I found a hedge trimmer on this store's website listed for $339.99 and it said it was in stock. When I went into the store, the price on the item was $409.99. A really nice sales associate checked with the manager and told us it was on promotion, so he had us bring the item up front to purchase it. When we got to the register, it would not ring up at the promotional price. The manager then came over and immediately started insisting the price was wrong and aggressively trying to prove it to us. After going back and forth, he finally said their system was wrong and claimed this was a model they never carry. The whole interaction was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. He refused to honor the price that was listed online, even though the store staff told us it was on promotion. We can literally still buy it online for the price that brought us into the store in the first place. Way to lose a customer for no reason. If your prices are wrong online, as your own staff said, and your team does not know what is on promotion, that is a management issue, not a customer issue. The sales associate was helpful, but the manager's attitude completely ruined the experience. Rude. read more

We have a cute little Santa mailbox that we put out at our business, but it had broken off its base. I have tried to figure out how to repair it so it is ready for the holiday season. The kids love it. Scott and James were very enthusiastic to figure out a permanent solution. Took extra care and rethreaded the base, found the hardware needed, and then the epoxy to make it last. This is my go to spot for any home fixes required in my apartment. No skill necessary as the staff here is extremely helpful with finding exactly what you need. I usually just take a photo of whatever I am going to replace or bring it with me and an associate is always available to point me in the right direction. This little hardware shop has everything from patio table wear to novelty plungers. Sometimes you can find a coupon in the mail for a discount, but everything is reasonably priced without having to wander a giant store to find what you need. I have only been here 5 or 6 times but these people are the most helpful of any commercial establishment I've ever been to. I had to return an umbrella frame because I bought the wrong one. They helped with the exchange even through a computer system issue. This Ace Hardware has the most amazing patio section. They carry all sorts of loungers furniture, umbrellas in the big range of budgets. We bought eight loungers and four umbrellas in the past which have held up well. Most recently we bought two cantilever umbrella bases from them. Scott and Rene were extremely professional and helpful in getting these installed. Unfortunately, the base didn't quite match, but Scott came up with a solution and were there every step of the way to help us figure it out. And the staff are all very well trained. They knew exactly where to find the obscure items i was seeking out. And they clearly explained how i could fix the crack in my cement. This Ace is probably the nicest Ace I've been to. It has everything. They sell really neat items including candles, coffee mugs, Yeti's, and all sorts of Palm Springs souvenirs. I did buy a plastic chair, a candle, garlic and hot pickles, lightbulbs, and a garden dirt and weed claw. Staff is really nice. I enjoyed talking to the men in the store. I prefer Ace to Home Depot or Lowe's. Great value. Great experience. read more

Just popped into Ace Hardware the other day to find John L and thank him for solving a seemingly impossible frustrating issue involving a leaky decorative soap pump that I use for my liquid dishwashing soap. I thought it was a faulty pump causing soap to ooze out & went to buy a replacement pump, but after a brief discussion with John L, he suggested a washer. Brilliant! Simply brilliant! I couldn't say exactly how much time he'll save me the rest of my life now that I no longer have to clean up the constant oozing dish soap from the soap dispenser! He's my hero! We didn't need anything but our friends said we had to see and experience their hardware store! And so we did and we're totally blown away! Dogs are welcome and we had them both with us, they benefited from pet lover staffing with pockets full of really top shelf treats. This hardware has the largest selection of our door patio, pool and dining furniture I have seen in one place. And, it is all delightfully Palm Springs. We ended up with an armful of goodies and my wife ordered 8 place mats that she "needed ". I am the proud owner of two PS T-shirt's; one orange and one turquoise. The best, best, best, customer service ever! And, I train healthcare professionals in the art of patient care aka customer service! A few days ago I accidentally broke a precious little silicone hummingbird that hung in my window. I tried super glue. Useless. I tried again. Still useless. As a last resort I took it to my local ACE Hardware and that's where I luckily met Stewart Sella. Stewart didn't tell me how to go and fix it. Instead he took my hummingbird, walked me back to his department, got some different, stickier stuff, applied it and. . . that didn't work either. I figured we were done and too bad for me. But NO! Stew took it home. Drilled two small holes in the body of the bird, installed two tiny plugs that connected the two pieces ROCK SOLID! It's perfect!!! PERFECT!!!! I visited the store for the first time today. I was very disappointed in the help I received. I was looking for a tiny metric screw, the sales guy opened the drawer and said here they are. I said oh, I don't have my glasses. He looked at me said here they are. No offer to help. I've been to an Ace in Dallas where I live part time, looking for a bolt that HD didn't have. The service was amazing. I was greeted as I walked in by many of the staff. This didn't happen at your store and this sales guy had no interest in helping me find the right screw. This is what I always expect at HD. Hardware stores are slowly disappearing due to the big stores competition. I will get the screw at my Ace in Dallas. i needed a table fan assembled so i called ace hardware in palm springs and i asked if they could do that.....they did not hesitate and said come over james can assemble that for you.....i drove over when i entered the store the person (do not know his name) who i talked to said "oh you are the person with the fan"....he called james over...james put together the fan in 10 minutes and made sure it worked....i so appreciate the service that the bigger operations do not provide...so i thank james and the person who answered the phone....they made my day!!!! read more

My husband and I love going to this Ace. We recently brought in 2 large screen doors to have new ones made. James is amazing. We don't live in PS full time so we expected to leave them and pick up in a week or 2. At the time, James didn't have another job so he started ours right away. He got them done the same day. There was a minor adjustment needed on one of the doors and he was able to make it promptly. The price was good also. We highly recommend James and Ace. read more
