Yet after dealing with the employees and mechanics I finally let that practice go, they offered better suggestions and it's been worth the parts markup. The office gives the mechanics autonomy to openly discuss the issues and suggestions which is a big plus for me. I have used multiple shops across all of DFW, believing the next one was the most honest and knowledgeable, but Star 1 has earned that title. I can attest to their quality from my interactions with multiple shops serving multiple auto brands; Audi (A4), Volvo (S60), Acura (TL), Mercedes Benz (ML), and GMC (Yukon). Currently I'm in the process of modifying a suspension that was misdiagnosed from a previous shop. Originally I replaced the magna ride (airbag suspension) in my 2015 Yukon Denali to conventional gas strut suspension, but the original conversion was fitted with inaccurate parts even though the parts manufacturers attested to the proper fit. The Star 1 mechanics identified the proper aftermarket parts that increased ride quality and provided a front and rear leveled look. Basically the lack of knowledge between myself, my previous mechanic, and the internet resulted in improper fits and caused other components to wear out. Star 1 has addressed the replacement in a way that fits my best interest, it has never been just a money grab. I can add more positives but it would multiple paragraphs. If you use them I am confident you'll arrive with the same experience as myself.

I went there as they gave free estimates, unlike dealerships that charge want $100 deposit just to look at your vehicle. My only complaint is that although the part ordered was guaranteed, the labor to replace the faulty part was not guaranteed. So instead of paying another $100, (in addition to the $400 already paid,) I opted to try to fix the issue on my own, (a car seat that was installed moldy and rusted.) Again, nice family-run business, but as a small business they maybe can't afford the same guarantees as bigger companies.

The leasing agent I worked with was honestly one of the least communicative people I have ever dealt with. I would respond to her emails or messages and then wait DAYS to receive a response. When I finally did hear back, I still couldn't get clear answers about the actual terms of the approval. I was told that my application had been approved, then asked for a down payment. After that, I was repeatedly told that I needed "more" of a down payment, but no one would clearly explain exactly how much was required or what the actual terms of the approval were. How are you supposed to make an informed financial decision when you can't even get basic information about the deal? What made it even worse was that getting an answer to any of these questions could take days. I work in customer service, so I understand that people get busy and responses aren't always immediate. But communication is one of the most basic parts of doing business, especially when you are dealing with something as significant as financing a vehicle. There is a major difference between being busy and simply failing to communicate with a customer. The entire process felt like a waste of my time. It was poorly communicated, unnecessarily confusing, and left a very bad taste in my mouth regarding Fair Lease as a company. I genuinely hope other customers have a better experience than I did, but based on my experience, I would not recommend Fair Lease.

Good: Trustworthy Bad: N/A…read moreOverall: My default car repair company My vehicle started making a terrible grinding sound that made me concerned I may do damage if I continued driving it. I called a few places to get an idea of a quote for what I thought was likely the cause. The dealer gave a quote that was significantly higher than Integrity. I expected this but it really was surprising how much more. Another repair shop wouldn't even venture a guess, despite my acknowledgement that without seeing it, any suggestion was based on a lot of assumptions that could be wrong. I had my vehicle towed to the shop right before a snow storm was forecasted. They told me it would likely be looked at after the storm passed, but they were able to look at it the same day. They found that I made a mistake I made that cause a bolt to come loose. This was the cause of the noise. They charged me for a bolt and 30 minutes of work. They could have easily made the repair I expected with a significantly higher cost. They called to explain what they found and tell me it was ready. I cannot speak to cost because my resolution was so easy it didn't require long to fix. However the honesty they displayed impressed me. This shop is now a place I will visit when I need help. The complexity of issues I may face with my vehicle means that I could be fleeced, but they earned my trust.
