Used to be a great company. It appears changes in management has caused this company's high standard of business to drop tremendously.

This has been one of the worst companies I've ever worked with. I am a first time home owner and…read moreonly signed with Vivint because they were the first ones to knock on my door... and I didn't do my homework. 3 days after the installation, I decided I didn't like it and wanted to cancel my service. My sales associate told me "you can cancel at anytime", so I took that at face value. When I called to cancel, however, I was told that I "missed the 3 day cutoff by 4 hours and was no longer able to cancel until your equipment is paid off". This month marks one year that I've been a Vivint customer. Within this year, the equipment has failed, had a short, quit working, etc, etc and a tech has been to my house 6 times. Take note that all 6 of these visits have been free of charge. I returned yesterday from a month long military class out of state and discovered that my front door sensor was broken. I called today to schedule a technician to come fix it, only to be told that I had 2 options- I could either troubleshoot it and fix it myself, or pay $99 for a technician to come to my home. I am not an electrical engineer-and if the equipment messes up after I have "fixed" it, it will be my responsibility not the company's- nor do I get a paycheck from Vivint. Therefore, I will not do the job of a Vivint employee. That knocks option 1 out. As I stated above, all of the other tech visits that I've requested within this past year have been at no charge. Now all of a sudden, it costs $99 for someone to fix a piece of equipment that is literally broken and causes my sensor to no longer work (yet I'm still paying for). I understand that companies change their policies, but MOST OF THE TIME companies will alert their customers when that happens. Also, when I kept questioning the customer service representative that I spoke to how long Vivint has had this policy, her answer was "This has been the company's policy since I've been with them." I also asked how long she had been with the company and never got an answer. So therefore, my home is unsecured, yet I'm paying $2,500+ for equipment that does not work and the company will not score fix it if I don't pay an extra $99. If Vivint can tell me how this practice is good customer service, I'll gladly listen. But they haven't been able to, nor are they willing to. I cannot wait to pay off the balance on the equipment that does not work so that I can supposedly cancel my contract with them! I am actively researching other security companies and will gladly change my service when I'm able to.

These door to door salesman are aggressive. I wanted to hear him out and what Vivant had to offer…read moreand well their system is garbage. Just stick with Ring, blink and literally any other security system. The best security is a good ol shotgun.

I hate to leave less than five stars, but I feel tricked by the salesman 'Will' from Vector. The…read moresecurity system was installed three weeks ago, and their system had a couple of kinks but works ok now. However, today I reviewed my credit report and saw they had done a hard credit check on me. Will never told me they were doing a hard credit check, and I'm in the process of buying a new house. Anything that lowers my credit score upsets me. I had no idea someone could do a credit check on you without your social security number because they have never been given my social. The installer was excellent, and I feel he was far more upfront than Will was. And I've also sent Will text messages about equipment not working, etc. He never responded. The installer responded almost immediately because he left me his personal contact information and said if I ever have any problems, it's easier to contact than any salespeople. I guess once the sale's representatives get you signed up, then you're history to them or Will anyway.

If you buy this alarm system, you will never know peace again. Not sure why I don't see more…read morereviews talking about this. We've had Vector security for at least a decade, but in the last few years something has changed in our alarm system. If any alarm component is not in perfectly working order, the entire system beeps loudly. EVERY 30 seconds. Indefinitely. You can silence it, but only for 4 hours (this is not a full night of sleep). This sounds like it would keep you safe, except that it beeps whether the alarm is on or not. There are, I would estimate, 70 components to the alarm, and if you even brush the cap of one of them, the beeping starts. The machine will tell you that one of the 4 (or any number) of windows (or anything else) is the problem in a given room, but you have to trial and error which one it is. Some of the equipment will require that vector security come out to fix it, and the beeping will not stop while you wait for that appointment. I've explained to at least 5 vector security employees in various positions that this is a form of torture and no one has seemed even remotely surprised that this is how it works. I've asked them to shut off the alarm system, and they have refused. They require a month's notice for official termination. This alarm system has added significant stress and burden to my life. Do not buy it!!!
