We don't really have these in metro Portland, so it's a nice treat once in a while to get a large and save the extra for breakfast. the seating area was totally empty less one other single guest. Its a large restaurant with plenty of seating for large groups. all of the table except for a couple are arranged in long rows. Was staying the night in Otter Rock and needed a quick bite. Looked at the good reviews and ordered a few things. The food reached our hotel lobby before we did. The receptionist seemed kinda unwilling to give me my delicious smelling pizzas :D Both the pizzas I ordered were tasty with generous toppings. First time visiting this Abby's location. We usually go to the Florence location, but this one was closer during this trip on the Oregon coast. Looks and feels like a typical Abby's Legendary Pizza. Brick building, lots of long tables and chairs, viewing window where you can watch them make your pizza, and order up at the counter and they call your name when your pizza is ready. Not sure if it's typical for this location, but the service today was SUPER slow!!! We came in around 11:30 on a Wednesday. Not very busy, maybe 3 customers. I walked up to the counter to order and nobody there. I could only see one employee behind the counter, but she was in the middle of making a pizza. Finally about 7 minutes later someone came out from a backroom. There were 3 employees back there. I think 2 of them were training somebody. Not completely sure. The employees were friendly enough, but it took over 30 minutes to get our pizza! There's no way you could come here on a lunch hour and get out of here timely. The pizza was really good, but the wait was very frustrating. We may give this location another try. We're hoping it was a one-off situation today. read more

Went here for a lunch date with my kid and husband. We each had our own personal pizzas. It was legendary to say the least. Cafeteria style seating with some games to play while you wait for your food. Keeps the kids entertained. Lunch special was reasonably priced and definately filled us up! Will be back. read more

Gluten and dairy free review: Gluten free: yes Dairy free: no I'm gunna tell you about our recent experience at Abby's Leonardo's Pizza in Newport, OR. When we walked in, we was greeted by a lovely gal at the front who was so nice. She was very knowledgeable about the gluten free. I ordered a gluten free 10-inch (the only size they have gluten free) cheese pizza with olive oil, artichoke hearts, and black olives. You know, because I'm fancy like that. It cost me 18 bucks and some change, which made me re-evaluate my life choices while eating out . I mean, for that price, I expected the pizza to come with a side of a financial advisor. When it arrived the edges were burnt. I gave it a solid 3 1/2 out of 5. It was good, but for that price, I thought it should've been a little more non burnt and a hint bigger for the extra it cost. Still glad to have it though! My daughter decided to go for the gluten-free taco pizza without cheese (no non dairy which is fine) and here's the kicker: they were super kind and let us know that the seasoning wasn't gluten-free. So, we decided to leave it off. The crust was also burnt. She gave it a 3 1/2 out of 5. She says the tomatoes weren't that fresh. Her pizza was 22 dollars and some change. That one kind of hurt. The atmosphere was chill. Easy parking, not too busy, and they had some games for a dollar a pop. Overall, I'd say Abby's Leonardo's is not too bad of a spot for gluten free. We have an Abby's pizza problem. I don't want to even tell you how many times we have ordered pizza from them in the 6 weeks we have been in the area. It is just really good. After 20+ sad years in Portland with Dominos or Bellagio's as our primary delivery option, we like Abby's thin crust, the piles of toppings, and the sauce. We have tried Hawaiian, Sausage and Mushroom, Pepperoni with half mushroom and half black olives. All have been good. We also had BBQ wings, Caesar Salad,garlic breadsticks with marinara, and cinnamon knots.Those were all good too. The only hiccup we have had is that one time we ordered a Greek salad and got a Caesar by mistake. Abby's gets very busy and sometimes it is easier to just go get it, plan accordingly. So. Dang. Disappointing. We went in to Abby's in Newport tonight for dinner with the understanding that a Saturday night would be busy. Our plan was to enjoy fresh hot pizza straight out of the oven. Considering it cost $50 for a large pizza and 2 fountain drinks... you'd hope that it was good. We waited in excess of an hour for our large deep dish Abby's special. During that time, not a single table in the dining room was cleaned. When our pizza FINALLY came out, it sat on the landing end of the oven for several minutes then on the cutting table for several minutes more. Needless to say our pizza was not hot or particularly good. Certainly not worth the drive, the wait- absolutely not worth $50. Abby's "Legendary" Pizza is just that. A legend. read more

Sunday night in Newport. Need food delivered and Door Dash offers up Abby's Legendary Pizza with just a 35 minute delivery time. Although the prices seemed high, we were willing to try since it was a reasonable delivery time. BUT. The driver messaged us at the estimated delivery time and said he was waiting for our order. He messaged several times while he was waiting, then 40 minutes later when he finally left with our order. Was the pizza phenomenal and worth the wait? It was not. The wings were okay. I've been coming to Izzy's pizza in Newport for many years. While I've never considered it a great place, I've enjoyed getting a pizza from them many of the times I've visited Newport. This time was kind of the last straw though... I walked up to the counter, no acknowledgement that I was there. I picked up a menu and spent 10min looking at it and decided what I wanted. Still no acknowlegement I was there. It was bizarre, staff would walk towards me, make real sure not to make eye contact, then wheel around and walk the other way. Our favorite is the Taco Pizza, they do Taco Pizza the way it should be. The flavors and ingredients are amazing. The crust is absolutely phenomenal, our favorite Pizza Crust on the coast by far. The service is great and we will always recommend. The reason for 3 stars is most definitely the high prices. While we love the pizza, they definitely do not load the toppings. Minimal cheese as well. We don't mind, but Abby's prices just continue to soar and it's at the point where we only go here 3-4 times a year. It's just really hard to justify spending $50-$60 for pizza, rolls, and soda for only 2 people and hardly any left overs. But we love it so we will most definitely continue to eat here, just not as frequently as we would like. read more

Chaotic and disorganized - that's how I would classify this place. We had a fairly large order. Two kid's pizzas, 3 individual pizzas, one small pizza, two side salads and a spinach salad. We asked to have the salads first but the salads came with the first round of pizzas, about 45 minutes later. It took an additional 10 minutes for the kids pizza (they were hungry) and more for the last pizza. In addition, my spinach salad was missing the bacon. First off I want to say the service received from the onset was fantastic. Michelle Lavery was so conscientious making sure she was getting our order correct. This was very appreciated seeing that my husband is celiac. The manager Alisha was so incredibly helpful and it was very reassuring of her awareness with being celiac, because of her personal experience with family members who are also celiac. The bbq chicken pizza looked badly tossed together and the chicken was clearly precooked and frozen slices thrown on top. Everything about it was meh at best. The garlic knots were cold and undercooked as well... they were dense and chewy like overworked raw dough. Had called in my order for dine-in ahead of time (8p) since they closed at 9p and didn't want to be THAT person.
