This place is inspired by New Orleans cuisine, but I don't really get that from the food. I'm not saying the food is bad, but it doesn't give me Nola vibes. I had the catfish po boy and my wife got wings the 1st time we got food from there. The Zydeco wings were gamey and the po boy was just okay. I was craving catfish, so I went back and ordered 2 pieces of catfish for a total of $10. The 2 catfish filets were just a whole filet that was cut in half. Thankfully, the kitchen was feeling generous that day and threw in an extra piece of catfish. The fish was very-well seasoned. So much so, that putting hot sauce on it made it too salty for my liking. I added tater sauce as well, but it really didn't need it. It was seasoned that well! There was a slight burnt after taste as if the filets had been cooked in grease that got too hot and burned or had just been used for a while. I'll likely go back to some of the more traditional New Orleans food such as etouffee. Based on my experience so far, I think the food is decent. Hoping that trying more dishes will cause me to give a higher rating in the future. read more

We were in Memphis for the weekend and decided to try this place with New Orleans style seafood. They did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and our server checked on our table many times to ensure we had what we needed. We had the Boudin Balls for our appetizer which were fantastic. Great flavor not too spicy, just right. For entrees my wife had the grilled shrimp and potato salad which she enjoyed very much. She doesn't like her food real spicy so it was a good choice for her. I had the Zydeco Shrimp appetizer as my entree. I have to say it was very spicy so be aware when you order. It is a shareable plate and that helped. Atmosphere was pleasant and not noisy. I guess I like this place... I seem to keep coming back fairly often. We've been here a bunch of times and I've never reviewed it because I have never had back to back, good meals. I do not like giving poor reviews, especially to locally owned places I feel like it's still that way and at that pace I'd never review them. Inconsistent is the best way to describe it. If you look through my pics you can see it. Nothing even looks the same in most cases. You get something you like, then the next time it's not good. Sadly, I have never had a decent bowl of Red Beans here after several attempts. Again with the inconsistency, it's never been the same. The time it tasted the best, it was cold. Ugh. One time is more like chili with no meat. They dice up the sausage, you can hardly tell it is there. Fries are usually pretty good, I will say that. They were hand cut the last times I have had them, and fresh every time. That is the constant. Bravo Gumbo is a 3/5 most of the time. Just don't love their version. Side note, it's starting to feel like I'm bashing, but I promise I like this place. They have the worst blackened catfish I have ever had. I think at some point I coined the phrase "stained catfish" as a result, because it sure isn't blackened. It's more like "whitened", don't come at me for that, it's how I feel. You used to be waited on my the owner and his wife initially. I have not seen them in a while. Super nice people, I hope they are doing well here. My last visit was a bit strange. There was a person who greeted at the table, gave me menus, and brought the drinks. Then they stood up front while the other person tried to handle taking all of the orders. Super inefficient. They should just split the place and take care of folks start to finish. I waited excessively to place my order and to pay when I was ready to go. It looks like they have recently spruced up the interior or maybe I am just seeing things, but it looks good and has always been clean. I'll keep coming back. Maybe I should try a burger?!?!? Yelp led me here after landing at MEM on my way to the Sip. It's in a strip center with parking in front. It was lunch time and almost 1 pm and it was busy but I managed to snag a table. I ordered the Peacemaker Po Boy with shrimp and oysters and homemade fries for $18. While waiting I noticed the bar area with beer on tap. My food came out about 10 minutes later. The Po boy was dressed and had plenty of seafood. There was more shrimp than oysters on my loaf. It was all good but those oysters rocked. Would love to come back and order an oyster po boy only. The fries were hot and kind of crispy. I enjoyed them too, The manager waited on me and did a good job with plenty of humor. The Yelp reviews are correct here. This is a very good place to eat. First time trying this place. Cute little restaurant. 5 stars for the service. The workers were extremely friendly! 3 stars for my meal (I had fried catfish, fries and hush puppies). The fish was not seasoned well, the fries were okay with a little spice and the hush puppies were very small (one of them was not cooked thoroughly, so it was a bit gooey on the inside). My husband had the catfish pontchartrain and he enjoyed it. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, so I'd be willing to try another dish, possibly the Fat Tuesday Burger. read more

Food was good but service fell short. As I looked around restaurant everyone was getting drink refills and asked how was food but I had to get up for drink refill, had to ask for silverware when the people who came in behind us got silverware, and I just did not really feel welcomed. When I did ask for something they were friendly but I should not have to get up to ask for stuff. I will try again as this was my first visit but if service is not better I will not go back. 1-10-26 We were here for lunch. We try to order Po Boys but we told that they ran out of bread. What on a Saturday! So, we ordered most of the Shrimp dishes. They were good but they could have been hot off the grill or frier. The Red Beans and Rice and Gumbo were okay. They were little runny and lacked any seasonings. Not really authentic cajun. The menu is plentiful and fun, so different than typical mid-south. The food I saw being delivered looked amazing and the red beans and rice with garlic bread was truly delicious. Some of the best I've had. A fun experience from the decor and music surround. Not a large place but the owner/manager was talkative, pleasant, and patrons in the restaurant were having fun. Laughter all around, my best friend and I as well. I'm not sure how to give red beans and rice a 5 star rating, but I'm doing it here because I enjoyed it that much. After reading all the wonderful reviews, we were so disappointed with our meal. My gumbo was so thin and watery and bordered on burnt and was COLD. The roast beef sandwich was good but again not very warm. The catfish plate wasn't too bad, but again everything on it was cold. Nice restaurant with great New Orleans themed decor. You can smell the food before you enter the restaurant and it smelled amazing. There is a menu posted outside. We had about a 20 minute wait as there were no seats available but the wait was not long and the food was definitely worth it. The staff was attentive from the start. The atmosphere was great casual, comfortable with light old school rhythm and blues playing softly in the background. The seating was great! The chairs were so comfortable. You could tell everyone was enjoying their food. Our drinks were refilled and the food was hot and timely. If you are a fan of good Cajun food then you will not be disappointed. The Cajun shrimp was the best I've had since visiting New Orleans same with the gumbo and red beans and rice. The red beans and rice has a little kick to it not bad but enough for me and I'm a light-weight for spicy. First time here and will definitely be back. It was Mother's Day weekend when we went. I finally got the chance to dine at 2 Crazy Fellas. I visited on a Thursday and upon arrival was greeted by friendly staff. I learned that on Thursdays, they offer an all-you-can-eat shrimp option at a set price. I decided to make an attempt to save a few calories and passed on that option. Instead, I went with the Cajun shrimp with a side of cabbage. The flavor of the shrimp was excellent. I could even taste the butter along with the seasoning. The cabbage was pretty good too. The staff was super friendly and very patient and offered us great suggestions. I will look forward to returning so that I can try the oysters one day soon! We found out experience there to be pretty good. The wait staff was great. Kept an eye on us in case we needed anything, but also left us alone to marvel at the distinct flavor rushes. Now here's the deal. It's a Cajun restaurant. Some people will post a poor or bad review simply because they have ruined their taste buds from smoking or what-not. We went on a Monday around 1:30 PM. Walking in I thought it would be extremely small since it's between Jersey Mike's and the dispensary. I'm a HUGE fan of Louisiana soul food, everything about it just warms my heart. Currently my fiancé and I are expecting and since I cannot eat boils I have to resort to other things-catfish (and the baby certainly was okay with this choice)! When we first parked and walked in to the restaurant we personally did not enjoy how tightly packed it was and how all eyes were on us as soon as we walked in. There was no dedicated spot to do to-go orders so we sat at the bar and placed our order. Other than the crowded seating situation I really enjoyed seeing and feeling the New Orleans vibes the whole culture is beautiful to me and I really enjoy seeing it around here. The wait was no issue and the prices are very reasonable especially for the amount you receive! I really should've took pictures-but me and the little one were starving we just couldn't wait! We ordered the Catfish Basket, Spinach Artichoke Dip and Big Easy Combo (roast beef poboy and gumbo) which were all excellent, fresh and so filling!
