The Stores are clean and well stocked with quality brand name products. Staff is exceptionally attentive. The Pharmacy is the best of all retail chains, which might not be saying much these days because all retail chains over-work and under-staff their pharmacies. Rite Aid here in 29 Palms is one of the best Rite Aid Stores I have ever shopped in. I shop there often, although their prices are not as low as Walmart, but they are close and I get all my prescriptions filled there. Rite Aid Pharmacies use good quality generic brands of prescription drugs. somewhat better than Walgreens and much better than CVS (friends don't let friends shop at CVS). If the Pharmacy appears busy, keep in mind they fill about 1,000 prescriptions, each and every day using 1.5 Pharmacists and 4-5 Pharmacy Technicians and clerical persons during a 12 hr shift. Also administering countless numbers of vaccines each day.

In terms of customer service, some of the folks who work in that area aren't exactly welcoming and expect you to know the store rules even though they're not posted (like you should purchase your items from cosmetics in cosmetics). Overall, a solid option for everyday household items and last minute needs. Especially in this area where options can be limited.

This Walgreens is nice, big and organized, I like that, also noticed many new items that only this Walgreen has. I was just in and out so didn't walk through the entire store. They have a small section with Joshua Tree Souvenirs, no luck with getting matching shirts since they were limited in shirt and sizes. I did end up grabbing snacks & slippers for the hotel pool. I cannot imagine how much extra I have paid over time (TBD). I am 46 years old and have never had a pharmacy remove active insurance and overcharge me like this (stating it was removed by a tech because I asked to use a coupon card at some point in addition to my PPO insurance, which makes NO SENSE). I have reported this issue to corporate and will be fighting for retroactive billing and reimbursement. The pharmacist has had a rude tone several times and even insinuated I was lying about picking up a medication last Monday, which I did (I have the medication and the receipt). After showing up today and being told my medication was not ready as promised and to wait, I got a text saying it was ready, but the price was $214 and my insurance wasn't applied. When I went in, I was asked to produce my insurance card. The pharmacist insisted I hadn't picked up a medication with insurance last Monday, which I did. When I asked why my insurance wasn't applied, which was correctly in their system, she said it was "written down as cash and to inquire with me." She decided not to check the system right in front of her, which is a huge part of her job. Why would you not apply my insurance? You are a pharmacy!! ‍ Picking up medications should not be this difficult.
