I have now ordered Abo's pizza a few times, mostly because of friends, but this is the worst pizza in town. No taste, under-cooked crust, skimpy ingredients, etc. Not sure why anyone would pay money for this stuff. Ok pizza. Have ordered from here about 5 or 6 times since moving to Boulder, but won't be coming back after today's visit. Usually I get a 1 topping pizza delivered from them (comes to about $19) when I don't have time to head out to Anthony's in Longmont. Delivery has always been smooth and fairly quick, upon which I usually tip the guy $5. Today I decided to pick up myself on the way home. Since I was just picking up, I left a $2 tip on a $19 pizza. Upon leaving the tip, the tall brunette who accepted my payment told me to enjoy the pizza, but with a funny vibe to it. I didn't think much of it. When I'm opening the door to leave the place, I can overhear her talking to the other co-workers saying sarcastically "Woo hoo, $2! What am I gonna do with this?!" I guess my tip offended her? When I scooped ice cream at my first job I don't remember being as dramatic as she was based on customer's tips. Abo's on Iris, I was a regular since you provided a quick delivery for an OK pizza at a fair price when I'm low on time for other options. But today you lost a customer from the poor and unprofessional customer service. From here on out I'll stick with Cosmo's in Boulder or Anthony's pizza in Longmont (the best in the area for NYC style pizza, and they have wings). read more

Tony. Tony is the worst thing about Abo's. He was the absolute worst person I've ever dealt with. Not only did he tell me I ordered the wrong pizza when it arrived, he refused to make it right. Its a struggle to find good pizza in CO. Abo's is my top choice for take-out pizza, with a fluffy end crust, garlicky red sauce, and my favorite toppings. Its a little pricey, so always use the coupons they give you taped to your previous order or find the coupon online. read more

Abo's Pizza is very decent and as a former New Yorker, I think it holds up to New York pizza pretty well. We often order delivery from Abo's and I have to say that I really wish that they would get a few more delivery people on staff because sometimes it takes over an hour to get a pizza delivered and in some cases, we've had to cancel our order because they say it will take over two hours. In a town like Boulder, where there are so few delivery options (again, former New Yorker talking here!), it would be great to know that this was a for-sure thing. My second time eating their pizza and both times it has been disappointing. Why bother to even put sauce on at all? Being that this is not the east coast it's not really fair to compare pizza places out here to pizza places there. I think this particular Abo's is the closest I've found but there is one thing that could really put them over the edge. Their sauce and ingredients have good flavor, their crust has just enough substance, BUT, it's flavorless. I think if Abo's cooked their pizza in a brick oven it would be perfect. Yum yum yum! Love this thin crust, big-sliced (NY-style?) pizza! Bending it in half and seeing all the juicy-deliciousness spill all over is just the best. The down side is that they don't deliver- and whenever we call our order in and arrived at the specified time- the pizza is just a bit colder than I'd like by the time we get it home. It's worth going to pick-up when in a pinch, though. read more

The pizza dough is consistently raw. They never leave it in the oven long enough, even when asked to make is "crispy". I managed a pizza place for years and I'm very familiar with a pizza oven and what it takes to make a good pizza. Pizza was good, but it's expensive, and the "customer service" made the experience unpleasant. I ordered online and the pizza arrived with a mistake; when we called to complain, we were basically dismissed, being told it was a "problem with the online system," and they didn't control it. I did ask to speak to a manager and was dismissed with the same excuse; she acted irritated to have to speak to me and blamed any problem on, again, the online system. She also basically blamed the problem on the fact that Abo's was a "chain." She grudgingly gave me a gift certificate; based on this experience, I don't want it. read more

I am totally shocked at our experience with Abos Pizza in North Boulder on Iris. I ordered a large pizza to be delivered and they quoted me 45 minutes on the phone. An hour and a half later, I called them to check on timing and to see if the driver was lost. They couldn't be bothered!!! The manager said it was "out of their hands" and that he had left a while ago. Two calls later, they finally called their delivery driver who said he was stuck in traffic (I live 5 miles away) and that it would take another half hour. A total of 2 hours, and they were so bothered to have to tell us this at all! (The manager, under her breath said the driver actually he had to deliver 3 other pizzas first.) So the lied, kept lying and were incredibly rude about it! The price of the pizza was so high as it was! We ordered black jack and it was half the price and delivered in half the time. I have never experience such a lack of care of worse customer service in my life! I can't believe they stay in business in this economy! I have filled a complaint at the Better Business Bureau. read more

We ordered two pizzas. They took over 90 minutes to arrive. The delivery driver lied about trying to call us to find our place, and offered some advice about how we should keep up our house, and even then, tried to give us the wrong pizza. And of course the pizzas were cold. He didn't apologize for any of his mistakes. (If you can't even be a pizza delivery guy, you should probably just give up on having a career of any kind.) After 5 times, hoping it would get better, I won't be going back. The pizza is ok, although the sauce is a little bland. When I called ahead and asked if i could show the online coupon on my phone, rather than waste paper, they said no. For a business located in Boulder, it doesn't seem very eco-friendly. Historically this has been my favorite neighborhood pizza joint. My kids might like eating "junk pizza," but they know if mom is going to be eating pizza with them, it's Abo's. I've been ordering delivery for 8 years and until recently it was consistently delicious. Sadly, the last two times I've ordered here, the pizza has been inedible. The first time I received a seriously under-cooked pizza. It was a soggy, soupy cheesy mush. I called to let them know, and also to get advice as too how I should attempt to finish cooking it. Given my positive history with the place, I simply gave them the benefit of the doubt, and didn't bother asking for another pizza. I put it in my own oven but was unable to finish cooking it properly, it was simply too mushy. I ate a slice and threw the rest out. I figured in 8 years, one bad pizza was not a problem. About three weeks later I ordered another pizza, not even considering it would be anything other than delicious. From the minute I opened the box it just didn't smell right; sort of like cheese that sits in the fridge for too long, and is likely still edible, but musty and funky nonetheless. In spite of the smell, I took a bite, but immediately spit it out. I don't think anything had "gone bad," it just tasted old. I called right away to let management know. I originally asked for another pizza, but after initially being told that was not possible, I let it go. Life is short, and this is only one pizza. The manager later offered a store credit, which is fair enough, but I'm not chomping at the bit to use it. Two negative experiences amidst 8 years of quality pizza is a pretty good track record for any pizza joint, but I can't help but wonder if there have been recent behind the scenes changes at Abo's. At any rate, when it's good, it's delicious, but nothing is more depressing than a bad pizza at the end of a long day. read more

Just ordered a pizza from Abo's and asked for half onion/mushrooms and half plain. They delivered a pizza that was all onion/mushroom. I called back just to provide feedback and the manager himself delivered a free cheese pie and even refused a tip for delivery! The best pizza in Boulder just got better. read more

I think Abos is great. I eat at the one in Boulder almost every day. My family and I eat at this one in Broomfield regularly. It's classic New York style thin crust pizza. You can order by the slice or get a whole pie. The slices are huge by the way. read more

This pizza has changed over the past few years. Used to be super thin crust, ny style pizza, but the past couple of times the Crust has been much thicker and not nearly as delicious. The toppings are still tasty, but i won't be returning until the crust is thin again. read more

Since it was stormy last night, I decided to do something different -- have pizza delivered instead of picking it up from a nearby Italian restaurant. I ordered from Abo's North Boulder, which is about two miles from my house. Delivery took about an hour, instead of the 35-40 minutes I was told on the phone. (I was about to call and cancel the order when the doorbell rang.) The pizza was lukewarm and the quality was just ordinary. It wasn't worth the wait or the cost. read more
