LMFAO. I do not own a horse, a horse trailer nor am I in any sort of agriculture business. I never transported any music gear in your Sentra. Yes, someone hit your Sentra while the car was legally parked and knocked off your side mirror. I got photo copies of the driver's insurance, driver's license and phone number. This is in no way shape or form my fault. I turned the driver's info over to you. The trash bags you speak of were full of my kids' toys and other personal effects that tend to accumulate in a car after being without my car for then 8 weeks!!!! You run an incompetent shop and you are known to be a shady business. Yes, my partner's mother did pay for the engine because he was not available and he is the one that blew the engine. She has never been a previous customer of yours either. She was just taking care of his responsibilities while he was gone. Yes she is a very sweet woman. You only offered me a loaner car after I threatened to call the Attorney General after the first used engine you sold me blew after 35 miles and you refused to cover it under the "1 Year Re-Manufacturer" warranty. That was after you had the vehicle for over a month! An altruistic man you are not! You forgot to mention that the first POS loaner car you gave my wife to drive my children around in after 5 weeks of BS about how you could not get the engine delivered, broke down. LOL. The brakes went out and then the car would not turn off. She had to leave it running wherever she went. I am assuming you did all of the service on that car too. I said I transported a 250lb speaker in the back of the Suburban on the night that the first USED engine broke down, not a trailer. I had driven a total of 34 miles on the USED engine. A 250lb speaker driven at 55 mph should not blow a re-manufactured 5.7 Liter V8 engine but it may blow the USED engine you put into my car after charging me for a re-manufactured engine. You are a liar sir. I have contacted other customers who have been victims of your bait and switch tactics with auto parts. There is one review on this page that is eerily similar to mine only they were ripped off the the tune of $8000. My partner was a loyal customer of your shop? BS. He had never spent a dime there. He got two estimates from you before he ran into his problems. It took us three weeks to locate the vehicle. The vehicle is still in your shop with a miraculously blown rear end after sitting, still, in your possession for nearly 10 weeks. Every time you did something new to the vehicle, some new problem totally unrelated pops up. This is called consumer fraud. You had not finished the truck by the end of SXSW so how could I have transported anything with it during SXSW??? Get your facts straight or quit lying. While the vehicle sat on the side of your shop for now 10 weeks, I had two independent ASE certified mechanics come out and look at the work you had done. BOTH said that even the second engine IS NOT, NO WAY, NO HOW, A RE-MANUFACTURED ENGINE. They said it looks like a used engine that you just threw in there. Both took pictures and both will be testifying to that fact and how they came to this conclusion. They also inspected my AC system which had just been completely re-done in Oct 2012. They said that the damage to the line was caused by whomever removed the top part of the AC to remove and replace the engine. They said it was the lazy way, not the proper way to remove the AC line before doing the engine work. You then tried to charge me to repair the damage caused by your mechanic. Both were laughing and scratching their heads about your claims that this is the $4600 re-manufactured engine. I have contacted the Texas Attorney General's Office Consumer Fraud division and the BBB and filed complaints for deceptive trade practices. BTW, you should ask your attorney what "threat of litigation" means. read more

I bought my car from accent auto in October of 2012. Buying experience was great. No rush, no haggling, completely professional. There were a few problems with the car after I bought it but eddy (owner) was more than willing to get them fixed free of charge. I also service my car here (oil changes, inspection) and never have had any problems. But sometimes they are quite busy, expect a wait. Needed an oil change and usually take in to dealership but this time I took what I thought would be a risk and bought a group on from Accent Auto. I was out in an hour. BUT, as soon as I left, I called a lot of friends and told them I found "my mechanic"! Eddy, one of the owners, is very honest and helpful. Not only am I going to continue to take my car there for its fluids and oil BUT he is helping me with the body work at a VERY fair and honest price. Very friendly as well. You just know when you meet someone trustworthy. And as we know, mechanics can be big swindlers I highly recommend Accent Auto!! And yes, as other reviewers have commented, the physical location is very small, it is jam packed and can give you a "shady" feeling BUT the saying, "don't judge a book by its cover" definitely applies here. A friend had recommended Axent to me and so I tried them out for an oil change and to get an estimate on a broken AC in my car. I think I received a fair estimate for fixing my AC and I had very friendly and courteous service from the owner Eddy as well as from his mechanics. The oil change price was reasonable and while this was going on I had a nice chat with Eddy, partly in French, and will certainly go back to try them again. I found this place on Living Social.com and since I thought it was past time to get my oil changed, I thought I'd try it. Not too far from my house since I live outside of downtown Austin. LS certificate was for Oil Change and 20 point inspection which they said would take an hour (need to make an appointment online). Got there and they took care of me and my car. I'v read a number of reviews with the same issue! I have bought several Groupons and my husband bought me one as a gift. My problem is that Accent Auto has striped the oil pan plug 3 out of 4 times. This last time we called and asked for a refund and was told no. Josheph told my husband that he would redo the oil change. I used a groupon for a $17 oil change a couple of days before Christmas. The parking lot is terrible, but the staff was fairly nice and the whole process was quick. As I was leaving I noticed my car was still saying that it was overdue for an oil change. The guy in the office came out and helped me reset that countdown thing, and I left thinking everything was great. Yesterday we needed work done on our brakes, so we took it to our regular mechanic. He told us the car was nearly out of oil and there was no way the oil could have been changed in the last 6 months! I'm so glad we took it in when we did, because it could have seriously damaged the car if we went like that much longer. I went in for an oil change and a tire rotation. I made the appointment for a Saturday since I was in from out of town visiting family, so I was running a little late (Austin traffic, who knew?), so I pulled into the TINY parking lot, was told to move my vehicle, and then walked in the front door. The gentleman behind the counter told me that I was 15 minutes late so I had forfeited my spot and while he was telling me this, I wasn't even 15 minutes late my the clock hanging above his door! I told him that and then also told him how the mechanics in the parking lot told me I had to move my car which took a bit (again, Austin traffic on lamar). He begrudgingly agreed to squeeze my car in so I left. Two hours later, they called me that my car was done. I show up and they hadn't rotated the tires! He claimed that since i had a front-wheel drive car, it was better to leave my better tires on the front which A) my car is not a front-wheel drive car, and B) even if it were a front-wheel drive car, you ALWAYS put the better tires on the back. Basically, they screwed me out of my money as I had already purchased the Groupon and couldn't get a partial refund, and argued with me about something I know to be true. Don't go here. read more

I came in with a groupon deal for an oil change and diagnostic check. In addition to them running quite behind their estimated time of completion, they also failed to do an actual diagnostic check (which i didn't find out until I took my car in elsewhere for additional estimates), and provided me with a ridiculous estimate for repairs. They told me the result of my diagnostic check was I needed a new head gasket as oil was leaking, and I needed an transmission fluid flush. I also needed my headlights cleaned. Their estimate was ridiculous (I believe over $500). I took my car to precision tune on burnet and got all the repairs for half of what accent quoted me. In addition they told me the repairs had nothing to do with the engine, and therefore would not be the source of my check engine light still being on. A quick check told them the light had something to do with emissions in the fuel tank. Now, I have to again pay someone for an actual diagnostic check to figure out what the precise source of the check engine light is. Two stars because no problems came from the oil change. read more

Recently used a groupon for oil change, tire rotation, and fluid top-off. Went there knowing my engine coolant was basically bone dry and wanted to see if they would "top it off". After I left, I checked and see if they had put in coolant in and as expected it was still none in there. Did they even rotate my tires? I guess they changed my oil... I guess I should have watched them do all the work to see if they are actually doing the job that I purchased. As a consumer, we look for a reliable and honest mechanic shop that will do the job that we purchased and not try to do unnecessary work for a extra dollar. so, i bought the groupon for this place which was supposed to include checking all my fluids and topping them off, a tire rotation, and an oil change. First thing i noticed when i got in the car was my tire pressure light was on. i figured they really could've taken the few minutes to air up my tires for me right? nope. second thing i noticed was that there was and oil spot when i parked my car at home. my car was now leaking oil. thanks! and then i decided to check my fluids...they had definitely not filled up anything. so, today i took my car to PDQ over on berkman. thats where i should've gone in the first place. those dudes are super helpful, pro, and reliable. Accent on the other hand was careless, sloppy, and a complete waste of $30. they could have caused me a lot of trouble had i not gotten this tiny leak looked at. just because you see a group on for something, doesn't mean that is the best decision. these guys care about making a quick $15 (groupon gets 50%) and absolutely do not care about creating a good client base with return customers who bring them more customers with good word of mouth. thanks for absolutely nothing accent! and thanks to PDQ for being so badass as to fix these idiots mistakes for me for free! read more

Thanks Accent Auto. These guys have always done a great job fixing my car and they are very honest. I recently had a problem with the automatic door locks on my Chevy Tahoe. From researching the internet, I knew the problem was one of two things 1. an inexpensive relay switch or 2. needing to replace the door motors, which would have cost hundreds of dollars. Being a novice at car repair I tryed to test the relay switch myself and let them know that I did not have good results. When I brought the car into Accent Auto, they could have easily sold me the much more expensive repair, but they did not. They diagnosed the problem quickly, as indeed the relay switch which I had tested incorectly, fixed the car and it cost me next to nothing. I have also had great results on repairs to my brakes. I will never take my car to Accent Auto again. I brought my car there to replace my alternator and two front tires and to get the car road ready for my recent move to Chicago. BIG MISTAKE!!! 20 minutes after picking up my car, my newly replaced tire went completely flat. I had to have the car towed back to the shop the next day. Eddie, the mechanic, promised to have the car towed early that next morning. The car was still sitting in my yard at 3 PM that next day. As mentioned, I was preparing to drive to Chicago, IL and Eddie and his team reported that they had changed my oil and other fluids. This was not the case. My car completely broke down on the highway, in a snow storm, in the middle of nowhere in southern IL. The car had zero oil, the newly replaced tire went flat again, and the newly replaced alternator had completely failed. The car was then towed to a local body shop and I had to say in a motel for 2 days. Since I was in the middle of nowhere, the parts for my car had to be ordered. I had to leave my car there and hitch a ride to Marion in order to rent a car to finish my drive to Chicago. I was unable to pick up my car for over 2 weeks. This whole ordeal caused me to be late to my new job and not to mention cost me a fortune. What makes it worse is that Accent is now refusing to reimburse me for the labor costs. I have been to Accent Auto on South Lamar twice now with troubles with my girlfriend's car. Both times the car was making noises and I had no idea what was wrong with it. After having it checked out and fixed here twice, I can say I will never take any of my cars anywhere else. The owner Eddie and all of the employee's there are very welcoming and friendly and take the time to explain things so they are easy to understand. The first time it turned out a wheel well cover was loose and was scraping against the tire, they trimmed the part that was sticking out and retightened it for no charge! This time there was an awful grinding noise coming from the front of the car and it turned out to just need new brakes. They could have easily convinced me that it was something much more serious. I trust these guys 100%, they are definitely not the kind of shop you have to worry about frivolous work or being overcharged . They do good honest work and I would recommend them to any of my friends. read more

Beware! Dishonest and unprofessional!! I went there today because of a groupon deal. What a mistake! Here's what I wrote to groupon: I am outraged at the lack of professionalism and lack of integrity I just experienced at this business. I took my 2 year old vehicle for the routine oil change and tire rotation. After returning an hour later and with a receipt in hand, I went to leave only to find out that my car won't start. The technician mumbled something about the battery and lifted my hood up to investigate. I was told "oh yeah, your battery is dead. " He brings me a diagnostic paper (that I was never given) to show me where it was marked that it was bad. He jump starts me and says he can give me a quote. I go inside and am handed the diagnostic paper. It wasn't even for my vehicle! After 2 more papers, he hands me the correct one. All papers I looked at had replace battery listed on them. He quotes me $240 without labor bc of the hassle. I tell I am feeling scammed and he gets angry and tells me I can leave and go get a second opinion. I did. $130 for a battery with labor. I am seriously concerned that there may be other problems with my car. My check tire pressure gage is still on. There are additional red flags on my paperwork. Please warn other unsuspecting grouponers. This was terrible and they should be ashamed of themselves. I will also be doing a local yelp review as well as taking my car to the dealer to make sure the work they said they did was done and that nothing else is messed up. read more

The mechanic instructed the driver to leave the truck inside their gate. Monday I get a call from the owner he asks if we picked up the truck, because he saw the truck there on Sunday but now it wasn't there. The truck had been stolen from his lot. I purchased a car here and was told that they didn't do shaddy business by George. So with that being said I was told by a George that if anything was wrong with the car I could bring it back and he would fix it. I returned the car several times due to it having problems. They did fix some of the stuff that needed fixing, but when I called to let them know I was still having problems with the car sounding as if it's going to shake apart when I hit a small crack in the road, I was told by Eddie to bring it back and they would take care of me and that he was still waiting on the motor for my sunroof to come in so they could fix it. So when I called to let Eddie know that I was on my way so he could check and fix my car, George answered the phone instead and I asked was it ok for me to come by at the time so they could see what was still wrong with the car,he blew up at me and started shouting saying that he wasn't going to fix nothing else on the car and he also said he made a deal with my boyfriend that after he did the last repairs he wasn't going to do anymore. He told me that he ordered the motor for the sunroof weeks ago and when he got it he will fix it and now he just texted his brother Eddie saying he's not fixing it and he's canceling the order for my parts. I wanted to know how could he make a deal with my boyfriend when my boyfriend isn't even on my contract and I'm paying for my own car. George is very very rude and will lie in your face to sell you a car that has many problems, then tell you that he's not a shaddy business man over and over again. I think the shoe fits him well.What do you think? I went in screaming and cursing at Eddie for something that I was told by George, but before I left l prayed silently and apologized to Eddie and yes he yelled and cursed back at me too. But I can't blame him. I was raised to treat people the way you want them to treat you. So I yelled and cursed him and he did it back, after we had it out we work it out and I couldn't do nothing but laugh with him, and I told him the devil stay busy he didn't do nothing and there I was yelling at him. But GOD step in and we came to peace with each other. Eddie is really a good guy. But as for my car getting fixed as was promised by George is another story. Do not visit this place... They have me an estimate of 1900 to fix my car. Guess what? I paid a mechanic 100 to fix the only real issue I had. All I need to change now is two rear breaks. Sorry accent auto my rotors were actually good. I am in the process of finding out how to report them since they have me a bogus invoice. They will give you a free diagnostic in order to try to find bogus issues in your car. read more

While looking through local deals on Groupon, I found what seemed to be a good one with Accent Auto. An oil change, tire rotation, and fluid top off all for $29. Sounds good, right? I go ahead and buy the deal. My first negative experience with them came from the first phone call. I called to schedule an appt during regular business hours (11am on a Tuesday) and the phone rang for FOREVER with no answer. It seems they have no answering machine. I called back a few hours later, and while this time I at least got an answer, the guy put me on hold for quite awhile. Once I finally got to speak to someone, I scheduled an appt. I am appreciative of the fact that they are upfront about their late policy, however they could be a little friendlier when explaining it to customers. Today when I showed up for my appt, I was greeted in a friendly manner and informed of my approximate wait time, one hour. Seems reasonable. They got the work done in a timely manner, no issues there. Here is where I have a problem... Upon completing the services I came in for, I am informed of 3 other issues that require attention: 1) Brake replacement, 2) power steering fluid leak, 3) engine oil leak. With parts and labor they quoted me nearly $1500 for these repairs. I thank them for the estimates provided, pay for my extra services (they also replaced windshield wipers), and left. Being a college student on a tight budget (oh, and bills are due Friday, yay $10,000 education) my first thought is to get a second opinion. I have not seen any puddles in my driveway nor have I experienced anything unusual while driving, so I am already skeptical about their conclusion. A family friend with over 35 years of experience in repairing cars came over to check it out. To sum up his report, he said my brakes had at least 10k left on them and the "fluid leaks" were BS. After extensively examining the car he said I have no immediate worries. Then just to be EXTRA sure, I drove my car to another trusted mechanic further outside of town. This mechanic has 15+ years experience running their own auto shop (my family has used this shop for all major repairs for ten years, the only reason I didn't go here in the first place is because of distance). They had the same conclusion... no immediate worries and plenty of time left on brakes. I give two stars because outside of my first phone call I had an overall pleasant experience and they did finish the services in a timely manner. However I do not like being taken advantage of, and that is what seems to have taken place. If not, their conclusions about my "needed repairs" were quite dramatic. In this business its very easy to do that to young women, especially when luring them in with coupons (what woman doesn't love a good groupon?). I will admit, they almost got me! My advice, stay away altogether. if I can't trust someone to give me an honest report on my car, I don't want them working on it period. I would rather give my money to someone trustworthy. read more

The office manager, Eddy, is a really nice guy and the staff was very helpful. They did the repair to my car in 20 minutes. I asked what else they did and they said "Everything." I've been looking for a specific SUV for my business for about 2 years. I narrowed my choice down to either a jeep gr. cherokee or bmw x5. I noticed the exact vehicle i wanted at Accent on So. Lamar. I went in and priced it with the owner,george, and went about arranging financing. After the transaction was completed, I drove the vehicle home. That weekend I started experiencing some unusual messaging(in and out of four wheel drive and electrical malfunctions.) I was disappointed and a little mad when i took it back the next Monday. George assured me that they would make sure the vehicle was repaired and i left it for three days. George called and said repairs were finished and i could pick up the car. These guys replaced a defective alternator and replaced two rear tires at no cost. Needless to say, I AM PLEASED WITH THEIR PROFESSIONALISM. Since they have purchased a BMW scanner and have several foreign certified mechanics, I will be letting them service my vehicle. Recommended dealership. read more
