Tools, There are times you need to buy less expensive tools and although you get what you pay for and you usually get a value here. There are things at HFT that aren't a good deal because the quality just isn't where it should be. In those cases, the manager should step up and fill the void and i didn't feel this store's manager did that in my situation. Some HFT's are better than others on that situation. From now on I'll stop before i come up the hill or just wait and deal with another manager whenever possible. . read more

Recently I purchased two commercial fans on-line from Harbor Freight. When UPS dropped them off, both boxes were torn and heavily retapped. When I opened them, I discovered that the motor heads for both were missing and there was visible damage to the metal parts that were shipped. Harrumph. I loaded what I had into my truck and hauled them to the local Harbor Freight Store, here in Yucca Valley. My intention was to return them for a full refund and take my business elsewhere. That is, until I met a nice lady who works there (I wish that I knew her name). She offered to replace the junk that was shipped to me with two fans that she had in-stock. And to top it off, she offered to discount the purchase price, to make up for the inconvenience! I must admit that I arrived at the store angry, in an eight-cylinder huff. However I left the store with exactly what I wanted, in pristine condition and with a discount of over sixty-two dollars in cash. Wow. I'm old and stubborn and I avoid self-service, self check-out as much as I can because I don't want to help them take away more Service industry jobs. It is refreshing to receive real service from nice people. My advice to my neighbors is, resist the temptation to order on-line. Instead, call or visit our local Harbor Freight store first. I absolutely love this store. Not only do they have an incredible array of Cool Stuff(tm) to look at, but prices are stupidly reasonable and I want to buy all the things. What sets this store apart from other discount chain stores is the customer service. Our Yucca Valley Harbor Freight has the BEST customer service. I'm a chick who likes to build things. I'm used to going into places like Home Depot or Lowe's and being talked down to, asked if I "know what I'm doing," etc. Not here. They have a very knowledgeable staff who never treat me like a second-class citizen or potential hardware dummy just because of my gender. They are always friendly and greet everyone in the store, make sure you're aware of any sales or special deals going on... and make sure you have the latest coupons to get the most out of your purchase. I always leave Harbor Freight with a smile, and way more stuff than I actually needed because the prices are so good and the staff knows how to gently nudge you in the direction of more neat tools you definitely need for that project you haven't even started yet. Over the past year I have purshased many items from this yucca valley location from vacum pump and gauges, grinders and accessories, tow straps I have spent hundred and hundreds of dollars at this location i have all the receipts for the items listed !! Recently I purchased a two wheel hand truck the tire keeps going flat I lost the reciept so I am stuck with it ! A few weeks ago I bought a amp meter i turned on and it shut off never worked again i had to borrow one from a naighbor to do the job ! I lost the reciept so I am stuck with two bad items !! The multi meter was only $14 dollars you think the manager would have tried to do something to make it right !! No receipt no return ! Bad buissness practices they need to hire common sense managers !! I am going to steer clear of this location from now on learned my lesson !! read more

I have been to many Harbor Freight stores in my time and this one is by FAR the cleanest I've ever been to. I think the word I'm looking for is immaculate. The employees here are very knowledgeable. While I was there, there was an older gentleman at the cash register and he was explaining something to a customer in great detail. I know this because I am nosey and listened in. The store manager was also on the floor having a conversation with some guys about something they were looking for. When they walked away from her they talked about how great it was that she knew her stuff. Coming from a retail background myself, I know how important it is to be available to your customer.
