I've never been to your Yucca Valley location but I have been to the New Pharmacy in 29 Palms a few times over the years and everyone there is nice. I went in for a flu shot today and it only took 10 minutes or so. I don't like needles but I didn't feel a thing. I really appreciate that. This pharmacy is great. They helped my get my Rx filled before they closed at 5:30. Otherwise I would have to have waited until Monday and suffer thru the weekend. I've had years of great customer service at the Yucca Valley location until this week. I've had an issue that was a little frustrating to take care of. I made the phone calls and did most of the work to resolve the issue via my insurance company. Today I tried to call and finally get my medication filled and was told they are too busy (to call a number I provided them and confirm with my insurance) and I had an extremely rude interaction with a woman who was smug and decided it was ok to discontinue the interaction by hanging up on me. I used to enjoy using this small and pleasant pharmacy over the big chains. It got too personal. It actually felt really bad to be treated like that. I expected better. At least I know the big chain pharmacy I transfer my meds to will just treat me a robot. Goodbye New Pharmacy. read more

The 'nrw pharmacy has the most unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Prescriptions are not done on time and the waiting area is filthy.

I just moved back to Yucca Valley from San Diego last month. I moved from here about a year after they opened. They haven't lost a beat. I'm altering my review. I ended up changing pharmacies. I was there 2/18. I went in. A man was there talking to a tech, holding a disposable mask in his hand. He wasn't holding a prescription, just chatting. He left. I asked why he didn't need a mask, the tech just shrugged. I switched to Vons. New pharmacy called yesterday, the 23rd to ask why I left, I told the person, she contradicticted me instead of telling me that she'd look into it. Its easy to see who was working when I was there. I was impressed to find another location of my favorite high desert pharmacy here in twenty nine as I had only used the one in Yucca. I was even happier to run into the nicest and most efficient, accommodating employee Jessica at this location. I had missed seeing her in Yucca so it was cool to find her at this location and now that I've moved back to the high desert I'll be coming here because it's great to know someone cares and never makes mistakes. I moved to Joshua Tree a few months ago and I had to transfer some of my prescriptions over from LA. The pharmacy has been very helpful and have made it easy. They have certainly made the transition process hassle free. I had a bad experience at Star pharmacy in Joshua Tree and the national chains are very impersonal. New pharmacy has excellent staff and are always available to answer your questions. They also have a delivery service that makes it convenient when you need it. Keep up the good work! I used to think the very best of New Pharmacy, however lately, the service has not been what it was. I have called several times to refill a prescription and it wasn't done and there were refills on the prescription. I also have my prescriptions delivered as I am 74 and do not drive anymore. Today was the fifth time my prescriptions have not been delivered-and I called early this morning to verify that it would be delivered today. Great service, helpful staff. Hours are limited. Closed sundays. So if you run out of your meds on the weekend you're out of luck. Also, they close at 12pm on Saturdays further limiting access to your medications. My gripes are mostly about their hours, honestly. Everything else is great. read more

I just picked up a prescription for my Chihuahua. It was a very small amount of a pasty liquid medicine, that they put into a large bottle. Half the medication is stuck to the walls of the bottle so after a few doses, I won't be able to retrieve the medicine unless I cut the bottle in half. When I returned to speak with the pharmacist she was a smart ass. She said, "you're a strong man, shake it up and put the syringe in just like this." pulling out almost all the medicine and having medicine globbed to the side of the syringe. And then she said, "You're a strong man." again. just shake it up...... The bottle is too big dumb ass. All the medicine won't be accessible dumb ass. Is that a language you can understand? 5 ml. in a 50 ml container. And zero common sense. read more

New Pharmacy 2 reminds me very strongly of the old-fashioned neighborhood pharmacy. Other reviews have noted that there is only a short wait for prescriptions to be filled. That's true but almost irrevelant--a little while ago my surgeon prescribed an anti-inflammatory for me to take for the two days before surgery. Neither Rite-Aid nor New Pharmacy had it in stock. Rite-Aid told me that they would try to order it, and MIGHT receive it on the day of the scheduled surgery. When I told the pharmacist about the scheduled surgery he immediately telephoned the surgeon to get a substitute, and provided me with the medicine I needed almost immediately. Neighborhood service? You bet; from my first visit the staff called me by name! New Pharmacy 2 will get all my future business, and I shall recommend them to anyone who might need them. They are great! Sean was very helpful! The Doctor sent my meds to the wrong place and Sean called and got it transferred for me, plus their prices are a lot better than Rite Aid. It was half the cost of what Rite Aid chargers me. Also within 10 minuets of them calling to Get my meds transferred they were ready for me to pick me up, rite aid always tells me to come back in 2 or more hours. Thank You New Pharmacy! read more

I do not recommend this pharmacy. I brought in a controlled substance prescription and the girl said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes, when I went back she told me that I never brought it in !! So I said we'll have to review the camera and lo and behold she found it. She said that she filed it and never gave it to the pharmacist. My daughter went to pick her prescriptions and while she was there picked up mine. When she arrived home, one prescription was not in the bag, once again, it was a controlled substance. So I called the pharmacy and the pharmacist said it was in the bag. My daughter put the bag in her purse and zipped it up. So I called back and told him that I was going to have to call the authorities. 15 minutes later he calls me back saying someone found it on the floor outside and brought it to them. I went to the doctor a few weeks ago and he sent my prescriptions electronically and they received some but once again, they were missing one of my controlled substances so I called the doctor back, the doctor actually got on the phone and said he sent it. And the pharmacy kept insisting they did not get it. The next day I called and they said they still not get it, so my brother went to the doctors and they showed him that it had been sent. So once again I called the pharmacy and they gave me some story about how they called the doctors office and someone had to review my chart. So I called the doctors office and they said no one there said that and that they sent it. So I called the pharmacy ONCE again and told them who I spoke to at my doctors office and half an hour later, they finally said they had received it. And the following week, I just happened to glance at one of the warning labels and they had put the WRONG doctors name on most of the prescriptions. The doctors name they had put on some of them, had NOTHING to do with the doctor that prescribed them. Their office was in no way affiliated with my primary doctor AT ALL !! I went to my specialist whose name they put on some prescriptions on Monday and showed her that they used HER NAME and DEA number on prescriptions that she DID NOT PRESCRIBE and she was FURIOUS !! And I don't blame her, they used her name on prescriptions SHE NEVER PRESCRIBED !!! She called the pharmacy and hollered at them. She actually came back in to tell me that she called the pharmacy and really hollered at them. She said she could sue them for doing that. My primary care doctor prescribed them and he sent them to the pharmacy electronically so HIS name had to be on what he sent. I have heard others also complain about what they do with controlled substances too. They need to be investigated. It's happening too often to a LOT of other people also. read more

Some staff here have smart mouths and don't give good customer service. They are very comfortable causing havoc to customers they don't like.( not filling all prescriptions prescribed and longer waits then needed).You don't have to like someone to do your job. They have no integrity. Some staff are VERY unprofessional and rather have side conversations than assisting. I guess their pregnancy is an excuse for them doing bare minimal . So unprofessional , Very cocky and always has a chip on their shoulder. Yucca Valley New Pharmacy is 110x better. The staff is excellent and do a great job. They seem more sincere with assisting you than the Twentynine Palms Pharmacy. They actually go the extra mile to help you without any hesitation. It's always problems with the 29 Palms New Pharmacy. Yucca Valley New Pharmacy could teach them something, better yet maybe they need to be retrained. If you can give great customer service to someone you like it should be easy for you to give it to somebody you don't like. ( Kill them with kindness) You're in a dangerous field and should not play around with people's medication regardless of how you personally feel about that person.
