He knows the menu, he knows the history, and has amazing stories to share with everyone. Great guy. A lot of people there that night seemed to be celebrating something. The noise was a bit loud that I felt I had to almost yell to have a conversation with my husband. But the vibe was great. I enjoyed looking around at the decor. We ordered: - TRUFFLE FRIES for appetizers - I loved everything about it. haha. Tastey! - linguine & clams - I ordered this. It was good. However, I felt it was way oily. And after every bite I took, I had to wipe my mouth. And I accidentally spilled oil on my shirt. - PASTA ALLA CARBONE with steak - My husband enjoyed it and started to get full towards clearing out his bowl haha. - SCALLOPED POTATOES - I ordered a side of this. Definitely was not expecting to look the way it did, but I thought the presentation was beautiful. It was good; however, I was not a fan at how crunchy and hard the top first layer was. In a few areas, it was almost burnt. But I thought it was pretty good without the need for a type of sauce on the side. - For drinks, I had to Summer sangria and my husband had the Rumble in the Jungle. We enjoyed it. Definitely hit the spot. No complaints at all about these drinks. - And Kevin surprised us with a dessert to celebrate : Cranberry Bread Pudding. This was delicious. Very flavorful. I am not really into Cranberry, but this is definitely an exception. Loved the fruits on the side as well. The Hideout Kitchen will always have a place in our hearts. We will definitely come back. The pork belly had a crust that was nearly impossible to bite through, so I had to cut it off with a knife, leaving a thin layer of fat. The flavor was underwhelming as well. The blue cheese wedge salad had an unusual flavor that neither my wife nor I enjoyed, and we left most of it. Honestly, even Outback does a better job with their wedge salad. The Parmesan fries were the one standout. The beer selection was quite limited, although they did have a Dustbowl Taco Truck, which is a nice option. A few more beer choices would have been appreciated. On a positive note, Kary provided good service, and we appreciated her attentiveness. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience, and with so many great restaurants in town, I'm not sure we'd return. I ordered the Mexican scramble and it was pretty good. I will say it could have used some more seasonings and sabor especially for being a Mexican scramble. Mmm and how bout some cotija?? And my friend and I decided to share the Biscoff pancake. OMG. Listen. I woke up Sunday morning legitimately wondering if they would remember me if I came back two days in a row because I wanted that damn pancake again. It was THAT good. And this is coming from someone who doesn't even really like super sweet breakfast foods or Biscoff for that matter. Fluffy pancake, Biscoff drizzle, cookie crumbles, fruit, butter, syrup on the side... whewww. I'ma need another one this week. My only minor annoyance was the waitlist situation. I put our name down and was told about 10 minutes (they dont take reservations), so we walked around the shops next door. I gave them my phone number AND corrected/confirmed it twice, plus I received the initial text verifying I was on the waitlist. After about 15 minutes with no call or text, I finally walked back over to check. The hostess said, "Oh, we called you." Girl... where?! No missed call, no text, nothing. Thankfully I checked back in instead of continuing to browse. Once we were seated though, everything was great. Our server was hella funny and had us cracking up; especially when my friend ordered a scramble and then started asking how the eggs would be cooked and whether it even came with eggs. Sir was basically like... ma'am, you ordered a SCRAMBLE. LMAOOOO The whole vibe was on point. Music was perfect, decor was fun, everything was clean, and it actually felt like you were hanging out at a Breakfast Club. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised to find this vibe in Lafayette. The area needed a little unstuffing and The Breakfast Club understood the assignment. I'll definitely be back, mainly because that Biscoff pancake and I have unfinished business!

I got a vegan ceasar which was great, but probably too much dressing. My fiancé got a pork quesadilla that he absolutely loved. He was a very very big fan of the salad on top and said it played a huge role in making the dish cohesive and feel much lighter. I also tried the corn pasta which was delicious. It's a pleasant place to sit and talk without feeling rushed. A few tips if you're heading over: get there early for the best seats, and street parking out front is free until 10am. After that you're hunting. Kitchen closes at 2pm, so plan accordingly. I've only ever come for the morning routine, but they've got a full bar with craft cocktails, draft beer from local breweries like Fieldwork and Altamont, and wine by the glass. Had a couple people order bottomless mimosas and they did not have to flag anyone down because their cups were almost always full. Coffee-drinks were delicious. Service 5/5. Refills were plentiful.
