I used a sharp utility knife, and cutout a 2x2 inch piece to allow them to match. I also had them match some exterior paint. I brought all my samples to the store, and they made each color which allowed me to simply patch and paint without doing the whole room! I dropped off my samples, and picked them up the next day. This gave me time to spackle, sand + prime, so when the paint was ready it was a quick job. It was great to avoid repainting everything. The finished job looks great, and you would never know it was recently touched up.. I found the people at the desk to be professional and on task.

When I arrived, I was told they didn't have the paint base in stock and that someone was supposed to have called me before I made the drive. No one did. Over an hour of my day, wasted. They offered to have the paint delivered to the Cathedral City store, which I appreciated, and said it would take about a week. About a week to two weeks later, I called Cathedral City -- they had no record of my order and were frankly unhelpful about it. I then called Palm Desert, and sure enough, the paint had been delivered there the whole time. Once again, no one had called me. I asked again to have the paint transferred to Cathedral City to avoid yet another long drive. The person I spoke with was unhelpful and kept explaining that he only works a few times a month (or year) and would had to bother his manager on their day off. That's not my problem as a customer. At every step of this process, the ball was dropped -- no follow-through, no communication, no ownership of the mistakes. I'd strongly recommend using a different location if you have one available to you.

While looking at colors a clerk comes over to us and lets us know they do this promo where you can get 3 little tester cans of paint in any of their colors and 3 brushes for like $20. So we did this. Clerk was great and helpful. So when it came time to do other rooms we went back. We go in and there's a clerk behind the desk. He doesn't say hello or anything. Eh, fine. No biggie. So we do our thing and pick our three shades to sample. We go to the desk to tell the clerk we want the sample deal and you'd have thought we were asking him for plasma. He tells us the colors we picked won't work for the sample pack. When I asked why he didn't answer but proceeded to type things into his computer. He then rings up the order - again never answering my question as why the colors we picked wouldn't and goes into the paint mixing room. Comes back 10 minutes later with our samples. I asked about the brushes and again a reaction of complete annoyance. He hands them to us and walks away into the back. No thanks. No nothing. We went back a third time on a Sunday. When we walked in and saw him we turned around and walked out and went to Sherman Williams. It's a paint store, I get that. You don't have to be overly attentive. It's not a high end botque. But at least be nice. If you dislike what you do that darn much perhaps do something else. I worked retail for decades and it's not always a picnic. But at least try to be nice.

Other stores couldn't help, but when I called Ace, Brett told me to bring the parts in. He went out to my car with me where I had the water feature in my trunk, took the time to match up the fittings, cut a custom piece of hose, and had my fountain working again for only $13.40. This is exactly the kind of knowledgeable, friendly service that's becoming harder to find. It's reminiscent of the old Mom and pop shops that have gotten lost in corporate America. I came back a little later and the salesman. Patrick was so unhelpful and had such an attitude that I doubt I will be going back to this hardware store. This person needs to work on customer service and being polite. The part was misting nozzles five for $16.99 and as you could see in the picture, Amazon has it for under eight dollars for a pack of 20. you would think when you're paying so much more that when you go into a store, you would get the best service with somebody with a polite attitude.
