Jody had been servicing our 25 year old zero clearence gas fireplace for a few years when a tree fell and landed on the top of the chimney and caused damage to the chase, and water got in and finished it off. We talked to Jody about prices for repairing the old fireplace and he explained everything to us. The repairs would have been very costly, and because of the age of the old fireplace, it made sense to replace it instead of repairing it. Jody's estimate costs for replacement and install were very budget friendly and he was able to find a new model that closely fit the opening we had with minimal construction needed. It is a great model with options we needed at a very affordable price. He took care of everything with the construction for the replacement fireplace, and did a fabulous job. He is the BEST! Was able to fit me in last year just before winter started to knock down part of my wobbly, old wood burning chimney, re-point/tuck some of the mortar, convert my old wood burning fireplace to support the new gas one, and finally, install the new gas fireplace. Jody from NW Fireplace Services was very pleasant to work with. I called them because I was concerned about some sooting that was appearing outside the exhaust port of my gas fireplace insert. He was very thorough over the phone in explaining what causes it and what kinds of things to look for. They recommended an insert after telling me they don't make my fireplace anymore. So I went with it. They let me know what I needed beforehand as they came to inspect what I had. It wasn't much, my son took care of it. They sent me a date range to pick installation, I did and they reminded me and showed up on time. It was a process to get it installed, but once installed I have been in heaven since. It warms up the room so well, we haven't used the blower yet. It adds to the beauty of the room, and every time it's on I find my two pets close.
