UPDATE 8/6/2016 After I posted the YELP review, I was contacted by the owner of AC Express who apologized on behalf of the company for the experience we'd had. He said he had spoken with the technician responsible and that that after discussion had let the technician go based on his responses and the reasons he had given for the inaccurate diagnosis, indicating it did not reflect the values of the company. I am revising my rating from a 1 to a 2 based on the personal actions of the owner of the company. I would have given a 3, but that is an A-OK status, which does not reflect the overall experience. I would give the owner a 5 for his follow up and the attention he gave to an dissatisfied customer. We used AC express a few months ago and they did a good job replacing our AC coil. We called them again on Saturday when our 7 year old AC unit quit. After inspecting it, they said accumulated dust and dirt had caused the motor to go out and it would be a $1200 repair. They suggest we replace / upgrade the unit for $2400 nod would give us $200 off. As we were traveling and couldn't inspect it, we agreed and they wanted immediate payment...and they were to install it on Sunday. They never showed up, and on Monday morning I put the install on hold because the more I thought about it, the more suspicious I became of their diagnostics. I called another company on Monday who concluded the capacitor was bad (they sent us a picture of the CLEARLY bad capacitor) and the total bill was $295. I called AC Express later that day and asked for a full refund, which they agreed to. We won't use a company we can't trust. Steve read more

I would like to recommend AC Express (512) 452-2653 for any air conditioning needs. Here is my experience with them. In one word, Incredible! Our aircon died on a 90F day. It could not turn on at all. Their servicemen came in a few hours and had it fixed. One capacitor had to be changed. How much did it cost? Nothing. They said they already had the capacitor in the van and they had to rush to another job. It would cost too much to just write up the invoice. The aircon was working but not cool enough. I called them again the next day. Chad, who came the first time with another colleague, put more Freon in and the aircon worked beautifully afterward. He was very apologetic for not being able to test the aircon fully the first time he came because the unit was over-heated and had to be cooled down for a few hours first. How much did it cost this time? Once again, nothing. Incredible company, incredible people. Fast response, professional and above all, unparalleled honesty. I highly recommend them and I surely will call them again for my next installation. read more

We were having difficulty cooling our home and Austin AC Express came out and found the previous company (" Campbell Appliance" had installed "mixed matched components" such as a 3 ton Compressor with a 3 1/2 ton coil! Our home is 2,005 sq.feet and needs a minimum of a 3 1/2 ton compressor just to cool our home and the Compressor was not the size that should have been installed! Austin AC Express installed a 4 ton Compressor and a 4 ton Coil with Expansion Valve. The crew was on the job the first time I called, prompt, efficient, courteous and our system is now where it should have been in the first place. I am writing to spread the word about the excellent service I received from AC Express. It was a hot Saturday in Austin when I learned we had a serious cooling problem on one side of our office building. Immediately I called AC Express, not knowing whether offices were open on a Saturday. Not only I reached someone but Freddie arrived within an hour. Freddie carefully checked all parts of our system, corrected the problems and explained to me what he had done. I was very impressed with Freddie's knowledge of the equipment, and his ability to work on it. Clearly he has a deep understanding of air conditioning and excellent skills in working with people. My A/C decided to take an early exit yesterday. I called AC Express late last night and they showed up to my house during the promised time today. I was hoping that the issue was a simple one, like a bad Fan/Run Capacitor combo, but after some thorough troubleshooting it turned out to be burned up compressor. The great news is that Hubert showed up just a little over an hour after the inspection with a shiny new 5Ton condenser, and he and John wrapped up the install in short order. The house is no longer a balmy 85 degrees inside and is already back to a comfortable 72 for the wife, 3 kiddos, the pets, and of course, yours truly. I have been working with this company since 2011 with my technician of choice, Huber. He will answer any question, he is very knowledgeable and most of all reliable. The company people that I have had dealings with have all been friendly and responsive. In the last two years I have had both of my evaporator coils and condensers replaced. These were major equipment replacements. Huber did exceptional work paying attention to detail, cleaning up after all repairs with minimal disruption. Pricing has also been very good. The Woman who takes the calls was pleasant and polite, the guy who serviced our AC did a lot of work for a very reasonable price (so reasonable we were eager to tip him well) We used them because they were local and they Didn't disappoint: arrived early, were very transparent and friendly and after dealing with several other AC folks who refused to do certain work or who immediately tried to upsell us, it was a relief to deal with good honest folks who know their stuff. A/C went down Sunday, gave these guys a call and they came out the same day. Wasn't able to fix it Sunday, which was ok.They came out early Monday morning figured out the problem ,which was we we need a new uint. "I know right" .But these guys got us up and running the same day, yes I said the same day! Great customer service, reasonably priced ! Awesome job all the way around...9/24/17 Once again a/c express to the rescue with same-day service as always, fixed our problem with out a hick up. AC Express was very professional and fast. They came out for a service call and told me my blower unit was leaking Freon. They suggested replacement rather than repair. I had another company come out as a "service call" and they said the exact same thing. I ask for a quote to replace the unit from the 2nd company. $6790. Then I called AC Express and they quoted $4800. Ac Express was able to install within days and even replace a switch, not related to the AC, for free because the installer said it looked like it had arced. I would recommend them to anyone with ac/heating issues. read more

Got a couple of quotes to replace a defective, 9 year old Carrier evaporator coil. AC Express came in with the lowest bid. I don't always take the lowest but they impressed me. They recommended a different brand evaporator that was less likely to corrode out, all aluminum. Jesus and Noe came out on time and replaced the unit quickly. Left the house clean. Very professional installation. Top notch service from start to finish. They were recommended by a co-worker who also had a great experience with them, now I'm paying it forward. read more

A/C express is such a life saver!! My a/c went down on such a hot day i have 2 baby girls so this was a big problem! I called and they scheduled me the same day (yay!) and the technician got here quick his name was Freddy he diagnosed the problem quick was very friendly and kind told me he was gunna fix the problem for me and my girls, and did! The service technician, Eric was very professional and explained my options. He was one of the most professional service technicians I have ever experienced and very polite.
