Everything went well! This small old-fashioned Pharmacy has a little bit of everything. If they don't have it, more than likely they can order it and you will get a call when it comes in. This pharmacist is REALLY weird! When I pick up my medicine, he opens up each bottle and pulls out some of the pills and looks at them. But then, I had a colonoscopy scheduled and my doctor prescribed a brand name medication. However, the pharmacist there, Rocky, made the decision to give me a generic medication instead. Without asking my doctor or me if that is OK. I am guessing he had that stuff on the shelf and needed to get rid of it. This stuff made me violently ill. I was not feeling well for days! I will never set foot in this place again. The service is not good and that he just thinks he can willy-nilly override a doctor's prescription is close to criminal! I called to transfer my prescription 1 week ago. They mentioned that they would try to transfer my prescription, but they haven't been able to reach Walgreens Pharmacy lately. I really need my meds, so i go to Walgreens & was told that my prescription was transferred to Star Pharmacy. I have not heard from them. Not only was my 25mg of Queatipine transferred, but my 200mg of the same prescription was transferred without my consent. No one answers or calls to update me & i am at a loss of what to do about my medication that i desperately need. This is unacceptable. read more

They were trying to be helpful in my time of need to fill my wife's subscription unfortunately they were not able to do so. One disappointing thing was they indicated my insurance would not cover brand name drugs. Which they had on hand and offered me a cash deal. After taking with another pharmacy they told me my insurance did cover brand name drugs. read more

It's nice to know that Joshua tree has a good pharmacy- no need to drive to Yucca valley. I called ahead to make sure they had what I needed and they did. Went to pick it up before closing time at 6 pm. Staff was very helpful and items are well priced. I was able to get what I needed and out the door in 5 mins. read more

It's funny they mention "pesky cacti injuries" - my dog's run in with a Prickly Pear and me (unknowingly) finding out about it after I pet her was why I came in. I have experienced the best 30 years of top notch pharmacy services with Star Pharmacy. Rocky, the owner, is absolutely lovely to do business with. He and his staff and very kind and I believe he now has a younger male relative entering the business. Rocky takes the time to get to know the needs of his customers and is proactive with a quality of service I have not experienced anywhere else. If there is a problem with your prescription Rocky will take care of you. Cash prices are very reasonable. He is very attentive and triple checks the medication before providing it. They are the most unprofessional pharmacy. I came there because the other pharmacies didn't have my med in stock in the amount my doctor prescribed and I went in because I called ahead and they said they had it l.. when I got there I got treated like garbage. He told me that " those meds are only for regular customers" and he kept inquiring about my medical on why I was getting them when that is NOT HIS BUSINESS. It's his business to ask allergies. I told him that he was welcome to call the doctor who prescribed the meds as it was from a pain specialist. I explained how I've been thru chemo and a bunch and I was going to have surgery and that's why the doctor wrote on the prescription to fill early. He constantly was rude. I called after and a younger man answered. I wanted to bring it up with a manager and he laughed as I was explaining what was going on. The most ironic thing about all this is when you walk in to the store it says " come in as strangers and leave as friends" I cannot begin to describe to you how crappy this man's business is and I would recommend others not go here. I've been a local for over 5 years of twentynine palms and to be treated like this is disgusting. Especially because I am military. RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL.I am veterinarian who has used this pharmacy in the past. in fact my DEA number is in his system. I Went there as a client requested this pharmacy and we wanted to support small business. Walked in with written script to be filled for a 16 year old dog suffering from seizures and Rocky refused to fill the script. Why I don't know but I have my own thoughts on that. I will never come to this pharmacy again. I was picking up two prescriptions for a disabled friend. She had called them and asked if they were ready for pick up and was told yes. When I got there I informed them I was there to pick up the prescriptions. There were 4 other people in the pharmacy waiting to get their prescriptions filled. I was told I had to wait until the other people's prescriptions were filled first. Very poor customer service and rude employees. Never again! read more
