There are 2 sides of this review. The first is the good experience. We are rehabbing a house. We go in to this store on our contractor's direction to pick paint colors. While looking at colors a clerk comes over to us and lets us know they do this promo where you can get 3 little tester cans of paint in any of their colors and 3 brushes for like $20. So we did this. Clerk was great and helpful. So when it came time to do other rooms we went back. We go in and there's a clerk behind the desk. He doesn't say hello or anything. Eh, fine. No biggie. So we do our thing and pick our three shades to sample. We go to the desk to tell the clerk we want the sample deal and you'd have thought we were asking him for plasma. He tells us the colors we picked won't work for the sample pack. When I asked why he didn't answer but proceeded to type things into his computer. He then rings up the order - again never answering my question as why the colors we picked wouldn't and goes into the paint mixing room. Comes back 10 minutes later with our samples. I asked about the brushes and again a reaction of complete annoyance. He hands them to us and walks away into the back. No thanks. No nothing. We went back a third time on a Sunday. When we walked in and saw him we turned around and walked out and went to Sherman Williams. It's a paint store, I get that. You don't have to be overly attentive. It's not a high end botque. But at least be nice. If you dislike what you do that darn much perhaps do something else. I worked retail for decades and it's not always a picnic. But at least try to be nice. read more

This review is about service not paint quality: The front desk staff is friendly but if you need a special paint mix go somewhere else. The man in charge of paint mixing was misleading, dismissive, had very limited expertise and excelled at the "how can I not help you" practice. I called Vista paints and they were happy to provide me with the easy formula I asked for. read more

I have utilized this store's services for the last 5 years. Recently I placed an order over the phone, as a busy Handyman sometimes does. Minutes later I received a phone call back, explaining that they were out of stock of the specific paint base I required. In moments the Assistant Manager Cynthia was able to resolve my problem by checking the stock of the surrounding stores. She was able to order and have ready my paint without delaying my schedule. And at no additional cost! And for a businessman, that is one pleasing experience! Thanks again Cynthia! You are doing a great job! read more

Beyond frustrated at this I'll run store. Sample cards missing, and the ridiculous first time to ever have a job not at a yogurt shop couldn't careless. Four employees just standing around of zero help. Ordered for samples, only one customer there at the time, returned almost 45 minutes later. Samples not ready. Had to leave to meet my painter and client with NO paint to share. Unbelievable. Get it together, we are paying people by the hour and it's not 15 dollars. read more

It is time to paint the exterior of our home in one of the HOA-approved color schemes. Wanted to get this right, so we went to the Dunn-Edwards store in Palm Springs and met with the professional color advisor, Darin Pepper. He's the best! Darin was patient, professional and extremely knowledgable - besides having a really good design/color sense. We took pictures of our home to our meeting and Darin was able to produce a schematic showing how our home would look. If it weren't for his help, we would still be staring at paint chips and stressing out! Go talk to Darin and the other good folks at the store on Palm Canyon in Palm Springs - you won't regret it. read more

I really didn't know what I needed and was depending on them to help me understand. Dunn Edwards has different sheen names than I'm accustomed to. When I asked for the woman with purple hair, (not that I care about hair color, I just want to make sure we all know who I'm talking about) what these sheens were again, she became condescending because she needed to repeat herself to a stupid customer. This was my second encounter with this woman and her mannerism was the same as the first time I made a purchase, uncomfortable. I haven't experienced this with any other Dunn Edwards employees, but I won't be giving them my money again. Cat City isn't that far away. read more

The worst customer service! No willingness to help, from the counter person to the manager who looked like he was having a bad day by the way he was talking to the employees . I had to drive 6 miles to a different Dunn-Edwards location and what a difference. They helped me with everything I needed it . I used to love going to this store over 10 years now all of a sudden as a home owner picking up paint for your contractor has become a nightmare. Dealing with Cynthia and Jim is just a terrible experience. Apparently it's fun for them torture their customers. Now you have to wait unlit they reach your contractor before you can pick up paint. I can barely reach my contractor. I like to shop local and support smaller stores but in this case I would ask your contractor to find a new paint store to deal with. Who really wants to wait hours with crews sitting around to get paint. I guess profit is more important than servicing the clients. It's my last time, I am sure there are other local paint stores that want customers. read more

First of all, I was initially glad to see that Dunn Edwards is now open in Palm Springs. After all, it can take an hour to get a gallon of paint at the store in Cat City. This afternoon I stopped in to the new store to order 3 gallons of paint for an upcoming job. I figured afternoons were great, since most of the tradesmen get their pint in the morning. I walked into the store at 3:30, and found no customers and two sales people working. Great! I should be out of there in 5 minutes! I did leave five minutes later...after being ignored by both clerks. I am now on my way to True Value to order the same color in Benjamin Moore. Palm Springs True Value has great, knowledgable staff, and fast service. I'm at a loss as to why Dunn Edwards bothered to open another store, if they aren't planning on serving their customers any better than their other store. Needless to say, I will not be back. read more

I am a homeowner in Palm Springs and have received excellent service at this store. Very organized and knowledgeable staff.

Dunn-Edwards may be the preferred paint for contractors, painters and designers, but not these experienced homeowner painters. We used their paint once and never again. We recently purchased a home painted throughout, including the ceilings, with a Dunn-Edwards latex beige. We wanted to go white, so we did what we have done numerous times before: we primed with KILZ Stain Blocker then painted. But this time we used Dunn-Edwards' most expensive interior latex, Everest. And we painted the whole house and ceilings with two coats of each. To our surprise, color or stain started seeping through the white. We contacted Dunn-Edwards and three company reps paid us a visit. Many questions were asked and many pictures were taken. But it was evident that they were not willing to consider that something was wrong with their paint. After a week went by and no word, I emailed one of the reps. In his reply he basically said we screwed up by using KILZ instead of Dunn-Edwards drywall sealer! Who uses drywall sealer to prime over paint? We never have. Our general contractor never has. His painter never has. I guess if you are not willing to accept responsibility for a possible product defect, you blame the customer and offer a lame answer. The rep did offer us some free paint. Because we had totally lost confidence in the company and its product and people, and didn't want to risk further problems by using Dunn-Edwards paint again, we basically told him what he could do with his paint. So we will reprime and repaint, but this time with one of our historical faves: Benjamin Moore, Behr or Vista. And we will share our experience with Dunn-Edwards at every opportunity. read more

Beautiful new store in the uptown design district. The employees are extremely helpful and I was able to place my order by phone. They have convenient parking and loaded my paint for me. I am a huge fan of DE paints. They are high quality and worth the price!! read more
