I had a security system installed in my house 25 years ago and it needed upgrading. I contacted ABEC Security, and within two days of my call Sean with ABEC was at my house inspecting the system. He provided me with several options including a hybrid system that involves both wireless and hard wired contacts. The price was reasonable compared to other outfits, he was fast, and incredibly conscientious in terms of responsiveness. He taught me about things the new system could do, like call my cell phone to tell me when the system goes off, and provided me with a portable key fob that I could use to activate or disarm the system. Simply, Sean is a really nice guy, and very easy to work with. If I had a chance to do it all over again, I would again choose ABEC security. read more

I am writing this to warn all unsuspecting people not to get trapped by these idiots. I am new to the area, recently purchased a home. I hired several local contractors for services. I hired ABEC electronics to mount my two flat screen TV's and install a security system with camera. Here are the events as they transpired. The 1st order was to move my 2 TV's from the apartment to the house and mount them. I wanted a 3rd TV for my office in the house. I told them I wanted Sony, they quoted a price I thought was competitive. They sold me a discontinued model that I have since replaced. They left all of my connecting cords from Apple TV and Blue Ray player at the apartment after I had turned the keys in. I had to buy new cords for both. The installation of the alarm system was a complete fiasco. They sent a new employee on his first day at work. He had no idea what he was doing. The installation took 3 hours longer than scheduled. In their alarm plan they DO NOT protect the windows. I was in mid installation before I realized, I had a lot going on at the time. The camera has never worked properly, the mobile app is horrible. The monitoring had a fee of $35 per month for which I supplied a debit card. The system was triggered while I was away and there was NO monitoring call. The alarm was blaring for some time according to my neighbor. No call from anyone. The worst of the dealings came 3 days before Christmas after they had already debited there $35 fee. I noticed they had taken an additional $269 from my checking account. This charge was completely unwarranted and unauthorized. When questioned, they lied about how the charge happened. It was well after Christmas before my money was returned. There are rumors of some drug situations, I don't know how true they are. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE CREDIT CARD INFO - CALL ADT FOR ALARMS. This is an update/correction to my earlier review in which I ripped ABEC, but shows me as from Vacaville, CA?! In any event, I finally got my new computer and ABEC's folks did a great job with it. I still think they take too long and need some better internal communication, but they definitely are really nice people and when they do get to the work, it is very well done. You may just have to keep on top of them if you need something in a relative hurry. read more

This place is a sham. Brought in a CD player knowing that the laser was broken. I told the guy at the counter about the faulty laser and he said they would look at it. I paid the $35 dollar diagnostic fee for them to look at it. It took 7 business days for them to finally look at it. Their conclusion was that the laser was broken (exactly what I told them initially) and they couldn't do anything. Then when I went to pick it up two days later, they didn't even have it in the shop. They said some employee hadn't re-assembled it yet and to come back the next week. In total this will have taken 2 weeks to resolve. Despite not doing any real work, and telling me that the laser was broken (which I knew), they wouldn't refund my $35 dollars. Terrible customer service, terrible work. Really nice people face-to-face, but after a month I am still waiting for my new Dell computer to be ready with data transferred from the old virus-infected computer and each time I inquire about it, the reason why it's not ready changes. Seems to be no redundancy in the staffing -- I.e. If one person starts on your project and then doesn't work for awhile, your project just sits -- and not a whole lot of internal communication. I had some of the worst service here a while ago. I bought a piece of equipment after I told them what I needed and took it home and a few days later I tried to install it and it wouldn't work correctly. I called them and told them again what I was trying to do and they said I have the wrong one and I asked if I could return it and get a different one. They said since it was a sensitive piece of equipement the return policy was 3 days and I couldn't return it even though they told me the wrong one to buy. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I had a laptop with a broken hinge between the monitor and the case. They fixed it (supposedly) and I paid $140. Got it home, used it twice...could tell it was breaking again so texted them immediately. When I got it back to them, they then told me the entire bottom case was no longer able to support/hold the hinge mechanism. WHYYYYYYY wasn't this told to me in the first place? They literally stole my $140 for a job that was unsatisfactory and didn't repair the problem. They advised a new case was costly enough that I decided to not repair it. When I picked it up from them after the second time back, the OTHER hinge was now broken (was not broken when I took it in) and pieces were falling out as they handed it to me With the lid opened, advising the lid could no longer close. I've already told everyone what a horrible experience it was. I hope it's worth it to them, they've lost my business as well as the dollars from two others I know who have issues and were going to call them. Find someone else if you value your equipment, time and hard earned dollars! The technological capabilities are sub par and the customer service was sorely lacking. read more
