In comparison to some other brands such as Aman, Four Seasons Maui felt below average given its price point. The resort itself felt small and a bit old. The service felt very below average and inconsistent. One employee would tell you the sun umbrellas at the pools near the bushes are not adjustable while literally 2 mins later another employee came and adjusted the sun umbrella next to me and also mine when I asked. When we went to the adult pool we were told by one employee that we needed to be on a waitlist. After 3 hours when we finally got notified that it was our turn and went back we noticed other guests just literally went and grabbed empty benches and staffs were just setting the benches up for them(no, they didn't even know there was a waitlist)... Our canoe experience at the last day of our stay got canceled due to high wind and the concierge never notified us etc. Many employees gave me the vibe that they don't really care. They just gave me fake smiles and robotic responses. Maybe Amond would take better care of us...if he is still alive... The view was very amazing. We even spotted whales many times.

Completely removed and replaced with about a dozen or more tables for four. Really , if you want a treat at sunset , come here. Great service.

We started with their special potstickers which was very good! I got the fish and chips which was very good and the fries were well done and had good seasoning! The family got the bulgogi pork tacos, jerk chicken, and the kalua pork pizza. The jet chicken was a huge portion of chicken that could definitely be shared. This is one of the more elevated dining experiences you will find on the island of Maui. Breathtaking views of the ocean sunsets are incredible. When dinner service begins. There is a native Hawaiian who blows a conch shell with a small ceremony to celebrate the evening and to pay homage to the true owners of this island the native Hawaiians. I started out with the Tchin Tchin cocktail, amazing delicate flavor, not too sweet. I then had to try their seared Ahi on the rock appetizer where they bring you a piping hot rock and fresh Aji you cook the Aji on the rock yourself and it comes with three different incredible dipping sauces. Then I had the lobster tempura dish for my main meal combined with grilled monchong. This is one of the best dishes I think I've ever had in my life. The fish was so light and buttery and juicy and flaky, and the lobster cooked to perfection, and I was very skeptical because were breading this lobster and tempura and there's such a risk of over cooking and that did not happen here I was super super pleased. I then went with the Pinoy honey toast for dessert with a side of Ube ice cream also incredible. The service here for me was second to none. Very little flavor, it's nowhere near as good as it once was. Such a shame, as the last menu had several of my favorite dishes. The service has been great and always is great. But this was my last time here. Due to the new menu being subpar and quite frankly really expensive. 4 adults $800. Only 2 alcoholic beverages. Just way more than anyone wants to spend on a subpar dinner. The renovations look great, definitely improved. So we'll give them credit on that.

The fish tacos were massive. The fish had good flavor, although it leaned a little on the dry side for me. The coconut shrimp, however, were my favorite thing we tried. We happened to arrive between their two happy hour windows, and while looking at the menu, we noticed that coconut shrimp were also available during the second happy hour along with other small plates. What I found odd was their happy hour policy. Apparently, you can only order from the happy hour menu if you've already purchased an entree and can show your receipt. I've never encountered that anywhere else, and it seemed like a strange business concept. Also, it is not posted anywhere that I saw. When my husband went back to order from the happy hour menu, the cashier asked if we had previously ordered food. He said yes, but our receipt was back at the table. For some reason, she had to go to the back to get approval before allowing him to order. It felt a bit awkward, especially since she was the same cashier who had taken our original order when we first arrived and we asked a bunch of questions, so I would def remember someone like me. lol That policy aside, the coconut shrimp were fantastic.
