ the public. So lets give it a shot! It's now 8:34 pm June 27th 2012and I called Ace Air out to help me w/ my 95 degree house. The night prior my son heard a screaming noise on our roof, later that day it became overly hot to where it's unbearable! And just to clarify, my name is Helen Burbank and I just moved here from Battle Creek, MI. I now live way out in Litchfeild Park and know absolutely no one in the metro area. I'm disabled and felt like I'm abandoned. W/O any friends or relatives I hoped for the best. After calling I was worried about additional charges w/ it being soo late, I had little to worry about cause the lady (I forget her name) told me "no problem we'll come out for free"...cut to 815 pm a tech by the name of Sky came out. Not only did he have the confidence to fix my unit but gave me all my options. Anything from replacement to replacement of parts. I really found him personal and comforting especially after I had told him my fears of price and dependability for the future of this old AC. Sky said "Let me try everything I can do within my reach for you" Replacement of parts inc Cap Double, Fan Motor, Contracter(sp), Coil Cleaner or cleaning was what was needed to do it properly. Minimum work would be cap double cuz it was obviously broken w/ fluid everywhere, fan motor cuz the middle post was frozen and wouldn't spin, or removal of this thing w/ a 10 year warranty...I told him (Sky) my credit is futile to run and that there is no way anyone would lend me money. He said " Let's be positive about this and the worst case scenario would be that they tell us NO!" So not only did take the time w/ the damn mono tone bank recorder guy but he also got me approved after getting transferred twice to actual human beings..I couldn't believe I got approved for almost 5k!...Now my options were within grasp! Long story short if still feasible lol, I felt like Ace and Sky went the extra mile for a disabled single mother that has no one to rely on, they came through for me at wee hours of the night w/ the full intention of doing this for free....Not all bad. Sky did a great job, and I'm am very very very happy and it's good to know people care about people out here in AZ.. read more

So...I live with The Malones at 545 N Yucca in Mesa. I am here to help out. We needed air conditioning work and they had always used 24/7 so I called and it ended up being Ace. Fine with me. Everyone was efficient and within a few hours Ryan called to discuss our issues. We were expecting him between 8-11am but he was way west Phoenix. As we talked he diagnosed most of the issue by phone and then politely and professionally asked if he could catch us as his last call of the day because he lived in our direction. Because he was so polite and professional I agreed. It was actually a fun, jovial conversation. He showed up as expected and we spent some time diagnosing and discussing the issues. Ryan is an amazing salesmen but if you ask him he will probably say I hammered him for every dollar. He was tolerant, agreeable at times but I could tell he was still trying to make good money for your company which I get! Never once did we feel swindled, lied to our taken advantage of. But he secured a fair price. He showed up first thing the next morning and went right to work. He was here a few hours, explained all he had done and that other workers would be back the next day to finish. They were and although I did not catch their names after a brief conversation with one of them i realized they had gone above and beyond so I tipped them which at first they refused until I insisted. Another great sign. So far we think the issues were resolved very well but air conditioning is fluid and conditional so we continue to adjust and see what works best. However, we are satified and extremely impressed with Ryan and everyone we came in contact with. I actually called to speak withe the GM or owner and ended up speaking with Becky the OM, who was also very professional. I have a practical marketing degree.... and I explained to Becky that I believed you could target the Gay community of the entire valley vis Echomag.com...many gay people use this when they need services. They have high disposable income but demand professionalism and efficiency. Word of mouth in this demographic is huge. My ac went out over Memorial weekend. 2 yrs prior I had my ac serviced by sun devil heating and cooling who at the time did a decent job replacing the compressor. I tried to find their phone but couldn't find I. I instead called warlcock. They came out and tried to tell me I needed a new system. $4500 to replace because that ac was shot. The owner took pics with his celland said I had no power. Duh. The breaker was tripped. So it was off that he didn't check. He told me the lst company to service made a mess of the wiring and that it was illegaly done. I sent him on his way. Determined to find sun devl number which I did findi called and they sent a tech out memorial day. They told methe compressor was done and the wire on the compressor were melted. They said the could fix for $2400. Furious I said they fixed 2 yrs before for 1100.a mark up of 130%. He could not explain to me except that freon was $65 and I needed 10 lbs, blah blah blah. He said that there would be able to beat them ad invited me to look for someone. I went to servcemagic.com and I received a call frrom KJ. I told him I need a new compressor and he requested the serial # and model of my home unit. He quoted me $1065 with 2 yrs warranty just to begin. He said if I needed a new unit within 2 yrs that they would credit the amount toward a new unit in the future. I scheduled a tech to come out. Enter a good honest tech in Mike. KJ called me prior to Mike he let me know how long the job could take and that he personally put the compressor in the techs vehicle and when the time of arrival. When he arrived, he got started right away. I noticed after less than 20 my air was on and he was inside taking readings. As I notced my home getting cooler, I followed him outside and he pointed out a burn mark on the outsde of the ac panel. He said that he saw this and he knew that I had a short. When he opened it up he saw 2 wire spliced come apart. He put them together andthe ac and the compressor work fine. He serviced the ac and left. But not before telling me that they would not charge for the compressor that they did not have to replace. On a late Saturday afternoon with temperatures over 110, the AC started blowing hot air. We called at least two AC companies, one being Ace and waited for the first one able to respond. It turned out to be Ace who arrived about 1.5 hours after we called. The technician was Sky who quickly diagnosed the problem as a broken fan motor. The unit was over twelve years old and had very little maintenance done to it. In other words, we had next to nothing invested in it except for the initial cost. Sky explained our options in language we could understand. We had the choice to fix it or get an entire new AC. There was no hard sell. To make a costly decision like this under duress is not easy. To our surprise, Sky offered to put in the new fan motor on the spot to get the cool air going and allow us to think about a new AC for at least another day. If we decided on the new AC, he would remove the fan and not charge us for it. We couldn't ask for anything more than that. Sky also recommended a kick-starter for our unit to further increase its life if we went with just the motor replacement. He didn't have that part on the truck; he put the new motor in and said he would return later to replace the kick-starter if we didn't want a new unit. We later decided against the new AC; Sky was fine with that. Again, no hard sell for the new AC. He returned on Monday with the kick-starter. Upon further inspection, he thought a new condenser would also help extend life. He gave us a great discount on the condenser which really helped. He clearly explained that the unit had a maximum amps pull and showed me the amps readings with the old parts and then with the new parts. It was obvious the new parts made a big difference in the readings. By the way, before installing the new parts Sky said if they didn't make a difference, he would remove them and not charge us. We were extremely pleased with Sky's quick response, clear explanations and willingness to work with us regardless of whatever decision we made. read more

ACE is one of the ONLY honest, professional, respectful and reasonably priced A/C companies I have stumbled across, ever. After enduring almost six weeks of air conditioning issues with our nearly two year old new Amana unit, we had three companies out including 'Cowboy Cooling & Heating' owner Steve Beckman and tech, Michael who spilled 'refrigerant' all over the colored concrete which ate the expensive finish when he replaced 'refrigerant' @ $120.00 per unit (I needed 8?) and a broken part that caused the leak and never replied to additional texts and VM afterwards when unit failed again on a Saturday evening; 1st company out and eight visits during this time. Day & Night, Jeff Martin / owner, was next with Hector the tech who was at the house for 1/2 hour and charged $89.00 and advised 'blower motor and possibly harness' needed replacing. Alan, lead tech in-house called to advise that for $409.86, $125.00 for parts 'delivery' which means the tech picks up at the distributor, and $50 for 'paperwork' and that is in addition to $276.00 so I pay 'warranty pricing', for a part that already has a ten year warranty from Amana.... Um, NO!!! Last and finally, the awesome professional intelligent individual from ACE. Guess what? $79.00 for the 'service visit' AND was advised the 'blower motor, harness and possible circuit board' were not in need of replacement. Also, suggestion from Cowboy company of larger and additional ductwork and return in the master bedroom for $550, and $350.00 = $900.00, also not required for optimal use of the 5 ton, 16 seer unit. Crazy, right??? With temperatures of 110-118 during this time the house was 82-93 inside with nighttime being the worst. We had excellent service from ACE! In July 2012, our 5-year, 3-month old, 5-ton air handler had failed overnight. This happened a few weeks after we had just gotten the condenser unit repaired by a different company. We called ACE since they had installed the air handler. ACE came out that morning to diagnosis the trouble--a bad blower motor/ECM module combo. Background info: I had bought the variable speed air handler from ACE five years ago. They did a superb job in installing it in the small attic crawl space, redoing some duct work, and turning the new unit 180 degrees from the original one they replaced that had been sending the cooled air through the main supply duct starting with a full 180 degree turn! That change made a big difference in efficiency. I specifically bought a 10-year parts warranty from ACE for the new air handler even though Trane only offered a Trane parts warranty for 10 years if both the inside and outside units were bought together. I had only bought the inside unit. Thus, ACE was essentially carrying the parts warranty after the first five years. The service manager, when emailed a copy of the contract by their tech when he was on-site, immediately agreed to pay for the $1,800.00+ (retail price) combo-part. Later that same day, a different tech came out with the part and installed it. He showed me how the shaft in the failed motor would barely turn due to a failed bearing. I only paid ACE for the services. My wife and I are VERY happy about how fast (same day!) ACE got us cooled after I called them that morning, and that there was no hassle over the part's warranty. The techs were very pleasant and knowledgeable as well. ACE stood by their warranty and got us fixed up on the day we called them. They handled our situation in a very reputable manner and I highly recommend them. read more

Very dishonest company! I called them for an appointment to fix my unit that was blowing hot air and they came out for a second opinion for me. I told them I wanted a second opinion on a diagnosis of a blown compressor from a previous company. The technician (No doubt a sales guy) said he would go check it out and I watched him through a window he made a phone call and barely checked anything and came back inside and told me yup its a bad compressor and I needed a new unit so at this point I believed it was probably a bad compressor. I told him to leave me a quote on a unit and I needed to get at least one more quote before purchasing a new unit, he got annoyed and tried to get me to buy a Bryant (Off brand of Carrier) for 8,250, I told him I will get back to him after my next quote. I paid him the diagnostic fee and he left, I called another company thinking I was just going to get one more quote and make a decision quickly because my house was now 90 degrees and rising. This technician showed up I told him I wanted a quote for a new unit and told him what the previous 2 diagnosis were from the previous companies and he told me he wanted to check it out for himself. I agreed and boy am I glad he checked himself it was a bad capacitor that goes to the compressor... the capacitor was 240 dollars! The honest tech saved me 7-8,000 dollars! I tipped the tech 20 dollars for being so honest and they will have my business for as long as I live. Shame on ACE trying to rip off consumers! I get mistakes happen but the honest tech told me any tech should have seen it was a bad capacitor and bigger companies pay there guys commission so they are crooks!!!!!!! So mad I want my money back. I should have read yelp reviews a few weeks ago before calling 2 big companies trying to scam consumers! read more

I was having issues with my central AC. During this hear wave I figured it would be extremely hard to get someone out immediately. I used Ace air on my father's house after he was ripped off by another HVAC contractor so I gave them a call. The girl who took all my information was polite and to the point. She stated that they were really swamped and they may not get to me until the next day, I agreed not having much choice. To my surprise I was contacted in the afternoon and advised a tech was on the way to my home. The tech arrived and introduced himself, Robert then went right to work he was able to get the unit running however his readings suggested that the unit was on its last leg. I have a strong electrical and mechanical background and I was present when he took all the readings. The current draw to the compressor was at the high end of the scale. The two units I have are 10 years old and we're not name brand. So after much discussion with Robert I determined that it would be in my best interests to replace both units. We conferenced with His supervisor Rick and negotiated a price which I thought was far. They are installing 2 Carrier units with new furnaces tomorrow. Robert or Rick made no attempt to oversell in fact Robert said most people usually replace them 1 at a time but I figured that if one is bad and failing how far behind is the other one so I determined to just replace both. They gave me a bunch of incentives Ives and even gave me a preventatives me a preventative maintenance agreement on the units. Robert said they have some proprietary installation practices and I will be more than impressed with the instal. read more

I want to give out an AWARD WINNING review to the one, AND ONLY, Stuart Myers! Stuart has been our AC guy for over 2 years. He is honest, reliable, trustworthy, knowledgable and a friend. There has been countless times Stuart has came out to our home to look at our AC unit and fix it on the spot. Yes, he has a family just like most of us do and for him to take the time away to help out our family, the community, is amazing! Stuart knows what it's like to be in the shoes of others. This is why I can personally say he is one of a kind. He isn't the "get one over on ya" type of guy, he literally cares about your situation and wants to make it better. I yearly get a tune up for my a/c depending on who ever has the best price since my unit is new and I need it for my warranty. Mostly use Ace cause they have a yearly deal of $29 for a tune-up. I was pleasantly surprised when a young man by the of Sam came, he did such a wonderful job that I have to tell you about him. After he checked out my unit he went into the attic where I knew of a problem with the flex tubing that I believe was caused by a person from a home energy company that came in to inspect my house for causes that may make a difference if repaired. Well I beleive he ripped the flex tube so he could collect for repairs, He told me that was the only way of repairing it would be to replace and cost $300. I didn't have a good feeling about him so I called the sponsor of the Energy Star program where I got my recommendation and let them know that I had a new unit, new flexing and I doubt it had any problems until he went up there so the next thing I get a letter from them saying we love to come and repair it for free. After that I wouldn't let them in my home and actually forgot about the rip, well until I have to have someone go up into the attic and then it all comes back. Sam said he would take care of it with a metallic tape. And he also was looking at the cost of shooting foam for my attic and came gave me the prices to have it done. He went above and beyond. My husband and I are so thrilled with ACE home services. Our AC went out last Monday. An AC company came out on TUE and told me it needed to be replaced. We can't afford a new system, I used ACE in 2012 for service and I called them on Tuesday afternoon. They came out Wednesday morning, confirmed my 17 y/o unit could not be fixed and helped me get financing for a new unit! My application was rushed through and they were at my house at 8am on Friday to install the unit. The two gentlemen that came out (Francisco and Matt, I think) were friendly, courteous, efficient, clean and went to work hard. They had it up and running within 6 hours and cleaned up everything afterwards. They waited for a couple hours until the house was completely cooled to ensure everything was on target. It was a holiday weekend and they wanted to make sure we would be in good shape. They called on TUE to schedule a f/u service to double check everything and came out at our convenience and on time. I am so grateful for how they worked really fast to ensure that we could get AC as soon as possible, even helping to hurry along with the finance approval. I got approved at 345p on THUR and they set us up for first thing Friday morning. I don't know of any company that works that fast. They have truly earned us as life long customers. It is rare to do business with a company and have a great experience with every single person you come in contact with, but so far, my experience with ACE AIR has been Incredible! I first called Ace for a hail damage inspection. Patrick Corradino came to my home did an inspection, talked with my insurance company, and wrote up an estimate in a very professional and timely manner. After looking at a few other companies, I decided to go with Ace. Because I am very busy I could only make the call on Sunday, but even though Patrick was off he responded on a weekend to get the paperwork completed so we could get an asap install date. Just when I thought this experience couldn't get any better, the installers came with my new air conditioner. Jason Bullock and Robert Lacava were on time, professional, kinda and concerned about how I was doing in the heat when they were the ones working in a 150 degree attic! The kept me posted the entire time and were actually on schedule! They didn't leave a mess for me to clean up, and when my young son asked questions about what they were doing they were kind enough to explain the process to him. I was very impressed at the way they talked about their company and they seemed proud to work for them. Their salesman Itay is great. Seems pretty honest and this company pretty much cost the same as the other big companies. However, after my two new A/C units were installed I came home from my neighbors house as I waited for them to pack up and leave. Prior to me going to my neighbors I asked one of the crew if they needed us for anything or had any questions, he stated no they were done and would be gone in about five minutes. When I came back home I found two broken brand new (two day old) solar lights next to my driveway broken from where they had placed my two old units. There were a couple of dark grease stains on my carpet from my dirty old equipment, my daughters bedroom door was still off the hinges laying on the floor and several deep scratches on her wall from inserting the new uints into the crawl space. All of these things are maybe expected but it would have been nice to have been told prior to the crew leaving that these things had happened and if my house wasnt brand new with new carpet and paint a month prior to installation. Called Itay and he stated that a supervisor would call me and maybe give me a gift certificate for the trouble but still havent heard anything. But the air conditioners work great and my house is cooler. Would recommend them as long as they take better care of your house. read more

Ace Home Services & their plumbing technician Brett are AMAZING!!! When we found our water heater leaking in the garage on the night of 11/3/14, I wrote down contact info for 3 locally-recognized companies. It was Brett at Ace who called us back (despite the late hour). He was pleasant, informative & gave us ballpark amounts on water heater replacements. The next morning, I called one of the other companies and after going through way too many automated prompts, I reached the office & was told there would be a fee to come out & give us an estimate. The third company sent a technician over, gave us quotes & said it would take several days before we could get the water heater. When I talked to Brett the prior evening, I felt a sense of trust, that he really cared about fixing our problem and that he would follow-through. So I phoned Ace back. Brett came over at the exact time he said he would (and even gave us a call ahead of time so we wouldn't have to sit around waiting), he worked his tail off to get the water heater in & working, was professional, knowledgeable, cleaned up the work area, gave us his card & said to call him 24/7 if we had any problems. Because Brett did everything he said he would, I will gladly recommend him to family, friends & residents in our 140 home gated community! read more

I'm never gonna use that company that I tried first time that I needed help with my heater they changed me 135 $ tolled me that it was a bad thermostat so just replace it with a new one or pay us 500 $ for the thermostat and you wird the one that you bought another new thermostat and wired it just like the repairman said !!- it didn't work so I called the company again and this time the owner said that all I needed to do was just falllow the direction that the repairman told me to do it and if I wanted them to do it he would give me a 200 discount !! so I asked him how much he was going to charge me to install the new thermostat and wired it for me and he would charge me 500 for the installation of the thermostat and 100 $ labor !!! when I asked him about the 200 discount and the 135 ,,$ service called he said that he had deducted it from his bid to replace the new thermostat that I bought 38 $ ,And I was so mad that I told him to shove it where the sun don't shine !!! you did everything right and only charged me 55 $ for the service Call and nothing for the advice on how to fix it is something that you have made a lifetime customer out of me !!!! thank you for all your help and support and I hope you have a great Xmas and a very happy new f !° Jeffery B Alexander !!!!!!! read more

Rae Of Sunshine The day after Christmas i was having plumbing issues in our master bedroom. I wasn't sure who i was going to get to come look at it. I got on internet and found Ace Home Service. I called them and a young lady was very polite from start to finish. She said we could have a tech out between 3:00-7:00 and that they would give you a 30-45 minute call before getting to your house. I said that would be fine and that I would take the appointment. Before 3:00 I got a call from Adrian telling me he is on his way. When i answered the phone he was so nice. When he got at my residence he got out of the truck with a smile and a handshake introducing himself. He came in to look at the situation and was able to take care of our issue. Adrian was very professional and yet very personal. We were able to ask him other things that we are wanting to do and he was able to answer them for us. I know now that Ace Home Services with be taking care of our plumbing issues. I will be asking for my tech Adrian of course. I have one thing I would like to say. We are in our seventies and it is such a pleasure to have a service that is polite from the beginning to the end and that is what Ace Home Service and Adrian was to us. My neighbor a few years ago told me about ACE Home Services after he needed his A/C unit replaced. Unfortunately, a few months later mine went bad. I called ACE and they came out and handled everything very professionally. Everything has been working great and they have kept in touch occasionally asking if I would like it inspected. Decided to have it done yesterday. Emmanuel Tech#528 came out on time and checked everything out. He did not have a problem with me watching the work he performed which made me comfortable with the quality of work he was doing. Afterwards we sat down and discussed how he and I felt the unit was doing (everything was fine). We then discussed different products that were available from ACE that may be of interest to me for my house including plumbing services which I did not know they even did. Emmanuel did not overstay his welcome and was not "pushy" in trying to sell me "something". He showed me the benefits and left it to me to make a decision. I took the information and am currently discussing it with my wife.
