The HOA scheduled the cleaning and inspection for 12/17. The serviceman met with my husband and was in and out of our living room after looking at the chimney and answering questions in less than 10 minutes. There were no issues. Over a year ago I contacted the Chimney Specialists for help with a leak coming through my chimney. They responded and found my chimney caps were in need of replacement. They replaced them, but leaking continued. I called them back a second time and they responded promptly without question. They inspected the caps and double caulked them. However leaking continued. This is more than a year later. I recalled them a third time and, again, they responded without question. They reinspected the caps and assured me they were fine. I guess I misunderstood what I was signing up for? The techs were friendly and efficient but what I read online researching made me think they were actually going to clean the chimney and fireplace. Instead they shopvac'd the fireplace and inspected the chimney. They were here for 20 minutes for $200. Apparently my fireplace needs $1,400 in fixes. I guess this is my bad, I don't know much about fireplaces or chimneys... I'm disappointed but it's probably not their fault. I had a great experience with Lenny at the Chimney Specialists. I reached out because I had a family member whose chimney needed both an inspection and a cleaning. The support/scheduling staff at the Chimney Specialists reached out right away to schedule the site visit, and had what I believe to be a very reasonable price for both the cleaning and inspection. Even better, my family member explained that Lenny was great in explaining exactly what the situation was with the chimney, what might need fixing now, and, importantly, what might need fixing down the road (in other words, he was not using high-pressure sales tactics). He was both patient and clear with his explanations, and he also offered some nice insight on what to fix and how to fix it. More specifically, in the case of my family member, the previous owner of the home appeared to have painted certain areas of the chimney that really should not have been painted. Lenny had some helpful insight on what problems that might cause, and how to address those issues. Moreover, Lenny had some great tips about putting in a specific kind of floor covering right in front of the chimney on the carpet (may seem simple, but that was a nice tip that will likely save the carpet from damage if the occasional ember got out). My family member was very happy that I had recommended their services , which in turn were recommended to me by a word-of-mouth referral. I think there is a reason why the Chimney Specialists have such a high rating on Yelp. Both their scheduling team and Lenny were very professional, quick, and reasonably priced. These guys are the best. First of all, they leave their vacuum outside. I've never had that happen before, and I've burned wood or pellets for 50 years. They knew how to access the flue, and they're the first in the last 5 years to get to it without damage. Put on a new cap to replace the one damaged in the storm, cleaned up my pellet stove and swept the chimney, all without leaving any soot anywhere. Honestly, I was dreading having our chimney cleaned and inspected. We have a HUGE complicated "Russian" fireplace. My husband likes to burn paper in it. We have not had it cleaned in many years. I contacted Chimney Specialists because I had a smoke fire inside my home. Jackie did not disclose to me a charge $271.15 to come to my resident. I would not have agreed and moved on, never allowed Kyle on my property. Then he gave me an flimsy estimate was not thorough. The fireplaces were clean 2 weeks before the house fire that cause smoke damage, no fireplace fire ever happen as claim by them. verity by other estimate for insurance company require three estimates. These guys just came to check out an alarming-looking crack in an unused chimney. They reassured me that it was only superficial, and recommended that I fill in some silicone to prevent moisture getting in and making it worse. REALLY happy with these guys. Collin and Brent were amazing - I've been putting off having my fireplace inspected (and consequently nearly froze to death in that big snowstorm a few years back) because I was terrified of what I'd find up there. The former owners of my home weren't exactly tender and loving with it, so I was worried they might have stuffed a raccoon or something up there. Imagine my surprise when Collin came in, said hello, laid down a tarp, stuck his head up the fireplace and said "everything looks great". I asked him to repeat himself, because I couldn't believe it. Collin explained everything (the inspection process and what they were looking for) and then answered all my questions (all three bazillion of them... because I have never had a fireplace before and images of my house going up in flames have been firmly planted in my head ever since the home inspector said "get it inspected by a certified specialist") before also measuring for new screens (ours are completely broken - though not by us. Thanks, former owners!) Brent was very friendly as well, though I saw less of him because he was the roof guy. Overall I'm really pleased and would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone.
