Man, old man... I would never hire these people. Absolute nightmare from start to finish. In fact, the chimney job that we paid for is still not finished and it's been almost a year. When they put the initial chimney in; I thought all was fine until one rainy day... the chimney was leaking water. These people come back out. They don't keep their time or their appointment. They show up hours late and near dark time. They assure me that they can work in the dark and fix the issue. Chimney is crooked, has gaps in it and it's leaking from the chimney on the roof. Has nothing to do with the roof cause I had a brand new roof put on about six months ago. Stay away! Unless you want them to take your money, do a partial job and shine you on and run. I kept getting excuses about how the owner was having medical issues in the hospital with a stroke, etc. Honestly... I have as much compassion as the next person, but this is business and honestly, it's not my problem. DO NOT hire these people. They are sketchy. They do not listen. They do not care about the customer. I will be reporting them to the state, L&I and other agencies as well. BE WARNED! read more

I would give -100 stars if I could. they charged us for a support box that they never installed(only 3 tiny screws holding all the pipes) they used a sealant that wasn't even high temps so it started leaking, would come into contact with the hot chimney and evaporate AKA we were being poisoned bc these guys aren't using the right stuff. and on top of that they used the wrong flashing. awful awful awful. they put my family in danger. if you want to hire them, just make sure they're using the right sealant and make sure theyre charging you for what they say they are and make sure you know exactly what they're doing so you don't put your family or yourself in danger. they gave us our money back but it's awful that they did not care about any of the work. Chris came to our home and gave us a bid . We hired him to come and make repairs to our old chimney. He showed up the next day with his crew, set up scaffolding and went to work right away. Chris suggested using certain materials for our particular chimney which we appreciated. They came prepared with all materials needed to complete the bid. The job was completed as stated in the bid and to our satisfaction. The job could not be finished in one day, so they came back the next day to finish. Most people don't know how to fix a chimney and don't want to go on the roof. The cost of this job was well worth what it cost to not have to go up there. We needed to have a ventilation duct cleaned and its chimney cap altered for better air flow for the boiler. Since we rely on the boiler for hot water and floor heating, we needed the service rather quickly. I contacted several companies, but it was only Chris who was willing to squeeze us in on the same day. If I could give negative stars I would!! Absolute Chimney came out and did some work on our chimney back on February 8, 2018. There is a 3-year warranty guarantee that came with work. I asked Absolute Chimney to come back out and look at the chimney and the work they did 2 years ago because the chimney started leaking again. They came out and looked and said they were never here and this does not look like our work. The receipt I have has an incorrect address that was given to me. However, I have a cancelled check from Absolute Chimney from Feb 8, 2018 that states an employee from Absolute Chimney came here and did the work and cashed our check. This feels like a complete racket that Absolute Chimney is doing to me and probably other customers out there!! read more

I appreciate the fact that Chris answers his calls! They arrived on the date promised. This was probably more difficult than most jobs they do since it was inside the wall, but it was still completed in the same day along with a second job, installing a new exhaust duct for our hot water heater. We were very pleased with how well they kept the dust down. This is very dirty work, don't be deceived, but they tried to keep it down as much as possible. They helped with moving some furniture, laid down drop cloths, put up plastic to seal off the living room where they were working and cleaned up afterwards. Best price we found for doing this job. I can't speak to whether his prices are the lowest, but he doesn't charge a Franklin Mint! Good job, good price, good, hard-working crew. He made sure the job was done to our satisfaction when they completed. (I had to reschedule with him once, Chris was very gracious and accommodating) This is one of the FEW reputable contractors I have dealt with in Washington State. I would never use this company again. I reached out to them to do a chimney cleaning and install roof flashing in November 2020. The day came and no one showed up at the time they designated so I called Chris. He said he'd send a team over shortly. They came and "cleaned" the chimney then some guy came back later that day to do the flashing. The chimney was not properly cleaned. They did not vacuum the hose that can be accessed at the floor of the chimney and runs under the chimney which is standard operating procedure. The hose was completely dirty with soot when I opened it up. I vacuumed it myself. My handyman got up inside the chimney and said they didn't clean 2-3 feet inside the middle of my chimney above the damper which again is standard operating procedure - they are a chimney cleaning company. Absolute installed counter flashing around the bottom of my chimney which was not what I hired them to do. The counter flashing I had on my chimney was perfectly fine. They basically installed counter flashing on top of my already existing counter flashing; therefore, paying for a job I did not even need. I felt taken advantage of. When you are on the roof, you can clearly see the roof flashing (the stuff in between the shingles) needed to be fixed because you can see the metal parts stcicking out under the shingles. I reached out to Chris about the poor job and he said he'd send his team back out. I declined because if you can't do it right the first time, why would I have you come back out? I asked for a 25% discount since I didn't feel I should pay the entire invoice. Chris agreed to refund me 25%, but he never did. I reached out to another chimney company and explained what happened; they said I shouldn't pay anything to the other company and I should dispute the charge with my bank which is what I did. My bank originally sided with me and then requested a follow up response after receiving Absolute's response. I guess my follow up response was not filed on time (which is totally my fault), so my bank sided with them and now I'm out over $1k. Buyer beware. read more

Our chimney needed lots of tuck point repair and a new cap. Our chimney is over 2 stories high and not the easiest to work on. They arrived on schedule, put scaffolding up and by end of the day had the chimney completed with a newly fabricated chimney crown(excellent asthetics). They do excellent work and take great care to clean up and leave the work site looking better than when they got here. Chris is wonderfuf to work with and his hard working crew all did an excellent job. I have a gas chimney that they are going to work on next and will not need to look anywhere else. When I first sent out a request for other bids, Chris was the first one to reach out to me and within a day stopped over to provide me his estimate.
