Friendly knowledgeable staff. These guys take care of our small community with Ammo and any weapons that they are lucky enough to be able to stock in these times. All reviews here that call them Nazis or Woke anti-Americans are lies. These guys love America and do what they do to support our 2nd Amendment rights. They are patriots who are constantly putting up with woke liberal nonsense trying to wreck their business and our constitutional rights. This is a critical business to our community and they are friendly and knowledgeable a vital resource for us out here on the fringes. read more

I was there yesterday to buy some ammunition. Had to wait 5 mins for the cashier to finish hitting on the guy before me. Far be it for me to stand in the way of someone trying to find true love, but, really? You couldn't just ring me up and then get back to it? Would give zero stars if the app would allow. read more

I recently bought a new 9mm Rost Martin hand gun from here and these 2 are nice helpful guys with positive advice, (recommended) glad I shopped here and I shall be returning. read more

jon is on top of it. ffl. ammo. orders taken. without ig. yucca would succka alot more.

I moved here from LA and was pretty intimidated by the prospect of buying my first gun. John and Terry are awesome. I was a first time gun owner when I came to them, they took their time to help me choose, purchase and take home my first glock and helped lead us through all the legal changes that came early 2024. My hubby and I bought a few guns from here and their prices were lower than major online dealers. I find myself coming here almost every week! Either buying a firearm, buying ammo or just wanting to say hello bc the guys are awesome. They also introduced me to a nice shooting club locally that I'm a part of now! read more

The owners are always quick to help or answer any questions you might have. Check them out!

This store owner offered support and direction to assist me with my goals. He was very accommodating.

Love these guys. Definitely the best shop in Yucca. Super knowledgeable staff will help you find what you're looking for. Prices are on par with that place in Palm Desert. read more

IGA is by far the best around, no hard sell tactics, will honestly sell what you want or need and will help to find the best deal for you, and already has the best prices anyway. Hard to find a better deal even at the big stores. If I wanted something special Jon was able to get it for me. And quickly. The big stores don't have the level of service he does. read more

Great Helpful Spot First of all as a woman gun owner it's challenging to find a spot that's inviting and this is a great location. I can get some great information- non condescending and when I know what I need the owners are friendly. Willing to order something so if it's not on the shelf so ask away!!!! I have been to plenty of shops from Indio to Temecula and this is a great store. read more

First off, yes, I'm a local. But I keep my opinion non-biased. This store isn't where you go for all parts AR-15, Glock, aftermarket this or that. (I was just in that kind of store in Boise this week and, damn they had it all) but this store is small town and I love it. Just what you need. Anyway, Jon the owner is an awesome guy. He always talks the truth and is willing to help you get anything you're looking for. They have done a great job keeping the Morongo basin supplied as best as they can during our shitty COVID times. I have seen all walks of life come through the doors and they all get the same treatment. Unless you're a "karen" non 2A type. Then he does nothing and the customers help explain why they are going to leave. But that will happen in any gun store. I recommend this store for anyone. read more

I love this store! Would always prefer to buy from a small local shop rather than a big national chain. The customer service is great, all of the staff are extremely knowledgeable, and their prices are always competitive!m. I have bought multiple Firearms and ammo from these guys and will continue to do the same as much as I possibly can! read more

Honest, good people here and great prices. For a small business, they have a surprising selection of firearms, accessories, and ammunition. This is my go-to shop. read more

John is a great guy. I wanted a newly released shotgun. John checked and his suppler was out of stock. I checked, at lease a dozen sites and all were out of stock. Obviously, this is a much sought after item. 2 days later, John called stating he found one. I ordered it from him and it came in a few days later. Considering the situation,I expected the price to be way up there (as I saw on line). In fact, his delivered price was under MSRP! He gives great friendly support and I will be back. read more

These guys are great, stopped by while staying in Palm Springs for a week or so, super knowledgeable and best prices in town by far for ammo purchases. read more

HANDS DOWN THE BEST GUN STORE. Such a helpful store When my husband and I were looking to purchase our first guns. We were barely learning about what we liked and needed. Jon and his staff were more than happy to take their time to help us find the right guns for our needs. They have the best prices on guns and don't try ripping you off. They treat there customers like family. If you're looking for a specific gun, Jon the owner will see if he can order it for you. They Always go above and beyond every single time you walk into their store. We had been to a few gun shops that made us feel dumb when we wanted to purchase our first firearm before coming into independence guns and ammo. So happy we found them and we continue to do business with them. The only gun shop we like to buy from. My husband and I will drive from Temecula all the way to yucca just to buy a gun from them shopping because of there customers service. read more

Typical small gun shop as far as available stock. And, as you would expect, the employees and owner are very knowledgeable in all aspects of their business. But they are exceptional in their service and good humored and friendly as well. I've been many other places for guns an ammo over the years, but this place is the best. read more

Staff is knowledgeable, store is clean, prices weren't crazy given the circumstances. It's a gun store, if you're going there for political reasons and you don't like how that works out for you, that's on you. 5 Stars! read more

Very knowledgeable and helpful. Not the best selection of firearms but they will order whatever you need. Personally I would rather do business with a local that is into the shooting sports and advocacy of sport. Also, the current address is 56158 29 Palms hwy in yucca. read more

Nice store and knowledgeable staff with expanded hours under new management. Check it out!

Terrific place. This is a great shop. They are very helpful and knowledgeable about what they do and have. And call before you show up and talk crap because he is closed. People have lives and are highly regulated due to the state during these times. Keep up the good work and I hope you stay open for a very long time. You have my support and we respect you brother. Jon and the team at Independence are awesome! Have helped me, my sister and several friends to get what we want and are looking for in pistols, rifles, shotguns, and ammo! I purchased a rifle from Luke and not only was the price reasonable the service was top notch. We had a little hang up with our beautiful states ever changing laws. Luke was very helpful and worked with me through it. I feel most of the big gun stores would of just said sorry about your luck. Independence Guns & Ammo is a perfect example of why it is important to support small local businesses. read more

Jon went above and beyond super helpful with a newbie, and I'm a liberal to boot! (I also have a GO BACK TO LA sticker on my car, cause yep, the LA people act pretty badly out here most of the time -if you are offended, you're probably the problem). I bought a house far out from town with no near neighbors and after years of feeling totally safe, I had some guys case my house at 1am a few weeks back. I ran them off with my car but reluctantly felt arming myself was the best option for the future as the sheriff never even showed up to the call. Jon walked me through tons of options for both handguns and shotguns ... even staying after his store closed because he wanted to steer me away from buying an American-made "crappy" gun I was considering due to its low price and seemingly great marketing claims+warranty. He was right. After two weeks of tons of research online, youtube videos, comparisons, and calling several other gun stores I realized his prices are the fairest you can get and his knowledge and advice are spot on and accurate. I decided to order online and get the guns he advised me to buy as he had already sold out in the time it took me to make a decision. I kept calling back to double check that his transfer fee was only 10% of the online order price because all the other gun stores I called in the area were charging $75 PER GUN at minimum. Now I am the proud owner of a handgun and a shotgun and soon will feel much more secure at home (will be hitting the range regularly). I appreciate the entire experience and his focus on each customer. Every time I called on the phone he was busy and I had to wait, but when in-store he made others who phoned wait on hold while he took his time with me. That's true customer service to give such undivided attention one at a time. And thanks for treating me so well even though I told you at the beginning of our experience that we were opposites politically! read more

I've been dealing with Luke/Independence since his early days at his previous location on the other side of town. Despite his limited hours, his effort to run a viable guns & ammo store in YV appear to be, so far, working. Ease of doing business, Luke's friendly manner and his in-depth knowledge of the sporting arms is refreshing. His consignment rate, mark-up and fees are more than fair - especially when compared to the 1-star store IMO (I've stopped in at least half a dozen times over the years) a few blocks 'down the street'. read more
