Disappointed today.

Who would have imagined a landscaping rock dealer could be fun?…read more First off, they had the decomposed granite we needed at an excellent price and delivered very fast. That was why we went there. But they also sell marble slabs (needed for our kitchen reno) and other things in their little shop. It's not fancy but it's perfect. And Kyle is friendly, knowledgeable, and just a delight to deal with. Haven't met Gary but we feel very confident with Kyle. Funny enough, it was Kiersten from Rodeo Pest Control who recommended this place, which indicates these are strong local business with pride in their work and care for the community. The corporate world has gotten pretty ugly lately so we really wanted to go local. Turns out the prices, service, and knowledge are all way better when you do! At least here!

(I was still going to have to do carpet). Their price blew me away. It was the same as my handyman and me buying the product. After all is said and done, the stain remains... it's a little better, but it's still there. QT&C lifted the carpet and replaced the padding as an extra attempt to remove the stain. 100% fantastic experience!! Thank you so much to Denise and…read moreDave at Affinity Flooring of The Desert in Yucca Valley, Ca. for breathing new life into my Joshua Tree home. I had Talevera tile installed on all bathroom counters plus master bath tub surround and shower, laundry room counter w/backsplash, fireplace surround and my kitchen counters w/backsplash and that's combined with Saltillo flooring/Saltillo Baseboards that they installed as well and can say it was one of the best home contractor experiences I've ever had. Their clean and beautiful work has completely transformed my home. Denise was abundantly helpful throughout my decision making process in picking out tiles, tile layout, design and more and lent her guidance and keen sense of style whenever I needed and Dave and his experienced crew did a flawless installation throughout the entire home and often lent their guidance and expertise as well. This I really appreciate as the entire project felt daunting at first, but I knew I was in good hands. Bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room, fireplace surround and my flooring came out just absolutely beautiful. It's a whole new home now. I can't recommend Affinity Flooring enough if you need any flooring, countertops, bathroom work and so much more that they can do. Thank you Denise and Dave and thank you Affinity Flooring!

Straightaway, his MO is the antithesis of transactional; it's more zen, quietly high-minded, if you will. A community shaping healthy ecosystems come way before commerce. If you're lucky, you meet Mike. If time allows maybe you get to know him: the little boy he's a caretaker to. The Roadrunner Mike shares his breakfast with. The down-on-their-luck types he's given shelter to. Perhaps someone might've referenced his Saturday radio program. (Mike won't, given his humility.) Or, his Wednesday assistant happens to gift you half a dozen brown and green eggs from the hen who roams the yard. Then it begins to dawn what an honest-to-goodness treasure we have. That is if you get it. Apparently half the Yelp posters don't. Just like our very environs, Mike shouldn't bend to your needs. An issue cited by a couple reviewers--the scattershot hours Mike keeps; "the gate always closed"--is a nonstarter. That owes itself to a 60-something who's forever hustling; taking care of people. Hauling down to San Diego, or up to the Central Valley for increasingly harder-to-find healthy trees. Locals know: When immersing in a desert landscape, patience, being mindful, not to mention showing respect for surroundings allows the beauty to emerge. The payoff comes your way. Without doubt, the same can be said of Mike and Unique.

This is for the folks who like a treasure hunt, maybe the folks who love thrift stores and vintage cars, and see beauty in diversity. Yep, it's a little bit messy, but staffing shortages abound everywhere and here is no exception. We used a gift certificate to pick out a few apple trees and a bunch of sages and other things, which all looked a bit rough around the edges because of the season. Once they got settled in at home they're all thriving, and one sage has even re-bloomed way ahead of schedule. I'm so glad we visited, it was such a treat to see this little oasis!
