tried to return an ACE branded product today that I purchased at this store. It was over 30 days, so the cashier(who was nice), had a manager come over. He didn't even look at me or the product. Just told her not refund. As I was walking out he gave me a look that wasn't pleasant. I always shop here as opposed to the big box stores to support individually owned business. My return was small, but none of my future purchases will be at this ACE store. I'll either go to a different ACE or to HomeDepot/Lowes. Very Disappointing! read more

Ace is the place! I needed a mailbox key made, and they had it! Lowe's didn't carry it, and I'm not sure if Home Depot does either, but I'm so glad Ace is still around and hasn't been pushed out by the big chains. The service was quick and super friendly! read more

Came in to quickly buy Yeti water bottle when I was greeted by a man saying "anything I can help you with" and before I could even point to the Yeti section in the front, he said that "well we close in 15 minutes" in a irritated tone of voice. It was the strangest interaction I've ever had as a consumer and not the normal "Ace friendly" smile i get at other locations. They had the water bottle I needed but I was so taken aback by the interaction I just looked quickly and walked out. I think Ace has a very clear opportunity as a company to reinvent themselves. They have done a good job with carrying quality products and having a really good staff that is ready and willing to help you out. However, how do you get consumers to come to Ace for something other than grills and replacement keys. If you continue to expand on your brand, listen to the consumer, and connect them with products they REALLY want, that is going to be what sets you apart from the competition. For this particular Ace, it is super convenient for me, they carry the products I want/need, and the staff is always extremely helpful. I will definitely be back. read more

This ACE Mgr/owner or whomever he is refuses to return anything here so be careful. I purchased $220 in Christmas lights. I had purchased a small pack of $3.99 replacement tree bulbs and a small pack of 4 blue bulbs for 99 cents!. I bought the wrong size. Today, I took them back and asked to EXCHANGE them for another large reel of lights. (I would have owed more as my refund would be under $5). An older male jumps in over the poor kid cashier who was going to do it and says 'we don't return any Christmas lights after the 18th! I HAD SIGNS UP ALL OVER THERE'. I was really taken back by how he talked to me like I was stupid I didn't see the signs. It was his tone.. If I did, I would have passed in the initial purchase. What if they didn't work? He was saying something to the poor kid who was cashier's about my stupidity after I walked out the door. There is something wrong if managers or owners speak to customers in this way right off the bat. I was really upset but just left. I spent a LOT of money here 2 week ago and am in shock that he wouldn't exchange 2 small packs of replacements under $5 for a reel of lights. I'm so upset over his treatment that my family will never walk in this store again. Its sad because it was a neighborhood store. I'll head down to Big Tool Box. This is a tiny location that's kind of stuck in the corner of a strip mall, but it's super handy because it's close by my house. The people there are always friendly and helpful, and it's usually not very busy so it's easy to get in and out quick. Best of all, they carry Traeger pellets for smokers, and have a deal where if you buy 3 you get them for $15 each. So I'm there a lot over the summer! read more

Bring in lifetime warranty Craftsmen ratchet that failed. Won't exchange it because it is an old serial number, serial number must match. They tell me go to Lowes. If I could give zero stars I would. This location is a nightmare! The people are rude and unhelpful. Yesterday they asked us were we found the item which was in their store and we hadnt found the item we needed to find it cause the one we had was broken and needing to be replaced and they wouldn't help. Today the girl at the front was so rude she told us they had no grill mats but then the guy working the back said they did - the girl in the front was just to lazy to help. Had a small problem that I needed batteries for the remote on the Christmas Tree, tried both Home Depot and Lowe's, they couldn't care less and couldn't even give me an alternative battery number. Went to Ace and they were fabulous. Dealt with Jacob as well as Brad and even Devin the Manager. A great team who were very customer focused and even fixed a short which I wasn't aware of. Throughout they were very patient and helpful and went above and beyond to fix the problem. Would certainly recommend them, it was like going back in time where customer service meant something. So I'm not sure about other stores but the Ace has top notch customer service and they went above and beyond. They treat you like your the only customer inn the store and have fun in doing so. I visited this Ace Hardware and bought a garden cart that I had ordered online, a 6-foot stepladder, and a level to help me hang pictures. The woman who helped me showed me several options for the stepladder and the level. She carried everything out to my car and loaded it for me. She was pleasant and cheerful. I paid less for the stepladder than I would have at Lowe's even with their 5% discount--I checked the prices. I would definitely return to this store to buy hardware. read more

I had purchased an item at another Ace Hardware on the other side of the state, we ended up not using it and went to return it to our neighborhood Ace which is this Saddle Rock location, at which point we were told they would not do returns from other locations. At this point I asked to speak to a manager because no signs were posted nor was there any info stating that on the receipt. When the Manager approached and I explained my frustration he told me that I should have know that Ace stores were independently owned and that why would they want to return the item. I pointed out the lack of signage and notifications to the policy and he reiterated the fact that I should have known. I reached out to their corporate customer care line which kept in contact with me and said the manager would be reaching out to me to resolve, well that manager never did reach out and finally when the corporate team reached back out to him, he told them that they would not reach out to me to try and resolve. The only thing that the corporate team could suggest is not spending any money at this location again and try a different location in the future. People talk about supporting small business but it is hard to want to support a small business that acts like this. read more
