Edited to add that as of today, 9/29/26, Capital Chevrolet has STILL NOT sent me the second key fob they promised me. This is after emailing customer relations. No response, nothing. They lie, don't go there--they used aggressive tactics to get you do a good review. They said if I gave them a good review they would give me 8 years of Onstar for free...well that never happened and when I asked about it, she said "No, I meant the Cheverolet App." I was promised a second key fob would be mailed to me and still have not received that and I bought my car May 24th, 2026. Unfortunately, our experience with Capital Chevrolet was extremely frustrating from start to finish. Chris was very pushy and pressured us to make a deal before leaving. We ultimately purchased a 2024 Hyundai Palisade, but after nearly 8 hours at the dealership, we discovered that all of our paperwork had been signed with the wrong VIN. I don't blame Garyon, our salesperson, for the mistake--he was new and was the one who came back and explained what happened. My issue was the lack of management involvement and communication afterward. We also caught a significant pricing discrepancy between what we were quoted and the vehicle's advertised online price. Quoting $35,000 in house but was listed for $29,150. After the sale, we removed the warranty and requested an updated deal sheet. The warranty was removed, but the dealer fee was increased by essentially the same amount, leaving the overall price unchanged. (Email with discrepancy below) We then discovered an issue with the $1,000 cash-back we were supposed to receive from our trade-in. After going back and forth with Lamar, we ultimately told him to keep the $1,000 and simply correct the paperwork to reflect the deal we had actually agreed to. It took nearly a week to finally receive paperwork with the correct pricing. (Pictured below at the 30k+ priced deal sheet) We chose to finance outside of the dealership. After the deal was completed and all of the paperwork was signed, I received a message that I would be getting a link to fill out a credit report because the finance department said they needed it on file. That was confusing because we had already arranged our financing elsewhere. (See voicemail below mentioning credit link info) The problems were not limited to sales. We financed through our own financial institution, yet we were repeatedly put in the middle of communication between the dealership and our lender. My advice to anyone purchasing here: slow down and carefully check EVERYTHING before signing--especially the VIN, sale price, dealer fees, warranties, trade-in amounts, and final paperwork. Do not assume the documents accurately reflect what you agreed to verbally. A vehicle purchase should not turn into an all-day ordeal followed by another week of trying to get the paperwork corrected. Based on our experience, I would not return to this dealership. One final note: if Capital Chevrolet responds to this review with the standard automated message asking me to contact customer service, please don't. The customer service email address provided in the automated response is invalid and does not work. We have already spent enough time trying to get these issues resolved. I took my van in when the a/c stopped working and my local repair shop couldn't fix it. The first issue with Cap Chev is that they listed someone else on my intake form and had trouble finding my van! My van ended up being in the shop for over a month! At first they said I just needed a replacement hose they changed me $900 for. As I was leaving after paying, the a/c stopped working again before I was even out of the driveway. This time they said it was a fuse box that needed replacing. Ultimately it went round and round for weeks and charged me $2500 total. A truly horrible experience, I would NEVER go to Capitol Chevrolet again. read more

**STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP -- ABSOLUTE CON ARTISTS!** These people are completely dishonest and deserve to be formally investigated. It all started when I brought my truck in for a routine oil change and was charged $120. Agreeing to that was the worst mistake I've ever made. Less than two weeks later, my truck alerted me that it was low on oil. I called **Daniel** to inform him, added oil myself out of fear of damaging the engine, and brought it back in. When I picked it up, the truck smelled so strongly of burning oil that we had to drive with the windows down. I called back--**Daniel** wasn't in that day--and it turned out they had spilled excess oil all over my engine. That should have been my first massive red flag. Soon after, the oil light came back on. I called **Daniel** again, and he told me to bring it in. He tried to convince me the truck had an oil leak, but I knew that was impossible--my driveway is brand new, and there hasn't been a single drop of oil on it. Losing 3 to 4 quarts of oil would leave a massive puddle. The "leak" **Daniel** showed me looked like someone literally wiped fresh oil onto an underbody part with a finger. Despite my instincts, **Daniel** insisted he was right, so I went against my common sense and paid $1,500 for the repair. A week after picking it up, the exact same low-oil issue happened again. Nothing was fixed--he just lied to take $1,500 from me. They then held my vehicle for two weeks without offering a loaner or rental. When I finally reached out to **Daniel** to ask for an update, he had the nerve to tell me I needed to pay for *another* oil change. I refused to pay another cent for a $1,500 job that wasn't done right. To make matters worse, when I got the truck back, the oil life monitor was only at 50%, making me suspect they only put half the required oil in. **Daniel** told me to just drive it for 3,000 miles or 3 months. Barely two weeks later, the exact same problem returned. I brought it back a fourth time, demanding a resolution. They kept my truck for a full week and did absolutely nothing--I had to be the one to call **Daniel** again to find out what was happening. After holding my truck for over three weeks total and taking $1,500 of my money, **Daniel** claimed this was suddenly a "new problem" that required more charges. How is it a new problem when it's the exact same issue I brought it in for originally? I had A/C electrical issues.....took a month to fix, entered someone else's name and contact info on initial work order, told us it was a vacuum tube first, no charge for part, but labor was $850, didn't fix issue, replaced AC control head and blower motor $1688, did not fix A/C problem, went to pick up....gas gauge completely on empty & loose wire hanging below steering column, took vehicle back to add a few gallons and secure low hanging wire; and A/C went out again....2 weeks later ..final try was to replace fuse box $780 additional charge. Upon final receipt of vehicle, in reverse gear; rear backup camera now does not work. This is the Chevy Dealership's quality of work? To be avoided at all costs. read more

We scheduled to test drive a vehicle. After driving 90 minutes to get to the dealership, we realized they had pulled the "bait & switch". Upon arrival, we met the salesperson we spoke to on the phone. He introduced us to a second salesperson that was supposed to be pulling the vehicle for us, except he wasn't informed of the stock number, so we provided that to him. He then took us to a desk and left to get the keys. He brought a Manager back to introduce us to him - the Manager was "happy to meet us" and told us to be sure and let us know how he could help us. Then sales person B said they were "having trouble locating the keys to the vehicle we had reserved, and started showing us vehicles on line that were either twice the mileage or significantly more costly. We made it clear we had reviewed the inventory on line and just wanted to see the vehicle we had reserved. Suddenly, the keys were in a known location - with another salesman that was closing a deal on the vehicle. Over 4 hours wasted between travel time and the "bait & switch" attempt at the dealership. I had previously removed this review because a representative from Capitol Chevrolet reached out to me and said they wanted to make things right. Since then, we have had another terrible experience, resulting in us having to pay for a rental car for a week. The work was under warranty, and we were told that we would be reimbursed for part of the rental costs. It is several weeks later, and every time I call, I either get put on hold and then hung up on, or sent to the voicemail of someone who never returns my call. Earlier this week, a service advisor assured me that she would initiate the process and provided me with her direct extension. When I called back, the phone system said that the extension was invalid. My original review: Do NOT take your car to Capitol Chevy! They have no respect for customers. Go to Henna or Autonation. My experience with Capitol Chevy was the worst customer experience I have had in my life, and based on the other reviews I'm reading, my experience was typical. We took our 4 month old Traverse there and rented a car because they told us there were 30 people on the wait list for loaners. Our case manager from Chevy corporate later found out there were fewer than 10 people waiting. Not that we would have expected to get to the front of the waitlist, but this was the first of many untruths we were told. After 9 days of them having our car with zero communication, I got a message from my service advisor John asking me to complete a survey about my experience. My wife called and found out they finished working on our car two days earlier. John then lied to her and said he had texted me. He later admitted this was untrue (see attached images). One of the main reasons we brought the car in was because the headrest on the third row seat wouldn't fold, so the seat couldn't be put down. John told us that there was nothing wrong with the third row, and it immediately folded down when his team looked at it. Again, this was a lie. The seat was still up when we picked it up, and the headrest is still broken. Maybe the most insulting part of the experience is that someone left a coffee in the front cup holder. I don't know how long it was there, but it was long enough that it had mold growing on it (see attached image) and made the car smell terrible. It's over two weeks later and the smell isn't gone. We have tried to contact Capitol Chevy many times in the past few weeks. One service advisor told me he would have the service lane manager, Anthony, call me back within 24 hours. Two weeks later, I've heard nothing. Another service advisor told me she was transferring me to Anthony's, and then suddenly, I was sent to Nicole in client relation's voicemail box (who also didn't return my call). The negative reviews you see here are not the exceptions. Capitol Chevy has an established pattern of neglecting customers, refusing to show basic human decency, and not owning up to their mistakes. Even an acknowledgment that they screwed up would go a long way, but it doesn't seem like they respect their customers enough for that. read more

I am extremely disappointed in both Capitol Chevrolet Austin TX and General Motors regarding how a catastrophic issue with a brand-new vehicle has been handled. My 2025 Silverado experienced a catastrophic engine failure with under 6,000 miles and required a full engine replacement. While the mechanical issue itself is concerning, what has been more frustrating is the lack of communication, follow-through, and urgency from both the dealership and GM. Since the vehicle went into the shop: * I've had to repeatedly initiate contact just to get basic updates * Calls and promised follow-ups from the dealership were not returned * There was no clear repair timeline provided * The replacement engine was later confirmed to be on backorder, extending the delay even further * I've incurred ongoing rental costs due to the lack of a dealer loaner and minimal coordination Despite escalating the issue to GM Customer Care and requesting meaningful resolution, the process has felt slow, reactive, and dismissive of the real inconvenience and financial burden placed on the customer. When you spend hard-earned money on a new vehicle, especially a premium truck, you expect reliability, accountability, and proactive support when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, this experience has demonstrated the opposite. Bought a 2025 Chevy Traverse and loved it. Until the sun roof leaked on my first car wash, 2 days later. Took it back and was told they can't do anything and that sometimes it just happens. "Be careful which care wash you pick, some are more powerful than others." Ok, strike one. Decided to move on, because obviously nothing is going to be done. Two months later, my hatch is opening by itself, several times. Take it in again. Two days later get a call that they're not going to do anything because no issue was found and no proof of a problem. I am beyond words and will NEVER buy another Chevy and especially not from this dealership. Going to pick up my vehicle and hope the hatch doesn't open while I'm driving it or while it's raining. Beware, once you buy, they couldn't care less. Never again. Update** picked up my vehicle Wednesday 6/25, brought it home and not even 2 hours later, the lift gate is open in my driveway all on its own. Took it back immediately. Called the service manager Tyler Erwin to discuss, no answer, left a message and still no call back. Not a word from Chevy so I called this morning, Monday 6/30. I wish I could leave less than one star. This was, without question, the worst car-buying experience I've ever had. As a single woman shopping for a car on my own, I already knew the process could be stressful. Unfortunately, everyone I dealt with--from the sales staff to the finance managers--only made it worse. They were incredibly pushy, ignored my boundaries, and seemed far more interested in making a sale than listening to what I was actually saying. I repeatedly told them I was not ready to buy a car that day. Instead of respecting my decision, they continued to pressure me until I finally agreed to put down a $500 deposit to "hold the car while I decided." I was explicitly told that if I changed my mind, the deposit would be fully refunded. After leaving, I realized I wanted nothing to do with this dealership because of how I had been treated. When I contacted them to request my refund, getting anyone to help me became a nightmare. I was given the runaround, my calls were ignored, and I was even hung up on. It took multiple days of repeatedly calling before I finally received confirmation that my refund would be processed. No customer should have to fight to get money back after being promised a refund. The entire experience felt manipulative and unprofessional from start to finish. Save yourself the time, stress, and money. Capitol Chevrolet advertised a vehicle at a discounted price online with only tax, title, and a $225 doc fee disclosed. But when I requested a buyer's order, they added over $3,100 in non-optional dealer-installed accessories that were never disclosed in the ad -- including $899 paint protection, $299 wheel locks, and other inflated charges. When I pointed this out, they refused to remove the add-ons, despite the fact that I never requested or consented to them. Mandating dealer add-ons and refusing to remove them is illegal under the FTC's CARS Rule (16 CFR Part 463) and the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA § 17.46). This is a classic bait-and-switch tactic, and I'll be reporting Capitol Chevrolet to both the Federal Trade Commission and the Texas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. It ended up being 2 MONTHS. I had to initiate all interactions on updates, almost to the point of begging to know what was going on with my own vehicle. They had me travel from Killeen to Austin in false hopes my vehicle was "finished and ready to go" which was a LIE. I believe he knew that and constantly swapped their stories around on my vehicle actually being ready. I finally get it back and within 2 days I get a check engine light on a BRAND NEW motor replacement. I have purchased three vehicles at Capitol, a 2005 Suburban, a 2017 Colorado, and a 2020 Colorado. The transmission of the 2017 Colorado was slipping, and I traded it in for a 2020 Colorado (long-bed) just before the 5-yr/60K powertrain warrantee was to expire. I was hoping I would have better luck with the 2020 Colorado; however, its transmission began slipping at +/- 75K miles, beyond the 5-yr/60K powertrain warrantee. Trading in the 2020 Colorado was not an option for me because Chevrolet no longer makes a long-bed Colorado. Based on internet research, the 2020 Colorado has known transmission issues including severe shuddering vibration (especially at 25-60 mph), harsh/delayed shifting, and hesitation, frequently linked to the 8-speed automatic (8L45) transmission's torque converter. Being a past customer, I was hoping that Capitol would help with a portion of the repair expense of a known transmission issue. GM's factory estimate of the transmission repair was +/- $11K with GM providing a 10% discount for goodwill, or about a $10K repair expense for me at Capitol. I told Capitol this was disappointing since I have an estimate for repair of the 2020 Colorado transmission from Eagle Transmission with the same 3-yr/100K warrantee at a cost of between $7.5 and 8K, or at a cost of more than $2K less than Capitol. I would have thought Capitol, where I have purchased three cars, would have helped me with the 2020 Colorado transmission repair at, at least a reasonable % less than a respected Austin, TX transmission repair shop like Eagle Transmission. This was not what happened. I paid the Capitol $250 diagnostic fee...left Capitol...and dropped my 2020 Colorado to have my transmission repaired at Eagle Transmission for $2K+ less than Capitol. Ironically, Eagle Transmission did a great job on repairing the transmission on my 2005 Suburban that I had purchased at Capitol. And...Eagle Transmission did not charge me a diagnostics fee before coming to Capitol. As a three-vehicle customer...I am so disappointed with GM and their Colorado transmission and with Capitol Chevrolet for their customer service. read more

The truck has 9800 miles and every few months the battery dies overnight. Last time he took it to service, they said they could not duplicate the issue and that the battery was fine and holding a charge. This morning, its dead again. A Dealership That Doesn't Want to Sell Cars? (Yes, this is just Part 1 / Day 1...) I have never been more baffled by a dealership's inability -- or refusal -- to complete a sale with a documented, ready-to-buy customer. I'm a repeat Capitol Chevrolet customer (previously purchased my 2020 Tahoe here). I came back fully intending to give them my business again for a 2025 Blazer EV RS that's been sitting on their lot for weeks, I believe even MONTHS! The vehicle was discounted even more than previously (likely due to it being the last RS and inability to sell) on their website, June 22, 2025 at $46,480 (see attached screenshot). I had begun my inquiry almost a week prior on that specific vehicle, provided full trade info (including payoff, mileage, photos), and asked for a clean, structured quote. I was told a "corrected number" was being worked on. Then... nothing. Fast forward: No quote. No breakdown. No follow-through. Just silence and excuses. When I finally got a quote -- it was vague, now included $1,913 in dealer add-ons I never authorized, a placeholder trade value not based on any real appraisal, and no breakdown of my clearly eligible incentives (GM College, Costco, Non-GM Owner, Federal Tax Credit, etc.). When I questioned the lack of acknowledgment for the $11,000 discount that was advertised and screen captured, I was told, "They do not do old advertisement that we no longer are running." Really? This price was live WHILE I was actively waiting on a quote that never came. So whose fault is that? Mine... or Capitol's? Even worse -- the vehicle is STILL on the lot right now, but the price has since crept back up (screenshot #2 shows the new $48,480 listing as of today). Why reduce the discount, fail to engage a serious buyer, and still hold inventory that could have been sold -- twice over? The communication from sales staff has been dismissive, inaccurate, and unprofessional. Management has yet to directly engage despite numerous escalations -- and the General Manager email I was given by staff literally bounced back as "undeliverable." You can't make this up. I'm prepared to post an update each day until Capitol Chevrolet leadership decides whether they care more about moving inventory... or ignoring customers. I've done everything possible to give them the benefit of the doubt. But this dealership has not earned another dime of my time or trust-- not without serious correction. Lie after lie. I went into pick up my registration and plates. At the time of purchase, I had disabled veteran plates on my trade in. I asked the finance guy repeatedly if he was going to switch the plates to the new vehicle. He repeatedly assured me yes he would. He got me a screwdriver to remove my plates. The next day he reached out and asked us to re sign some paperwork he messed up. I agreed and I asked him again about the veterans plates being transferred when I picked up the paperwork, no problem he said. He re-assured me again via text after I returned the paperwork. When I picked up my tags, they were regular state tags. Now I have to go pay to get them swapped and loose out on the 2 year registration you get with a new vehicle. The license plates were just the straw that broke the camel's back. I called about a vehicle I saw online that was listed for a little more than I wanted to spend. I told the sales person the price point I wanted to be at, not a monthly payment amount. He said he thought we could get there. I drove in and the price went up after there add-ons! A wasted trip. I left we chatted back and forth over the next day or two. He text me a price that I was happy with and he says the sales manager approved it. I get to the dealership and he is gone for the day. Someone else helps me out and says they can't honor that price. The sales manager says the same thing. It's too low and he won't honor it. Despite the sales rep texting me a price, and having it on my quote. My wife being the more civilized one says we will pay any ways. It was a fair price but a few thousand more than we agreed on. Then we get back to the finance guy. He rushes thru the paperwork and extended warranty. Calls me the next asking us to come back in to resign something. I say ok, and as I am looking thru the contract I notice we don't have any paper work on some of the add-ons that sales said couldn't be removed. When I pressed him on it, he said he removed them because our extended warranty we purchased was better. I said then our price should have went down. I was told they couldn't be removed and expected them to be on there. He says that's just business, and that he can remove things that sales can't. And kinda just had a "it is what it is" attitude. Like I was wrong for expecting the things I was told I was paying for. I have been buying Chevys my whole life. Currently have a 2021 Suburban (purchased new) and a new 2025 Silverado from this unpleasant experience. I have never had a dealership experience remotely close to this. These words perfectly describe my experience with Capitol Chevrolet -- a buying process that never truly happened because the dealership failed to honor its own commitments, both on a recorded line and in writing via text. Ramiro Alvarez set clear expectations on pricing before I came into the store. However, once I arrived, those expectations completely changed. After two hours of negotiating, the managers refused to honor the price and interest rate that had already been agreed upon by their own online sales representative. With text messages as proof, I ultimately walked away at closing because Capitol Chevrolet would not stand behind their own words. Two days later, I was contacted again and told by the dealership would honor the original price and incentivized rate -- on the condition that I finance through GM at the lower interest rate. I completed the credit application, received the hard inquiry, and sat down with the finance manager to finalize terms. That's when the truth came out: they had no intention of honoring the incentivized rate. Instead, they attempted to push a higher interest rate to recoup money on a deal they were already losing. This dealership has shown me that customer trust means nothing to them. Capitol Chevrolet cannot stand behind its promises, cannot honor its own agreements, and cannot operate with integrity. But they went the extra mile to try to learn what I had experienced with the vehicle. They went on a drive and even made sure I made it to and from the rental car location. GMC/Chevrolet was once known and respected for being the working man's most reliable truck. But everything about this dealership/ service center is the farthest thing from that. After two weeks of being told it would be ready the next day, I received the truck only for the service light to come back on within days. The vehicle now conveniently passed the warranty mileage for the dealership to be responsible for. After dropping the truck back off a second time the sales/service member told me I needed a whole new engine for $8,000! Just in time to be out of warranty??? On a 4 year old truck? As someone that relies on that truck to operate my business I cannot afford to wait around for weeks with no loaner and continue to be told the truck will be ready the next day! Just to get back a malfunctioning truck. Then get told I need a whole new motor? What a joke! The fact that service employees are paid a commission (incentivized to find problems with the vehicle) is a direct conflict of interest. That simple fact right there does not align with the traditional working class values this brand once represented. - "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Capital Chevrolet in Austin needs to be shared, especially for women and members of marginalized communities considering this dealership. In 2023, I purchased a new Chevy Trailblazer from this location and within months experienced electrical issues. The service department offered minimal support, and I struggled to even get a loaner vehicle. Ultimately, the experience was so frustrating that I traded it in and purchased a new 2024 Trailblazer, again from Capital Chevrolet. Fast forward a little over a year and a half later, and now I'm dealing with a transmission leak on my vehicle. When I reached out for help, I spoke with their alleged Service Manager, John Jarvis, and the experience was horrible. I brought my vehicle in at 7 AM and was immediately told there were no loaner cars available, despite the fact that I purchased my vehicle from this dealership. No alternative support was offered - no shuttle, no rideshare assistance, nothing. I made a few calls to other Chevrolet locations in Austin, and they all told me that if I had purchased from them, they could get me a loaner within days. When I returned to John to ask for help with roadside assistance, he told me he would refuse to help me because someone supposedly told him I called him "stupid." This was absolutely never said. Even after clarifying that, he became visibly upset and began to raise his voice at me. It was loud enough that the service team in the room stopped to look at me. As a woman, the way he spoke to me was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I cannot imagine him speaking to a male customer in the same aggressive, dismissive tone. My father called John to address the matter and when done so, John lied and informed him he did not yell but only gave a stern tone. This is not High School, please leave your service teams gossip outside of the customer experience. I left extremely disappointed - not just in John, but in the broader leadership team. I asked to speak with the Sales Director, Jorge, and was told he was "too busy" while someone shut his office door. No one stepped in to de-escalate or correct the situation. I decided to take my car to another Don Hewitt Chevrolet (thanks for the recommendation Henna Chevy) for assistance due to the unprofessional behavior capital chevy has provided. My family has purchased three vehicles from Capital Chevrolet, and this is the treatment we received. If this transmission issue cannot be resolved, I will never purchase another vehicle from this location again. If your service advisor is John Jarvis, I strongly recommend requesting someone else. And for women, people of color, or anyone from a marginalized community - I genuinely advise avoiding this dealership altogether. We've now had two bad experiences at Capitol Chevrolet. During our first visit, the salesperson insisted we fill out lots of paperwork before we even discussed purchasing a car. We decided to give the dealership another chance about a year later, but things were even worse. As soon as we pulled into the lot, multiple salespeople surrounded us before we could even get out of our car. Inside, the dealership had an unpleasant smell and loud music playing, which made it uncomfortable to stay. The sales staff were very pushy, repeatedly asked the same questions, and couldn't clearly answer ours--often responding with "I don't know." The new cars we looked at were dirty and looked like they hadn't been washed in quite some time. At that point, we decided to leave and will not be returning. He never made me feel pressured, he made great conversation, we laughed as much as we did business. Highly recommend Alfredo! Unless you just like haggling, buying a new vehicle is stressful. Signing up for a large loan, and trying to get it for the lowest price, it's just not a pleasant experience. But, as far as that goes, I think this dealership did a great job. I purchased my 2023 Chevy Colorado from Capital City Chevy in Austin new. When I found a nail in my tire, a local shop couldn't fix it because the lug nut key was missing--previously the vehicle had only been serviced by Capital City Chevy's service team and this didn't come up (why did it disappear, is it because it requires repairs to be done at Chevy service location if you don't have it?). I went back to them. After two hours, they told me the tire needed a $350 replacement/couldn't be patched (local estimates for equivalent tire were $160), and the key I was entitled to wouldn't be available until Monday because the box it was in was locked (can't just replace all the locking lugnuts with a new set or take one from vehicle off the lot? Interesting they could still rotate tires..)... I left with the locking lug nut off (feels a little dangerous to not have all them on vehicle?). Another shop patched the tire for $25 and commented I was likely being taken advantage of because this was easy. The manager, John, promised he'd ship me the key Monday because he was willing to make things right and would Be in at 7am --but when I called, he wasn't working. In the end, I had to drive back again to retrieve the lug nut key myself. I hope they consider making this right--it cost me a lot of trust and time. I bought my brand-new Silverado from Capital and honestly wish I had read the reviews before I did. I've had my truck almost three years now, and every time I take it in for an oil change, the service has been a nightmare. I was told I get two free yearly oil changes with my purchase -- so why can't anyone ever tell me over the phone if I've already used them? It's frustrating to drive all the way south and wait two hours just to find that out. A simple heads-up would go a long way! Then last year, one of their techs didn't put my oil cap back on after an oil change. The next day my check engine light came on, and when I took it to Austin Automotive, they found oil all over my engine. I had to pay out of pocket to fix it. When I called Capital with photos and the invoice, it took several calls and emails before a manager finally told me they "don't make those kinds of mistakes" -- and basically blamed me. Why would I do that to my own truck? And now, just this week, they said I had a nail in my tire and charged me to fix it. Two days later, that same tire went flat. I called several times, left messages, and no one called me back. When I finally got a manager on the phone, he refused to refund my money. At this point, I'm done. Absolutely the WORST dealer I have ever been to (and I've been around awhile). First off, I am a female, and I am the one who is buying the car.... the sales person didn't even acknowledge me, but went directly to my husband. Second, after my husband told him he needed to talk with me, he continued to talk to my husband. After I told him what I need up front from them, he tried to push me to find out what I was looking for. When I let him know what I was looking for, but wanted to know what my trade in would be, he directed me to something I was not even interested in.... After WAY too much time, I finally got my trade in (in the most round about way) and have never been so insulted in my life! When I asked for my keys so could leave, I waited another 10 minutes before walking to the counter where the sales person was talking to another co-worker, asked for my keys and was handed a large plastic bowl full of key fobs and told sure, here you go. So you want me to fish through you bowl of key fobs for my fob????? If you don't have an opinion and are willing to allow a dealership to push you in the direction they want you to go, this is the place for you. Charged me $250 for a diagnostic (the north Chevy dealer only charges $90) and then proceeded to quote me $10,000+ for a transmission replacement after initially quoting $5,000 because they "forgot to add the transmission parts" to the total. Regardless, pricing is absolutely absurd. Probably didn't help that I was a woman who dropped the car off by myself. This place takes advantage of people and quotes absurd amounts for repairs. They didn't want to work out with me regarding the vehicle I wanted to purchase, instead they pushed me to get a lower trim that I didn't want. They also told me that the vehicle I originally wanted was sold when in reality it hadn't sold, I didn't find out until later. For my trade in they didn't want to match the competition price, their website says they will match it or give me 1k cash, that didn't happen. They also had told me a price one day and the next they said another price! About 2k more than what they said and told me that they would sell it to someone else if I didn't buy the truck, unfortunately I ended up buying it, and the reason I did was because they kept telling me that the one I originally inquired about sold and the one they showed me that I ended up buying was gonna sell later that day unless I bought it, I caved in and ended up buying the vehicle. Also their finance person kept pushing me to get extended warranty, and at one point he snapped at me, and honestly I felt a little threatened. Also the person kept going back and forth regarding interest rates, when I specifically told him which one I wanted from the beginning. He pretty much kept me hostage for around 2 hours. I was at this dealership for around 5 hours just to buy a vehicle, what a joke! And the add ons for the vehicle are insane it should be illegal, they charged me 2k for them and they wouldn't budge on them, 500 for lug locks? Are you serious??? 1500 for protection and tint? Wow talk about a deal! By the way I looked into everything and the total for all the add ons should've been like 1200 max. I've bought 2 vehicles before, this brand new and this was the worst experience I've ever had! Will not be coming here ever again, oh and they also gave me the wrong mats for my vehicle, it says on the window sticker that they would give me Z71 all weather mats and they gave me the regular Chevrolet logo mats, about 50 dollar difference. I've contacted them regarding that and it's been a month and no word, they keep telling me they ordered them and they're on back order, but funny enough, if I order them on the website they are available in a couple of days?
