A piece of bolt was in my food. I do not recommend this restaurant. Beware, food is not made in house.

Fish and veggies where dry today...

I have been here many, many times. I have learned what is good and what to stay away from. There is also a "time of day" type of thing you must pay attention to as well. If they are busy then you are probably good. If they are slow you risk overheated/over-held veggies and dried out, soggy, or cold proteins. If I get it right I enjoy it alone... My wife won't come with me unless I twist her arm. I don't enjoy doing that very often though...

2pc order of southern fried fish. ..More like 1 piece cut in half

Catfish looks pitiful and was not fried fresh A 2 piece order = 1 filet cut in half Would not order this again

Great food I had the chicken and dumplings. The only reason that it got three stars is due to the constant loud yelling of order numbers. It was impossible to have a conversation during the lunch Rush due to being interrupted by the yelling. There has to be a better way.

ordered ubereats bc i am at work. this is what i get. 1 filet cut in half instead of 2 filet meal

Clean affordable food choice. Home cooking means anything but burgers. A great inexpensive alternative.
    Sam H.

Inexpensive choice if you want something besides a burger. The sides were above average. Folks are always looking for the antiburger establishment. This is it. The pork chop was a real piece of meat with a bone. Potatoes are not instant.

Baked chicken, rice & gravy, sweet potato casserole. Yum.

Doing southern fast food. Enjoy stopping out here or in Southaven. Meatloaf and two sides. I'll spare the roll.

Their "menu" could definitely be updated. It's just 2 papers stapled together written out from word document. The place looks new and nice, but the tables and chairs should be replaced to make the interior. The only thing really keeping this rating from being a 5 star though is that almost everything was over cooked. Except the cornbread muffin. That thing was so soft, moist, and a little sweet too. The sample appetizer had a lot of good flavors. The honey gold was delicious, but the wings were dry from being over cooked. The mozzarella sticks had a thick batter that made it a bit hard. The best appetizer was the southwest egg roll. I had the chicken Philly cheese, the chicken was over cooked on that too. As well as the onion rings. It all had a good flavor though. My husband had the pulled pork burger and it was pretty big, but also big flavors. This place is out of the way for us, but I wouldn't mind coming back and seeing if maybe it was just an off day.

So we drove into old towne, and found this place. Went it, buffet was cheap, $4.99 I think. People, there's a reason why. Where shall I start - Salad portion, 1 lettuce, in 2 different bowls, but, same lettuce, minimal items to put on the salad - celery was brown in one bowl, green in another, I went for the green version. Passed on the cucumbers, cut in quarters, they were multi color as they had turned mushy near the rind and in toward the center. Meats, well, & this is true, I'm not kidding, I starred at them, what I think were the meats, but had to ask the counter guy what were the meats as I couldn't tell by looking at them. ps, there were maybe 4 other people in here at lunch. He said pork chops, OK, I could see those in the gravy, meat loaf, well, I saw something with red sauce on it, but, pushing back the red sauce, that was not ground beef under it, maybe cabbage? Whatever, it was not meatloaf. And finally, BBQ.... well, I guess that was the shredded stuff with so much sauce on it, I thought it was sloppy joes. So, I tried that, but could only eat 1 bite. Although he did not say ham was one of the meat items, I swear there was a shredded ham dish (in the veggie section). It was the only 'meat' item I could eat more than 1 bite of, but my associate took 1 bite of it and could not eat any more. Veggies, there were several, I could see they were lima beans, and brown beans, for example, but could taste no difference in either. Way... way.... way.... way.... too many items on the buffet. Folks, go for Quality, not Quantity. No clue how this place stays in business. On the way back to the office, we asked ourselves: What days were the food we just ate actually cooked???

I order the fried catfish which had no flavor or taste at all , the cabbage was just okay, and the Mac and Cheese was not good either. The meatloaf was cold, but they did say they enjoyed the candies yams, but they still said they would never come back because the food is no longer good or freshly prepared here. But back to my food poisoning situation, around 3:30pm I had stomach cramps so I knew something was wrong ( unfortunately I was the only one had the fish and tartar sauce so it had to be one or the other) and I didn't have anything else to eat that day . But later that afternoon I started vomiting and kept going to the bathroom and here it is the next day and I'm still having stomach pains. I should have know when I entered that know one was inside and they said this place used to be packed for lunch. But unfortunately I will never return here or recommend anyone else to go here for soul food. It wouldn't surprise me if others got sick as well because it's definitely old food being served or it's not being properly store . Myself & one other person had never been. To start, we ordered the Creole Spinach Dip. You would think with the name there would be some kind of flavor. It was lacking. Had to put hot sauce on it to make it taste like something. Next, I ordered the Jenn's Fried Green Tomatoes & a side of "homemade potato chips." Their menu states the fried green tomatoes are "fresh hand-battered." No, these are frozen. Something about them just didn't set right with me. Oh!! The "homemade potato chips" are Wavy Lays. Yes, they were without a doubt the Wavy Lays. One friend ordered the BBQ Nachos. We were immediately told they were out of BBQ but could substitute for chicken. This again, was less than lacking. The other friend ordered the Duck Wontons & Turnip Green Bites. I tried half of the Turnip Green Bites. You couldn't taste the greens at all. You see it, but the cheese & bacon over-powered the item. The service was not great. We were upstairs &, at this time, there weren't many people. Drinks were completely empty before we could get the attention of our server to get another. With this service & food, now I understand why there is a sign in the elevator stating all checks will have 18% automatic gratuity. Give it, the website only states this for parties of 6 or more. Might want to look into that. Again, maybe we caught them on a bad night. If you go, hope you have a better experience than us.

We saw Breanna when we ordered, as the runner put down our meal-she asked if it looked okay. We never saw her again until we were done with our meal. Not checking on us after we've taken a bite, asked for refills, tried to offer desserts-nothing.
