After experiencing a slab leak we contacted our homeowners insurance. they verify the damage to our walls, cabinets and floor in our kitchen area. Our insurance company got things in motion. They contacted ABG Construction and Restoration and they did not loose any time. By the next day ABG had one of their employee to begin measuring and assessing our damage. We are very satisfied with ABG's professional remodeling work for our house. We did not have damage, it was just an old rental that we wanted to fix up. They did a great job and are trustworthy, transparent, honest, and upfront all around from the CEO, Mike, to our project manager, Daniel, and tradespeople, helpers, subcontractors, etc. etc. This is a well-run operation with decades of experience with the same CEO. This is NOT a contractor that is disorganized, inexperienced, lacking long-standing connections to subs, or struggling with funding for finishing projects! It took us over six months to find ABG, which *normally gets business through word of mouth.* Most GCs were not interested in our project. Our budget was limited. We were very prepared with plans in hand and a structural engineer already. We also had bad experiences with other GCs so we were very critical. We also followed the free and paid advice of "Undercover Architect," which was an invaluable resource to us and involved a lot of preparation work and time on our part before we even started contacting GCs. We interviewed several GCs and did reference checks. This was all a ton of work and time. Then, at the last minute, a relative's neighbor recommended ABG. We toured this neighbors house. ABG's work looked great, of course and importantly, they had nothing but great things to say about ABG. And that neighbor is no schmuck! We also knew ABG also worked fast with a large crew, completing the neighbor's very large project in an extra ordinary short amount of time. So I contacted ABG after narrowing the field to two other contractors that we solicited bids from. Mike did the estimate. ABG's contract was straightforward but also very detailed and straightforward with the costs involved. I also did reference checks of course, where the three recent and current clients I contacted said nothing but praise as well for ABG. Over the course of the project, the work was completed very well in a timely fashion with no big $urpirse$. There were of course disagreements and concerns we raised about this or that, but it was all resolved in a professional and mutually beneficial way. These folks are honest! They were fast on completing repairs/upgrades, always punctual, and work very hard to provide quality service. They have very hard workers that take pride in their work. Have you ever had a difficulty getting a contractor. Especially them not calling you back or not coming back out to do work after getting your deposit? Well we needed to fire our original contractor to get the rest of our kitchen finished after remediation. Mike was super responsive and quick to turn around. ABG construction saved us not only once, but twice now. Our sunken dining room flooded in October. ABG had their crew out right away repairing drywall, painting and replacing the flooring. My home looked amazing after they left. Unfortunately, one of the rooms they had just done paint and flooring in flooded two months later. I was crushed. My beautiful new floors had to be pulled up in that room and the freshly painted walls had to be torn out. I told my insurance company that I wanted the same contractor's that I had previously had. I was recommended to use this company by my insurance company when I had to get some re work done. In the beginning they were helpful and responsive however they didn't send a project manager out to get a scope of the work. It was done through texts and pictures. I had to act as the project manager , tell them what I needed and when to send each professional out. Their painter was very nice however if ABG couldn't get their drywall guy out , they would ask their painter to do the job! It wasn't until the very end of the project when the contract manager arrived to have me sign off on the job as completed and fulfilled. This is our second house/ projects with ABG. I can't say enough good things about them. They worked extremely hard and always wanted to make my family happy(my dog loves them!)! They listened to me and truly let us be a part of the project. This review is overdue. We did a pretty big remodel on our 1950's home. Kitchen, Laundry room, flooring, windows, stucco. From the beginning, with Mike, the owner, the planning was thorough. There were some miscommunications (or no communication) between some of ABG's subcontractors that could have been avoided. In late Feb. 2022, we had a water pipe burst under our kitchen sink in our mobile home. The damage was significant and after water mitigation, our kitchen was gutted. Everything, cabinets, flooring, appliances, drywall, insulation inside our walls and under the home...even the kitchen sink had to be removed. While our homeowners insurance would cover the damage, we still had to find a contractor. We contacted many contractors who gave us the run around or wouldn't quote us without signing a contract first and "they would work with our insurance". The water mitigation company we used, Dry Pro's (another excellent company), suggested ABG Construction. President Mike Antimie came out and assessed the damage and restoration costs. His quote was quick and right on target. Other contractors who did quote, ended up 30% higher than ABG Construction. ABG's quote was more than the insurance adjuster was claiming the cost would be. ABG's quote was very open and transparent. Mike at ABG worked with our insurance agent and provided a clear picture of what the actual restoration would cost. The insurance adjuster came back out and agreed. As soon as the insurance issued a check, the ABG Construction team was at our home. They knew exactly how to priority schedule the work that needed to be done. Each ABG sub-contractor was on time, professional, accommodating, and used quality materials. I am an aerospace Facilities Director and Production Manager. I watched every detail from scheduling, work efficiency, materials, processes and ABG didn't miss a beat. No corners cut. Fast yet consistent and accurate work. ABG has a showroom locally. Their designer Elena worked with us, provided us great ideas and solutions as well as 3D drawings. We did mostly cosmetic stuff such as paint and flooring, crown molding, baseboard, etc. The big ticket was refinishing our 30 year old Oakwood kitchen cabinets. The original contractor that was suppose to help us said he can find my floors (laminate) in 3 days but 1 week passed and no update. Finally after multiple calls, he texted back that he cannot help me because he could not find my floors.
